I don't see what's so fun about shooting hearts at mobs for 75 levels.

It's nice because you don't have to deal with asshats as much. When I was leveling BST on a regular basis, I would camp in the most obscure places I could find that were good for my level.

Just need to make sure you bring RR with you, and have a nice LS to chat with people while you're out in the wilds.

I did BST 35-50 in about a week with little trouble. It's amazing what you can do when you don't have to wait for invites, deal with parties that disband after 30 min, overcrowded camps, etc. It's pretty nice to be able to logout at your camp for the next day. When you get home from work, log in and you're exping within 5 minutes.

Also, you learn very fine enmity control, and you gain a very thorough working knowledge of mob TP moves and tendencies. As someone with WHM main, those thing are very helpful to have the experience with.

That can be said by any job that solos well.
I soloed Blu 1-63 then 70-75
Personally I prefer soloing over partying because you get to go places where no one ever is and fight unique mobs.

Yeah except if you ever want to get in a real merit party. Because you know, duoing or trioing for like 5k/hr is awesome =P

Old School FTW. Ghetto Leave what would a Bst know about that now? They dont. They also have become lazy. I member back in the old days when having a charmed pet ment minus xp loss for having charmed pet. Beast these day know nothing of the struggles we had before.

I know this might be usless to say to all the lolBst haters. Sucks for you. Beastmaster is a sickness most cant handle. I was sick fromthe start and even 75 Smn and 71 Pup along the way. <3 my BST over all the 75's I have.

BST is good at what it's good at. As much as I hate to say it, FFXI has a fairly balanced job system.

Why does everyone QQ about overpowered SAM?

SAM isn't "overpowered" unless it's well-geared and well-meritted. I've seen a lot of /fail SAM that just plain suck.

The job doesn't make the player, the player makes then job.

If well-geared and meritted, MNK, WAR, DRK, RNG, DRG or just about any other DD are "overpowered" too.

Back to BST stuff:

Yeah, I learned to play back in the day when your pet counted against your EXP and you had to suicide your pets with Heel/Stay. On top of that, duoing BST below 35 was absolutely out of the question, since your EXP would suffer hugely.

Sam is definately overpowered in the DD department.

Adding player skills/merits into the mix is irrelevant when comparing the job at its core and what it was built to do.

Or if you want, a full merited, full geared SAM w/ skills will be more Overpowered than any of the other full merited, full geared DD w/ skills.

Rdm > Bst IMO

SE definitely needs to consider better cap-75 jug selection.

Carrie is just about all you see because a) Carrie is very good (and cheap), and b) most of the others are ridiculously expensive.

Ambusher Allie was fun to use in a synced EXP party with LS friends, but using jugs like that on BST is like using dragon-based foods on a DD. Most people would love to, and will do it for fun once in a while, but typically the average joe just can't afford it.

Yeah :/ I'd love to use Ambusher Allie more often xD! I call for more jug selection!

I think we have plenty to choose from, although what BST wouldn't want a slime pet =D I think what SE needs to do is allow us to choose which Sic move our pets will do. That alone would be the best BST upgrade ever.

tbh, I couldn't stand BST. I only got it to 14 before I wanted to pull my hair out, although I have thought about breaking it out again and giving it another chance...

FoV is really good for bst, you should def break it out again D: My DNC is 75, it's pretty funny to do /bst and use courier carrie's in Campaign xD

That was more of a sly statement than a QQ. As a THF that gets merits via campaign, I don't really see much competition from SAMs.

And I am in favor of more jug selection. I'd like to see more than just CC whenever I run into a BST!
