Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
By Jetackuu 2014-05-11 09:22:28
I actually checked that out. Those are hilarious, great read.
Only $1,459.99 too. What a steal!
I can't believe they can legally sell that dumb ***. There should really be laws against it, as too many people are stupid and will buy it.
Uneducated audiophiles are really the only ones (or super macnerds) (trying to avoid the usual phrase I use for that), but holy ***.
It's like the "gold plated" ones that sell for more, when they don't bring any better signal. The difference in the conductivity between gold and copper is within tolerance. The only benefit is in areas where you may be subject to corrosion, where gold would last longer than copper in said environment.

I'm not either A. stupid B. gullible C. live in an area where corrosion would be that much of a problem (it would really only be in coastal towns, or on a boat, I may get a gold plated cable for something on a boat, but that's about it, and I certainly wouldn't overpay for it.)

Thinking I might get an amp and a DAC some time in the not so distant future.
Only reason I am going lower class on headphones right now is because I lack the power to drive higher end cans. Also I hear the HD598's are a great load of fun and a wonderful hold over until I can get my hands on a nice pair of headphones that are in the $1500+ range, ultimately allowing me to skip the low spectrum of the high end headphones.
Just a general question... are tube amps really worth the price hike over modern amps? Was looking into getting a Schiit Asgard 2, but have been wavering and wondering if I should go ahead and shell out the extra money for a Valhalla.
As far as DACs go, got my eye on a Schiit Bifrost (Uber Analog version to get the higher end board).

I was actually a bit surprised that, after ordering my stylish new AudioQuest Diamond designer belt, it wasn't really tailored to my specifications. I did mention in my purchase comments that I had been putting on a bit of weight, but I found the implication that I have a 196 inch waist to be quite offensive. Good quality, but I do not believe I will be purchasing menswear of this brand again.

Some audiophiles really love the sound of old tube amps, but I probably wouldn't get them, unless you can service them yourself.
Considering you work with your hands a lot, it would be worth it to learn a bit about it, and the safety around it, if you prefer the sound. It's a personal choice from what I gather, but it's a common personal choice, so take that as what you will.
I just wouldn't purchase an older technology unless I could service it myself. (You really just need to know how to safely discharge it before you service it, or you could literally kill yourself, if the charge goes through your heart, like working on tube tvs).
I've been shocked by tv's when I was like 13 and didn't know what I was doing, luckily it only made my hand numb, and it didn't go through my heart. Probably wasn't such a good idea to give a kid tools and a lot of time, without telling him to be careful if he takes apart the tv. (It didn't work anymore anyway, but still had the charge).

AudioQuest Diamond Review said: I didn't know what think when I fight got this cable. I had an Android phone but it only took a little over a week of using this cable and it transformed my old phone into the Iphone I now have and love. Could not be happier with the results. Everyone needs to buy a Diamond.

So as to the tube amp vs transistor amp: I'd go listen to both with a variety, and see which you prefer more. I mean I'd personally think that a professional should have both, as I could imagine that both have their uses, but that's my electronics speaking, and not really my understanding of music, as I don't really have much in the latter category. It just makes sense to have one of each to me, especially since the one is safer to repair, and probably easier to find the stuff for, then again the world of music is one area where tubes still exist, so I'm sure there's a lot of specialty places for it.

Morning RT
Also, is it just my imagination or is there someone behind Yoruichi?
edit: a hollow..? That's her back
Although judging from the rule 34 all over the interwebs, there probably IS someone behind her.
Nah, its her back side. She's doing one of those poses

One thing I can say, the first month of playing the game is amazing. You'll be in awe how great the game looks and exploring new areas.
Once you get your jobs to level 50, you kind of feel burnt out from grinding in the hot spots and then lose that exciting feeling of leveling other jobs.
I can't speak for anything new they put into the game after launch, but be wary that playing the game might be short termed if you don't want to invest alot of time into something that will be repetitive.
The way they designed the game, you won't have to read into anything basic, the game literally hand feeds you information on missions and quests. Hmm... that part has me a little worried.
Still might try it for a month though.

Jeeze, what did I start ; ; Sorta, it kind of went on a different tangent.
Some people say that tube amps sound better than transistor based amps, and considering it's how music was made for a long time, and people worked with that, I can see why they said that. I imagine there's certain sounds only obtainable with a tubed amp vs a transistor amps, and vice versa.

Still might try it for a month though. You can still play casually, semi-casually and retain that level of excitement for a long time, as long as you're on a server where people are constantly yelling for things, or using the party/duty finder.
I have a character on Goblin, that I stopped playing because there were very few party finders going even during peak periods, and groups kept wanting you to pay up in order to do the content.

(Also having LS/FC to do stuff with helps) The Free Company Recruitment board in game was actually a pretty wicked idea.
Plus, they pretty much give you all the reason you need to gain experience via quests, resting bonus in sanctuaries, and levequests. The Cross-skills were also pretty badass too.

if it works. it works
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
