Here most people who go to work take the train and bus. I live too far in the boonies to go without a car. Sorry, not riding a bike 30-40 miles to work (one way!) every day. And there's no bus/train/etc up here! :p We have nice, silent and clean trains here and the buses are pretty decent.

These are pritty much the same as ours... only difference is the first seats on the train pick would be faceing from the wall as courtasy seating for anyone on crutchest/pregnants etc. not looking forward to my drives to school next week lol not to mention the parking lot at school gets super full the first few weeks lol

Because America lacks a decent infrastructure with reasonable and affordable mass transit and has some sort of lame cultural image that obligates each and every human being + dog & cat to own their own vehicle that gets -2 miles per gallon. I don't get it either man. I walk most places or just pay my friends with cars for gas/food. I guess they figure you'd be a bit tired after kayaking across the Pacific Ocean for 2700 miles, so you may as well get some rest in Hawaii before you Kayak another 3800 miles :D
