only now?!?!?!

I find it funny how all the sony fanboys cry "GOTY!!!" and just....no lol

it doesnt even win my negative GOTY! aka most over rated game of the year.

that goes to

I wasn't going to buy it because I don't do zombie games but I was told it was really really good and blahblahblah

and I switched to nightshift in the middle of the week after a day on dayshift and I needed something to keep me up all night long.

I'm not done yet but I think the voice acting is great and the relationship between Joel and Ellie is heartbreakingly wonderful.

but I don't do fungus/zombies hiding around corners..I have died a bajillion times because I'm impatient and just want to hacknslash my way through (I hacknslashed my way through dishonored and Assassins Creed too). It took me an eternity to learn the controls (you don't have to hold down the up button with r1 to heal yourself, this stupid game lies)..I put the game on easy mode so I can have autotarget.

Also like all these modern GOTY actiony games are ridiculously short. This is going to be another one of those 8 hours and you're done...heres some online coop shiznit that I wont touch at all.

:(

I just found it to be a very linear and average (or since it is a naughtydog game, subpar) shooter.

Wondering also....

Have you met Bill?

Bioshock infinite is the only bioshock game I've personally played. I watched my sisters babydaddy play some of the originals but I don't like dark and gloomy and I just..didn't..like him and wouldn't sit throught he whole game.

Bioshock infinite was kind of fun, I liked it more than I thought. I really liked the creepy music...I could leave my tv on the start screen forever. The ending was weird but after rewatching it a couple times it wasn't horribad.

am a little upset that the game gives you all these options and your choices don't mean anything.

no spoilers for TLOU ending yet. Almost there

Yeah the sequence in the car with Joel and Ellie after you meet Bill is actually one of my favorite parts of the game....until you're forced out of the car.

Well if you're nearly finished that means you've met Bill xD Ellie's dialogue quality just increases in quality from that point onward lol

I miss my 40 hour long games for PS1/PS2 :|

Or even quality games that were shorter but could replay a billion times

Any game with good character backgrounds and a world that feels alive with a rich story to uncover and that doesn't feel cramped (like in 13 where you run along a corridor all the *** time). A world on a next-gen console (well, current gen) shouldn't make you feel trapped, it should let you explore the game world and have lots of different areas and npcs to talk to.

I think this is why I liked skyrim so much...Ive never played any elder scrolls but I really miss open worlds and exploring.

NinoKuni tried to give the classic open world RPG feel. It was visually pretty and I enjoyed playing it. Not my top RPG ever but it was nice in the current world of shootersonry.

I miss the feeling of adventure I got when I was around 10 and I popped FF9 in for the first time or when I ran around the world map in 8 at my friend's place. I still get that when I play stuff like Skyrim but there's just such a lack of good games with exploration. Sure, you couldn't go anywhere you wanted in 9 but at least it gave you a break from the story if you wanted it. You could do one story part and then go *** around and then do another, you weren't forced to do very long story parts just to get one chance in the game to explore a small area and then be forced back to just story.

It's likely going to get worse with the next gen too. Bigger and better hardware = bigger and better cutscenes and less gameplay AND even longer and longer development times

You don't need the best graphics as long as you make the world interesting and with plenty of things in it. They shouldn't focus as much on the graphics, they need better stories. Rich worlds like Ivalice with lots of history to be found from talking to npcs, reading notes, doing quests and having lots of side stuff to do. The hunts gave me a lot of enjoyment in XII in between the story parts and it let me explore the whole world and took me to areas I probably wouldn't have gone to otherwise.

one of my fondest memories of FF9 was running around the map and hopping in caves and accidentally coming across random places and picking up extra sidequests. I used to think it was so cool that you could do extra quests that werent related to the main story. I never wanted this game to end.

I even did the Stellazio Coins and Coffee quests. The Chocobo Hot & Cold game I only did so that I could explore more areas. Why can't developers see that when they design games? :/

I still think 12 is lacking in the story department but I loved the gameplay and the extra quests in it as well. Mainly I loved to pick up side stuff just to hear Balthier say something snarky. It was more than enough of a treat to hear an extra bit of dialogue.

Oh it is lacking in the main story but the rest of the world is very well done, how much you can learn about it from talking to npcs and how alive it feels because of those npcs. I think they did a very good job there at least and with the gameplay.

Yeah I can and it is a bit hnnggg but they still did much better with story because that's what most of their focus was on with their lack of technology.
