So! Awhile ago at work I was pulled from my station to be put on a project to surface-mount special boards for a new customer who wanted 300 of a special order. And I loved it! I got to sit in the engineer's office (there are two engineers, I'm married to one of them and the other one is a fun pal) and listen to the good engineer music (seriously, who added dubstep to the downstairs assembly Pandora mix?) and no one talks to me about religion or politics or cats or at all. It was the most peaceful, awesome, work-loving two weeks of work ever. YAY!
But then I had to go back downstairs when the project was done. ;; So I've been back downstairs for a few weeks or a month or whatever. And yesterday they realized that the inventory boss people forgot to order more interface boards, so they yoinked me from my station (with my boss frowning all the way!) and sent me up to the engineer's office to surface mount components to the naked boards that we had stored somewhere for who knows why on earth. YAY! I made 75 yesterday, then asked the big boss how many more she'd like, and she goes "Oh... make them all." So I'm in the engineer's office today too to make the rest of them. YAY!
THEN right before we left for lunch today, the big boss called my husband into her office and informed him that she was ordering a thousand more of those boards and components for them that she'd like me to make, which will be here in a week or so. So he came back to me laughing and said "Apparently you're doing a good job on those, she's getting you a thousand more to make."
And let me just be the first to say...
YAY!!! :D :D
If they could just decide to do their own surface mount full-time and then decide to promote me to full-time surface mounter, that'd be great!
