If you're asking about my group then yeah the whm has yagrush. Isn't a whole lot of status curing going on though.

Aminon has no status effects.

A/E - we don't get metal so poison cant be removed other than chakra, silena I guess.

B/F - erase on the dia zap applies to us and gravity after the fight.

C/G - We don't get the metal so cant remove the curse, his fetter auras can't be -na off, mostly just erases on the aoe bind and I guess bio.

D/H - he only uses two tp moves so not a ton of status curing going on.

Can always opt to use panacea and rememdy to make it easier on a non yagrush whm or try relying on esuna in misery maybe?

He dies in 3min normal mode and 5min on hard mode so usually dont run out of chi blasts.

When I first was starting to do it and going slower and there was penance downtime, supports would stop WSing and I would turn on monk every ws and let an absorb or two go off, During penance Its just gas pedal down and go, as long as people aren't sitting on absorb tp its not a problem.

For resets I specifically only use chi blast and footwork when its a random deal reset so those are the only two JAs on cd.

Chi blast + footwork on engage
Random deal
Impetus, Footwork when first wears, chi blast when first penance wears.
Wild Card
Footwork when 2nd wears, Chi blast when 2nd penance wears
Random deal
Re-apply impetus, footwork when it wears, chi blast when penance wears.

For normal mode you wont need the last chi blast reset when you have the flow of things.

It shouldn't take more than 3 Chi Blasts to kill normal mode Aminon. With our AmpullaMNK SAM setup we kill him in about 3 mins so we're guaranteed to have Penance up full-time on Normal Mode kills. If you get unlucky RDs on Hard Mode the MNK just takes it a little slow for 1:20 until recast is back up. I'll usually WS > turn for about 3 seconds > build TP and WS > turn for about 3 seconds > repeat. Penanceless windows do slow the damage down, but it doesn't bring the fight to a halt or anything.

If you absorb 400, he was about to TP. I’m still kind of shocked with Aminon landing hits on the monk this is viable.

Penance lasts 1:40

So you have initial 1:40
Rd 1:40
Wc 1:40
Rd 1:40

Still 6:40

What if RD doesn’t hit chi blast? What do you do when penance is down?

IIRC absorb-tp will drain at most 50% of available TP?

So a 500 TP absorb would mean he had 1k TP.

Generally try to keep absorbs between 300-400 at the most.

So I have a .xis file, a config and macro backup from the FFXI config program.
Is there any way to extrapolate PART of the macros in this file and read them?
Only thing I can do with the software is to restore the whole settings and macros entirely.

I just wanna read them.

I run with the same person every time so our KIs always line up.

Aminon > D > C > B > A > E > H > F > G

SV/bolster on aminon, cutting cards brd. SV songs on aita, nitro after kill so its up for aita/gartell/trib. Bolster comes up on gartell.

I've killed gartell without bolster with this setup several times but i'm fairly certain we always have SV songs up for him.

The stat mods are identical.

Swapping cape stats evens them out for the most part. DA for Helheim, STP for Laphria. Hoxne Ampulla favors Helheim if you go that route.

Well, Laphria has 380 DMG and Helheim has 336, so I wouldn't expect the WS to perform exactly the same.

Laphira swings a bit slower (because of higher delay), but also does more damage.

Has anyone made/found an addon that lets you censor your magic list (make it appear as if you don't own certain spells) so the UX of playing a mage from the menus is better?

Recording my speech is being a lot more work than I expected.

90% of that work is my cringing about my own ridicule english speaking, and my own diction, that is garbage even in portuguese.

Lots or retakes and editing, more than 2h to edit a 2 minutes speech, and this is only about 20% of my script.

I even considered to just give it to full text to speech, I would have this done already if I went to this route, but this is a good opportunity to exercise my speaking skills.

Also, I tend to feel people would prefer hearing a garbage but real speech than a correct and polite, but machine one.

Gradually as my diction becomes better, and my speaking skills improve, I will get my recording faster and with less retakes, and with more quality.

Still, at my stage, there is a very long way to go.

Nah I've seen both, Laphria on War is a bit stronger. The appropriate ws sets are all the same, only stat mods change.

Yes this is a known issue (that I haven't fixed yet >.>). I'll get around to it soon hopefully.

With that being said, I did upload v1.3 today that fixes some minor bugs:

  • fixed a bug where entering Sheol: gaol was not recognized when entering Odyssey

  • fixed a bug where teleporting back to your "home" city in Crystal Era zones via a Campaign Arbiter would sometimes show Xarcabard [S] instead of the city.

  • fixed a bug with teleport-spells where a nearby player teleporting would change your zone (lol!)

  • fixed a bug where entering Sortie would not be properly recognized if you are not the party leader

  • added support for the "Waking the Colossus" battlefield in Nyzul



There is no reason to redownload everything (since the image directories are quite large). Just updating the lua files should work just fine.

I have this on two macros and find it faster as long as you don't run out of supplies. Requires the "send" addon.

The addon Send makes multi-boxing easier. I just have macros that uses meds on all characters simultaneously.

I would and I did go for Helheim. It swings 12% faster than Laphria by default, and is not hard to gear to 5-hit, 100% datk. Laphria has appreciably higher base damage for harder hitting autos, but Fimbulvetr has superior SC properties and damage calculation vs. Disaster and its autos come out faster.

If you're finding substantial advantage in damage with Laphria, then you're probably not using an appropriate set for Helheim. It's fallen into this weird group think where people just want the, "signature" weapon of WAR to be the best, so everyone seems to be chanting ad infinitum, "Yeah Laphria is slightly better overall plus BREAKS!" Which, you know, if you need Breaks for content, then you can still do them and weapon swap(or you could be realistic and have your BRD do Shell Crusher cause breaks other than DEF down are usually not cared about, but if they are they are worth the weapon swap). The horror!

That said, Disaster does have the cooler WS animation. Just can't beat a giant sun shaped explosion. Thanks Metatron Torment! (Course I'm still really fond of Scourge, as it looks like opening up heaven with a small halo at the top, and then slicing through the firmament of reality)

But I would definitely go for Helheim, especially if you are interested in the other jobs on it as well.

I kind of regret doing helheim honestly. It is a great weapon, but thinking back, i would have rather had a great great axe for my warrior than helheim. The difference between Caladbolg and Helheim aren't enough imo for that job. And for pld and run it's a toy for MLs really, not anything else.

at stage 4, caladbolg is slightly stronger than helheim for drk/pld FYI. So if you are not going all the way to stage 5 consider that.

You pick Laphria so you can immediately lockstyle into Helgoland (the giant concrete block hammer you can get from Ambuscade), and have Disaster look like you're turning someone's face into a smoothie.

Sounds like a good reason to me.

Even having the director parachute in for a photo op would be a reason just not a good one.
