Room is occupied by batteries, no ? lol
You can see the compartments in this video.
I loved how the guy on the Carrera 4S stopped to chat. ;)
Behold, the power of Lithium batteries when abused:
(That's why the Tesla has a computer box to control the batteries, by the way)

I would hate to have a Jeep with a V8. It's like driving a brick.
The best daily driver engine swap to make would be a Cummins 3.9L as I said in my edit, but it takes a lot of work.
I would like to have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara.

<(O.o)> Toys, toys, toys...
I was checking out a PosiTector at my work last week, now I want one.
Problem is they range from $100 to $1,200. Going to have to read up on all of them and maybe see if there's some form of a consumer report for a paint thickness detector that professional/industrial companies use.. What are you doing where you need to check for paint thickness where you aren't applying it in a calibrated method?

One of my jobs is going through the whole, learn as much as you can, modes. I work as a transporter but also at a remarketing car auction.
So with ASE certifications and schooling that they are willing to pay parts for, I wanted to go through collision estimating and inspections. The positector is one thing you have to know to trace prior paint jobs and see if damage/paint jobs happened.
We all have our, quick assessments/visual inspections on vehicles, but if someone might help bring the cost of schooling down and give me the experience time, I'll take all I can get.
I would imagine that you would get more bang for your relative buck using reflective techniques and feeler gauges than using a positector probe, except to possibly provide a secondary/tertiary confirmation.

Ah~ <(O.o)> I take it you do something with engineering or aeronautics? Am I right?
I remember having people do the ultrasonic tests for thickness, but that was a steel company and most steel samples, even from Germany or China, had to get approved for thickness. You could say that.
And you can certainly do that, as well as checking for discontinuities/defects in materials (e.g. cracks, voids, delamination).
But that would likely be overkill for most cars.
*edit* I should say, checking every car, as opposed to first article/statistical sampling.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
