While this no doubt plays a smaller role, the FFXIV crossover isn't insignificant. I've made a couple YT video guides for FFXI, and since the crossover started, the viewership demographic has skewed towards younger age brackets.
Granted, my viewership is a terrible sample size, but I don't think it's a coincidence.

It's a very flawed metric no matter how you look at it, lot of multiboxers tend to keep their gil on main character and not bother with AH on others. Probably a few hundred multibox chars that have never lapsed sub but don't currently have an active transaction.
On the other hand, renames count twice. A content ID can count twice if you delete character and remake it. Banned characters don't get purged, so if a farm method eats a ban roughly every month then they count as 3 characters even though it was 3 consecutive rather than contiguous.
Either way, it's considerably higher than the prior free logins. It's obviously because of the weapons. I would assume many are legitimate players rather than statistical noise. Whether those players stay remains to be seen.

That's not my problem if you can't stand not clicking on spoilers.

Recently i found a life trick that is quite obvious, but I hadnt thought before.
Instead walking 30 minutes to go to gym (and another 30 to come back), i could simply run and reduce the time to 10 minutes, and also cutting down my aerobics in 20 minutes, with a net gain in time of 1h.
When youre old, gaining one extra hour (maybe 4h weekly) is game changing.
Obviously this doesnt apply to you filthy nerds, that drive to get to the gym just across the street to so stationary bike…

do free log in campaigns really incentivize bringing back mulee?
They incentivize addicts to log in for 5 days, make one transaction, and then count on the numbers for 3 months. Not so much mules.
Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know transactions counted towards the numbers for 3 months.

There's going to be camps for MNKs WARs using club, camps for THF DRG DNC WAR and SAM using polearm, and camps for mages to nuke SAM and NIN using hyrid WS, and even camps where you can ranged attack use savage blade with tp bonus gun/bow.
I'm so excited.

Wait, I thought the player influx was from the new mules? Excuse my ignorance, but do free log in campaigns really incentivize bringing back mulee?

The best episode was the one she got shot in the head in.
I think this spoiler above
more incentivates you to check it than skip it by how it leaves in a cliffhanger

Giving away previously impossible to obtain weapons raised the player count.
Who could've ever guessed.
Ah, yes. 2018 - 2020, the first "Free Bonanza Weapon" Campaign... In all seriousness though, FFXI is getting some new players from the FFXIV crossover, along with some returning players thanks to the Bonanza Weapon and new Limbus. So, while I do think player numbers will go down, I don't think they'll fall back too dramatically.
Feel free to quote this in 6 months when the player count drops below 70k...

Giving away previously impossible to obtain weapons raised the player count.
People want to play, but see the game as too hard. So giving away things that make them stronger, and able to actually accomplish things will bring them back.
If the new Limbus is good for new and casual players they can maintain this, if not they won't.
Giving away things doesn't bring people back, unless they actually still care about the game in the first place. If Wow gave away free mounts and weapons, I still wouldn't go back cause I don't really care about wow anymore for instance.

Other than the horrific female co-lead, who won't be in season 2 thankfully, I liked Day of the Jackal.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. You can't trigger it if you do that.
Thankfully I don't use too many binds so I adjusted ok.

Ok, I messed stuffs...
I started reading Oshi no Ko thinking it was the "Rent a Girlfriend", but just now I saw the thumbnail of another youtuber bashing Rent a Girlfriend and... noticed my mistake.
Funny, and here I was thinking that at some point those high schoolers would start protitution and manipulation, as its hinted by the showbiz shows.
I suppose my expectations would never meet.

I started playing FF11 2 weeks ago and tried this addon. I don't think I can play FF11 without it anymore I'm a former FF14 player, and the UI/UX of FF11 kept me from playing it for years. The new update looks great. Thank you, Keylesta

Trust spells can absolutely resist. They just don't cast when their macc is low enough they would always resist.
When macc is borderline will see the odd resist from them.

I was going through various trusts for use on the Locus Ghost Crabs in Bibiki, to dispel their def boost... and I couldn't get most trusts to dispel at all. Ajido and ovjang included. They just.. never cast it when the mob had buffs up. Made me wonder if they just won't cast it if their magic hit rate is too low. Just like there are some enfeebles that they won't cast if they can't land it.
The only trust I was actually able to get to cast dispel at all was Arciela(1), but she also likes to AoE all the mobs in the vicinity and try to MPK me with them. <,<
Interestingly, I later moved to the Dhalmels, and KoH started using shuffle to dispel(not reliably, or anything, but he was never doing it at all on the crabs.) But seeing as I like the Dhalmels better when they berserk this was.. not very helpful. <,<; I didn't test, but I wonder if the other trusts would actually use dispel on the lower level Dhalmels? IIRC I was using ajido vs VE or E odin and he somewhat reliably used dispel when odin put up his dread spikes (even though not always quick enough to not still get 1 or 2 rounds of auto attacks in to kill myself)
I'd also suspect it's a meva thing where some trusts (or maybe all?) don't use the spell if chance is too low they can land it. Maybe crab version of shell also provides meva?
Could try and test it again on those crabs and bring a RDM with Frazzle III and see if ajido and ovjang start dispeling again? Maybe a Marine Stewpot also works. I can confirm that it is the trust’s perception of their own magic accuracy. I did this exact frazzle test when mastering my RDM and the trusts started dispelling just as soon as the mobs MEva dropped.
I think it’s been discussed before, but I don’t think trust spells resist? They just won’t cast them if they lack a certain level of accuracy. There is likely an exception here for Resist traits like sleeps on PLD mobs.

I'm pretty certain most trusts just don't try to dispel because they know if they can hit or not. Qutalda being my best evidence as he will use dark shot immediately when there's something to remove unless it will resist. And he never uses QD unless to enhance dia or to dispel.
