IMO, my perception of history is that we had the major exodus when they made obsolete the REMs at first.
Starting Ark Angels, I think the game started to feel more empty in the less popular servers.
Too much time has passed for me to really remember. I know a lot of the HNMLS on Shiva were butthurt about abyssea obsoleting their claimbot gear, but that was a minority of the server. We were booming when abyssea was released, I remember there were 50 people online in the LS, and we had closed recruitment months prior. Did abyssea for a few years, then voidwatch came out and when we figured out it was completely RNG, we all quit.
14 wasn't even a factor, just ignore RAs nonsensical ramblings.

I was in a big HNM shell, Abyssea made all our gear irrelevant overnight and you could do almost everything with 2-3 people if you had atma. All old content was instantly not worth doing, only Aby was worth doing.
Every HNM shell died in the 6 months after Aby was added, thse were some of the most hardcore forever players and they decimated the scene real quick.
There were about 10 maat cap players before Abysea, within 6 months they were countless to the point they were worthless cause of aby afk worm parties.
They broke every foundation of the game with Aby, to the point nobody would soon have anything to do and no endgame shells to keep them invested.

Square wanted to kill XI when XIV came out, they sped everything up fast so everyone could cap out their goals, killed all endgame shells, made everyone superpowered and gave XI players a free / merged sub to go play XIV.
At a point they realized most were not going to go, so they had to undo all the stuff they did or lose them to other games.
As much as I enjoyed Abyssea, it was obviously designed to be the end of the game.
It's honestly amazing the game is still alive at all and an amazing achievement of Matsui that he managed to claw it back, even I quit and went to play something else after a while and never intended to come back. If not for Rhapsodies I probably never would.

it would be nice if they added vendors for all spells, kind of an outdated concept at this point. if they wanted to curb people from popping coffers on spawn for gil and denying people who were doing AF the chance to get a coffer, fine. but when that same coffer is the only source of a scroll in the entire game, no bueno.
I used to sell ballad2 scrolls frequently, too. can pos to all the coffer spawns in under a minute and potentially make 1m+ for 5k gil investment. risky of course.

I feel like voidwatch caused more of an exodus than trusts and level sync. Suddenly needing thousands and thousands of heavy metal plates caused a lot of deactivations.

Star sybil's buff is obviously weaker than a real GEOs but her buff is active 100% of the time while a real GEO constantly will have to recast geo- bubbles due to position switching cause of miasmas.
I don't know but there is probably also the issue of a second body to cure/remove poison stacks when they stand in range for indi- to take effect?
Either way you'll always have some bubble down time with a real GEO and sub optimal play with pickups is simply a given.
Maybe he had to stay in backline cause of trusts not taking care of his poison stacks and I didn't get benefit of indi- at all. However, according to your numbers the real GEO should still have easily won with geo- buble alone so something doesn't add up.
I'm worried that if I had the same run with a regular GEO (no Idris or neck) we would have timed out and lost like 80% of galli for that run. Had around 4-5 minutes left after Dhartok.

The values used in Sortie are the values they always should have been really. People got used to OP and think sortie values are a nerf, but they are what they should be.

CR7 leaving because he is too tired is indeed a testimony of time.
He would never leave because of tiredness.
But even his body cant withstand the time.
He only managed to play 90 minutes at 39yo

Again I dont have any way to waching this nations league, and I would love to watch it for CR7 alone.
You can argue about the best player in world / story, but I dont think any footballer story is close to what this man is writing.
I so wish Portugal to be champion here

Afaik GEO initially only was that strong cause of a bug/mistake in the calculation which got found and fixed like ~2 years(?) after it's release or the implementation if Idris or something along those lines. The % based nerf on new content came on top of that bug fix.
They apparently are about to buff trusts:

Which I appreciate a lot cause it's long overdue.
But it raises the question - why should someone take a pickup GEO to sortie when even a Idris GEO with Bolster has trouble competing with star sybil - pre trust buffs?
It's not going to emphasis group play, which they also try to work on according to the picture above, if they leave it that way.

No they made it too OP in the first place which was their mistake. Never should have been so much def down so it could remain at normal values for new content.

I quit when XI evolved into something other than the game I knew. May I ask the what it was and when? I started at NA release. XI was a social game with forced grouping and a relatively slow pace. You had time to talk a bit between pulls.
I was in for 10+ years. The last notable change before I left was the introduction of iLevel gear. Combat moved way faster, the social side suffered. Friends dropped out or moved on and it was much harder to get to know people. Trusts made partying optional.
Mind you I was a career RDM with every vaguely useful subjob leveled. I was good enough to be the main RDM in a high end HMN LS despite my refusal to use voice chat. Getting parties was never a problem, I was decent at soloing, and when totally bored I could always level shield and archery skill. I was REALLY liking /sch which was fairly new at that point but I was disliking the combat and actively avoiding it.
At the end I was logging in to see if friends were on and playing with the mog garden. Not much else.

Best guess is you dropped a number from an ambient light setting.
Look for something like this in init.txt
Code game_forceambientlight 0
game_ambientlight 255 120 120 120
From https://docs.windower.net/commands/game/: Code game_forceambientlight <#> [0=Ignore, 1=Force]
game_ambientlight [A] <R> <G> <B>
I'm thinking that the last value for game_ambientlight is either missing or 255.
This was my first thought, but it's still set to 255 120 120 120 (and crucially, it is game_forceambientlight 0, and hitting my hotkey for toggling that to 1 does lighten everything).
I noticed the blue is also affecting spell/ability effects.

There is this little thing I have been wondering for a very long time. How exactly does a bald Hume wear and hairpin? Does he put it on his ear? Or he would glue it on top of his shinny bald head with some goblin glue?
Do you still call it a hairpin when you have no hair? Maybe a baldpin? Hairlesspin?

Youtube added a new feature to auto-dub in other languages if the uploader picks it, it's better than nothing but still amusing when it uses the wrong words.

Thanks for organizing this event, it was a lot of fun! Feels great to finally acquire that elusive title after so many years. It's refreshing to see that there's folks out there who still enjoy getting together to chase older, rare achievements like this.

Noone said out DD, it's just what people will do.
I mean people who feel the lack of camps for piercing DRG DNC THF, ranged cor Rng, MNK and mages in general will for sure go on those jobs, just because they miss it. We also don't know how it will work. Upgrade points might be job specific, so you will need to farm them playing the right jobs.
He's implying that people have let the crossed off jobs fall to the wayside because they're no longer meta. People really overrate the meaning of meta. Only because pugs are using mostly war in one event, doesn't mean none is playing those other jobs. THF is still highly used for solo farm, DNC is used for several endgame fights including being the required job for the most optimized farm of the most farmed endgame event. DRG is still highly used job for many fights, including few v25 and segments. Maybe less in pugs. Poeple also always use MNK when blunt damage is relevant and using slashing damage to replace ranged damage against ranged vulnerable target, doesn't make sense, so I will leave that as self explanatory. No ones saying Loxo WAR > MNK
Just saying some people people put their MNK stuff away, on storage slips or tucked away in storage, or even on mules, and they might eat the minor DPS loss (we have no idea what Nimbus will actually be) if it means not needing to *** their inventory up. I think Simon is underestimating judgement damage too.
