Just Wondering What Upgrads To Make Now :x

I'm a main bard, I've tried fighting it, I never win, so I've embracced it, and made the upgrades I can think of, but I want to see if anyone here can help me with something I've missed.

Start by telling us what you have?

Buff's.


Debuffs.


I use Apollo's for sleeps and Light grip.
I use Earth(Working on Eart acc Teiwaz) and Reign grip.

Just joined a Salvage shell for Marduks pants for Debuffs, and head for buffs.

It's fine haha.
I should have been quicker. :O

Use musical over melody for debuffs, and astute over jester's for debuffs.. about the same but you can sell it etc. Can get a balrahn's for debuffs.... marching belt.... etc... marduk's if you can do salvage. But your gear is fine. I use wind earring instead of singing too... not a huge difference.

That's my most prized bard item, because as far as I know, I was 1st on Fenrir with it. :D

Also I'd use oracles over goliard for debuffs. And nice. ^^ Nothing really to upgrade besides salvage gear/other harder things like odin items.

Edit: Missed Minstrel's coat for body on buffs. And can get Mahatma's for body but eh.

Why is that?

What I've read is CHR > Skill if you land easily.
Plus M.Acc ftw.

CHR's for landing on stuff with things that have higher CHR than you... not many things have super high CHR, and if it does you probably need to ES Elegy it anyway.

Edit: You get a decent amount of CHR from other slots anyway. Body/legs etc.

Use an earth grip over a reign grip for elegy.

HQ the Demon helm if you can, as it helps for getting as much singing skill in march as possible.

I'd use the Chl. cannions +1 for debuffs, unless you're nursemaid lullabying ofc.

Musical way over Melody.

Gleemans belt or Corsette +1 over Marching for debuffs imo


Other than that good gear, better than my sets lol.

Minstrel's is only think I can think off my head for buffs.
I'd use af pants over your sha'ir on enfeebs though.

I wouldd upgrade demons helm, but I don't think it's worth it because I'm getting Marduk's head first, so it's just a waste.

VNMs are kinda dickly to land Elegy anyway even with near perfect gear. Just /blm there, troub/night/ES elegy, and spam elegy before it wears. BRD's roundlet is better for debuffs than +1 demon if you can get that. Also brd's pants if you don't get Marduk's soon. But then again things need to drop etc.

I would use Minstrals in merits' but I use Yigit for Bard order so I can get all parties.

If you're getting Marduk's soon then yeah, no point upgrading :)

^^ I mean, I had Demon's +1 a long time ago, but I needed gil for something. and 125k isn't worth 1 skill really, unless I find out it will break a teir.

Your buff set has 505 skill + 16 singing from merits for a grand total of 521, which is way past the needed amount for March tiers, so upgrading singing skill at level 75 is currently un-needed. (Should change at 80 and higher though.)

You can afford to lose some skill, all that's needed is 499 or higher I'm pretty sure? Get a minstrel's ring and two song spellcasting time -% daggers from Succor to the Sidhe for your buff songs.

As for debuffs: (Only going to list the more easily obtained ones AKA not Marduk's)

Head: AF2+1 > AF2 > Demon Helm +1.
Body: Sha'ir Manteel > Mahatma > Osode/AF+1/Errant
Ear2: Musical Earring, get rid of that Melody it's worthless. (Edit: Nevermind, saw you said you don't use it anymore)
Ring1: Balrahn's. Judging by your jobs it should be the only worthwhile choice, Ulthalam's is useless unless you're a melee only person.
Waist: Corsette+1 or Gleeman's Belt will probably help more here.
Legs: AF2+1 > AF2 > Sha'ir/Mahatma > Errant (Yes I realize you have Sha'ir now, just listing it anyway.)
Feet: Great. Could possibly upgrade to Shadow Clogs.

As far as I know there wasn't a cap yet, like Ghorn can make teir break.

Also, I'm 4/8 singing, and 8/8 wind, still working on finishing bard off, since I tried ignoring it for so long, I am actually working on Marduk's legs and head, so that's better then anything, I do Einherjar, but I want EBody > Shadow Clogs.

Also want shadow body.

On your profile it says you're 8/8 wind and 3/8 string which I found quite odd if I do say so myself. :x

It's not string lol.
