OH MY GOSH work today! Well at lunch I ranted and fussed and bellowed and vented and yelled at the whole forum in general for something you all had no control over whatsoever.
But the afternoon was much nicer. Once I vented it all, I was much more charming to my lovely coworkers. They knew I was mad at them a wee bit, so they brought me a peace offering. They brought me back a humongous Red Bull from their lunch break. It was so sweet! I'm not allowed to drink stuff that's sugary, but I drank it anyways. You must always drink peace offerings, it's the rules. It was delicious! Plus they thought half the reason I was mad was because I was tired. They are kinda right, I am 99% more prone to be a giant crab when I'm tired. So sweet and thoughtful of them!
Then the upstairs bosses came down and were all "You must follow SOPs!" to us all because they found out about the boards. The poor boys. But they didn't scold anyone in particular, so I'm glad about that.
Then the building across the road was having a controlled burn that got out of control and burned their fence down and the fire department came. It gave us a common drama to spy on together. Nothing brings people together like watching drama happen to other people!
Then I went upstairs to get more 4-hole connectors for the IF boards, and one of the upstairs guys said "We need another person to help us up here, and you are top of the list." WHOA BOY. Slooooow down! Ok, only the best people are picked to go upstairs. The upstairs assemblers put together things that are a bit more complicated than the downstairs assemblers. As such, usually the people who are there the longest are the first in line to get picked to go upstairs. I'm third in line. Third! It's completely shocking and flattering that they are even considering me over the other two. I'm not the fastest. I don't have the most experience. I get confused easily when I'm working on something new.
Well I decided not to take it to heart because the guy who told me wasn't a boss and probably just overheard something that he might not have been supposed to. And even if he was right, he sure as heck probably wasn't supposed to tell me. I went back downstairs kinda flattered as heck and kinda really nervous-- I don't need to make the two who are ahead of me in line mad. I'm not here to step on toes. (Unless you mess with my boards, and then I'm going to erupt all over my forum community and STOMP your toes! Oops. xD)
Well. My husband is an engineer, and the engineer's office is right next to the upstairs assembly room. They hear conversations back and forth often. My husband told me that today the upstairs boss told the big boss that he needed more people, and that he specifically did NOT want the first two in line. He asked for me, specifically, by name. The big boss can veto it, or consider it for months, or not allow it altogether because the downstairs assembly is also shorthanded and we need all of us, so I can't get excited. But it's true. The upstairs boss wants me in his department.
I can't believe it! OH MY GOSH! Please don't let CCL and ID hate me, but OH MY GOSH!
