I'm curious, is Oranyan a viable option for enhance duration? I keep seeing Colada with +4% yet Oranyan has 10% duration. Has it been overlooked due to drop or am I missing something?

i was supposed to register something? I thought just do the content and get the points.

I'm in the same boat. I think we're just screwed out of the title because of shitty SE programming.

I don’t like the implication that demon infiltration is as common as TVR made it either. A demon or two is fine, but the numbers TVR presents is a real problem when you consider the ***they could have caused in the crystal war by NOT having the various kindred openly fight when they could have easily sabotaged from within like how Tonberries were used as assassins.
it's really our fault, if we had delivered all those Beastmen's Seals earlier maybe Odin could have funded more infiltrators back then

I’d have to look through the code but I vaguely recall Dynamis and the area split between Ody and Lilith/Alexander HTBF.

I believe ody and maiden of dusk was solved a bit back, with a version update.

Are we talking old or new dynamis... or new new dynamis ?

I'm about to release a new version and just want to make sure i got these ironed out first

She didn't exactly force it to happen.

1. The Lillith timeline was the true timeline.

2. Altana creates an alternate timeline, where the allies won.

3. Atomos destroys fake timelines, she knows this when she creates it.

4. Altana creates a wildcard in this new timeline, where the adventurers can enter her world (the players didn't exist in the past, nor in Lilliths timeline as far as we know).

5. The player travels back in time to the past.

6. The player changes the past and allows the allies to win decisive battles (for instance the player allows Windurst to hold out and win against the Shadow Lords first attack against them, by stopping the reinforcements), so that the timeline she created now is the real timeline due to having a proper past.

She gave the 5 races a second chance and created Cait Sith to help, but the player / allies still made the current timeline real by their actions.

You get the title when you select the Overall Reward.

I tied for first place in Vana'bout. However, I never spoke to the moogle before it ended to do something with my score. My name is still ??? in the Moogle's list and I didn't get my title. Just seeing if there's anything else that I can do.

I'm going to be indignant if they screw me out of the title because I missed talking to an NPC by 5 minutes.

I like to use SCRIPT

Suspension of

Whatever happened before doesn't matter, whatever happened after doesn't matter, only what is happening now matters.

HP is the same up to a 6 character party. Adding more bodies hitting on it is not always a good thing though, depending on how much dmg they're doing.

Even for say a brd that can do decent enough damage, on some mobs (Albumen, Schah, the other caturae) the brd is feeding a lot of TP and making the fight much harder for that relatively little extra damage.

Unless you have 3-4 naeglings and can ignore the SCs cause there aren't any, you also need to pay attention to what WS are used and what SCs they make for the mobs that absorb certain elements.

This is mostly darkness SCs that can be an issue for helms.
It's not DPS I'm worried about, so noone else engaging. I might need a COR though? GEO too? A tank?

Retcon is shorthand for Retroactive Continuity, and it was popularized by comic book writers (which led to many, many, many people misusing the term).

In order for something to be a retcon it has to violate a story's narrative or world building continuity in some way.

Examples of Retcon within FFXI:

Lady Lilith's Vana'diel was the true outcome of the Crystal War, and our Vana'diel is just Altana's desired outcome that she forces to happen. We were never just heroic adventurers, but Goddess Chosen with Divine Dispensation.

We didn't actually kill The Shadowlord. The Zilart Princes and Ark Angels did (in spite of our later revealed Divine Dispensation).

Examples of Not-Retcons, merely additions within FFXI:

Within the first 5000 years of The Meltdown, a draconic entity threatened the whole world. Odin and a Heroic Galka took him out behind the shed, and put him down. He entered stasis within an egg or sixteen, because he's a weird quasi-dimensional dragon that drinks tesseract Crystal juice(Creation energy).

The Olduum Civilization was all about lightning, and may have created Maroliths, and passed the caretaking of their special control staff into the hands of the Mamool Ja.

-----------------------

Use of the word can get a bit murky, because a lot of things can affect continuity. Even things added that were intended to have no bearing on the story. XI has plenty of retcons within its own framework, some of them are pretty hard asks if you really care, but there really aren't a lot within TVR. They did good with what they had to work with, as always.

I never changed my filter settings in *** but recently it is blocking everything, even non chinese RMT spam ***. Any better addons to do this but not miss things I actually want to see?

As I mentioned before, as far as I remember, their HP doesn't scale under 6. If I'm right, you won't see monster HP increase by going from 4 to 6, so I would say it's good to add more bodies (provided they have good gear and know what they're doing).
By K123 on 2025-12-01 06:21:12
I still need an Albumen on one char that I've been too pussy to try and do as WAR BRD or SAM BRD. Am I being too hesitant or do I need more bodies?
By Dodik on 2025-12-01 04:27:35
All I remember about TVR is someone going "Oh yeah, Galkas used to have a penis, then thing happened and now all Galkas are smooth like Ken dolls as punishment."

Have done full clears with four, and know people that trio-boxed a full aeonic clear.

It's all doable if you have some experience and a good setup. For Erinys specifically, Asylum from whm after 1st TP move and 1hrs for zerg in about a minute. If he gets move off just rebuff and keep going. Biggest issue is also tanking all the adds at the same time - whm will need to be pretty buff. Yaegasumi will also block the dispel.

Schah - just do a long clear by killing all the adds first. Curse buffers for the <50% push.

dd whm brd geo cor is the standard setup with cor preferably swapping to geo. Zerde have brd and/or geo do stuns for the ugly moves.

After all, other than a plethora of side stuff, there's not a lot of "main" things to explore in FFXI after RoV.
You and I have different definitions for the phrase, "not a lot"
Please allow me to further elaborate, because I think we perfectly agree at least on this point.
There's A LOT of stuff that they could have explored, and that would be perfectly fit and very interesting, but it simply did not fit their criteria.

They wanted something that:
1) could allow to re-use zones/settings/npcs stuff. Clearly they didn't have the dev resources to develop new thing, would need a new expansion for that
2) they wanted an antagonist with a story that felt on an epic scale. As dangerous and bad as previous cosmic-level stuff like Promathia, Cloud of Darkness etc. And frankly I think it's (almost?) impossible to create something like that after the explanation they gave with CoD moving within the FFXI multiverse and devouring stuff, with Promathia, Altana, Odin, Alexander and everything else tryin to "protect" our Vana'diel from CoD's detection.

"Inventing" Chaos and retconning it so it's always been there and we just didn't know about it is probably the best they could do to fit those criteria.

Personally I would've loved a plethora of other untold stories but those would've felt less "cosmic epic" and would've needed way more resources, it simply didn't fit their criteria alas.

Edit:
Also, as I tried to explain before but probably it wasn't clear, enough, Retcons in themselves aren't necessarily bad.
I mean CoD was a retcon too, pulled out of their ***, but to me it "fit" the story incredibly well, it was a good retcon.
Chaos instead? I don't think it was an overly bad retcon, but to me it wasn't a particularly good one either.

What's less cosmic? If we keep going in that direction, is "more campy" what you mean? I can think a few local problems I'd like to see:

Even more problems in Dynamis
War between the different kinds of mandragora
Galkan Civil War (Pick the topic they fight about)
Help Aurix with his new career choice
Star Onion Brigade averts the Apocalypse
Vanadiel has a global warming problem
Fodder mobs spontaneously Transform and Dietmund thinks he knows what's causing it....
By Akumasama on 2025-12-01 03:14:17
I'm not sure how are you gonna deal with stuff like Zerde without Stun, or Erynis without the TP reset, or Schah... I mean Schah mechanics are easy if you kill it in less than 30 sec.
~1,3m HP.
Dealing 99k with every WS with just SV and Dia2 wouldn't be easy.
Then you'd need to do >13 WS in 30 seconds.
