Anyways, oh yeah, there were some class rings that were up to $500. And people would spend that much on them because they could and because mommy and daddy had all the money in the world to pay for it. Seems like such a waste of money lol
I agree, especially since I stopped wearing mine a year after I graduated lol. A varsity jacket, I can see someone wearing for a few years in college, but not a class ring lol.
now that I look back at it, it is kind of a waste of money... but it's a nice remembrance thing I guess? I dunno to be honest.
I actually dunno where mine even is lol. They were a big ol thing when I was in high school, and I never understood it. Another status symbol in the little high school ecosystem.
I wasn't particularly inclined to get one anyway, but there was zero chance I was going to pay for it out of my own pocket, which is how it would have gone.

My high school had ones ranging from $60 to $500ish.
The only similar thing we have is the graduation hat and you only wear that like once lol
I actually kept my graduation gown, cap and tassels. lol
Doesn't sound like a typical Austrian to me, just a horrible person.
