Doctors all seem to have pagers attatched to their tips still.
Then again, let me tell you, the medical system in this country clings to dying technology the way the NRA clings to their guns.
To be fair: it was my last job that was for a hospital system, go figure.
Yeah, and hospitals and doctors' offices are *** awful about switching over to electronic medical records, and many of them are so dreadfully afraid of HIPAA violations that fax machines will never, ever, ever leave common use, because to trust an electronic signature might just kill them.
Actually, that system is very much about EMR, and pushing more towards it (financial incentives). Also pushed out a digital prescription program, was one of my first projects to install extra hardware for it.
Not all places are *** backwards, and they're moving towards scanning all the ***in, but it takes time.

Out of curiousity, can you tell me what system you were working with, given you're from the general region?
I can tell you that while some are push forward to EMR, some are dragging their feet so hard you'd think they're physically rooted to their fax machines.

VA based hospital system, would rather not say which.
They used a couple of different programs, but the practice one was Nextgen.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
