I'd be curious to see a video of Prime DRG lead Aminon run, just because. Apples to Apples type comparison.
Same honestly, and I'd really love to see a DNC COR BRD RDM GEO BLU teamcomp where the BLU tanks and DD's/buffs/debuffs where applicable (and cleaves flans faster?)
But most groups (mine included) would rather just keep getting out maxxed out/tried and true runs and progressing than mess around. No need to re-invent the wheel so to say

You guys are over here like all Aeonics are A-tier. There's no way Khatvanga is A-tier.
Speaking of reading comprehension tests: I'm sorry but who the *** said that?
You just say a blanket statement like all Aeonics should be A-tier and I'm like, really?
Seems like you think it's me, but I never said anything even remotely close to that.
I'd put Gay Build at B or A tier. I know you said specifically in relation to Drg, but the tierlist is all the weapons across all the jobs and that includes what the job brings to the table versus what jobs can even wield the weapon to begin with.
So if Ghorn os bad when you include primes (assume F-tier), but good when you don't (assume A or S), then overall would it not make sense tonput it somewhere in the middle? C-tier.
Again...you don't seem to have understood my point. You either making a list with all the weapons (including primes) or you're not. We're not making a list that's an average of two lists. We're making one list. If it includes primes then that will affect the ranking of the other REMA. YOU are the one flip-flopping on whether or not primes are included, to suit your argument. I insisted that you should be consistent with the way you apply your logic.
It's not because I wanna play greatswodd War over Drk because there's some specific fights where you need Drk to mitigate TP feed to the enemy, no? So maybe in one or two fights Drk outshines War, but overall which weapon are you getting the most bang for your buck. Which has the greatest effective value.
Absolutely not. If you rank weapons by "how often do I play this job" it makes the list meaningless. Dropping a weapon's tier because the job isn't in the meta often enough is pointless for someone who's working on their NIN. What do they give a ***if WAR is used in more fights, or DRK is? They are trying to decide between WEAPONS, not JOBS.

Yandaime doesnt understand opportunity cost either.
To these people who dont understand opportunity cost, I must ask: how would you feel if you didnt eat breakfast today?
You will literally never see a difference in performance between a WAR +1 and +2 Neck -Not even in a parse- What? lol
You telling me that
Accuracy+20 Attack+20 STR & DEX +12 "Dbl. Atk." +6%
is no different from
Accuracy+25 Attack+25 STR & DEX +15 "Dbl. Atk." +7%
Capping double attack on warrior is very easy. If you're attack capped as well and don't need accuracy either, the difference in these necks is literally 3 strength and 3 dex. I'm not saying you'll parse exactly the same, but this was my reasoning why I didn't bother saving up for or upgrading to the +2. The difference is so minimal in certain situations it makes no difference.
Now what I will state is that the obvious difference between the two necks provides a degree of gearing versatility that allows you to improve or innovate elsewhere, so the +2 is not worthless. But in a parse scenario, it's basically a distinction without a difference that likely won't show up in the parse at all.

RNG/MNK/SAM/DNC/DRG/THF/BST/DRK/NIN were all worth it.
-Some of these are basically "Yo, here is some STP/PDL"
-DRG gets Wyvern DT-25% which is kinda neat.

Tbh DRG with Gea Buide should be seriously strong for Aminon. Jumps don't feed any tp and you can use all 4 of them, then use SP2, then use each jump again 3 times in 30 sec, then Random deal and Wild card and Random deal again. This is tons of tp gain from those jumps and potentially 7-9 99k Diarmuid in very short time. Then you can also go /drk on DRG and spam absorb-tp,
The meta is DNC, because its simply the best at dishing out high damage WS's and generating its own tp at the fastest rate... with Steps.... On Top of general utility throughout the run... however you're not wrong.
Initially, before the DNC meta, DRK and THF were the most common DD's to kill aminon. DRK provided stronger drains for more control as well as big numbers on its own. THF had SA/TA WS's, making it similar to DNC, but at a slower pace (but stronger TH for Meso)
After that, most people just simply gave up and settled on the path of least resistance... however, I know for a fact more strategies have been put to use to great or decent success.
There's the single MNK strat, the Double MNK strat, as well as subbing in a DRG as the DD. DRG has access to Convert dmg to TP armor, as well as better jumps as you mentioned which can also drain TP. I know its been done, the problem is that it translates to a slower aminon kill so most dont toy around with it.
Many speculate BLU can replace a tank in the comp as well, and I'm sure other jobs can get it done.
Nariont's point is completely accurate. People just prefer to go with the fastest because it makes the potential for higher Galli per run possible. When given the option of Every other day Aminon vs Every Day aminon, people will pursue a strategy that allows the latter.
---
Now as far as this is relevant to a "Weapon Tier List" discussion... i'd rather not contribute to it going off the rails further than it already has. The conversation is already stifled with plenty of debates as to what job is or isnt good, which seems to defeat the point and spirit on the topic.
I dont think its relevant to say Gae Buide is better or worse because theoretically it could be used on a boss, that simply NO ONE uses it for. It's already undeniably the best polearm, so why can't we just leave it at that?
I was specifically answering mhomho, who said he would prefer war rng and Sam over Gea Buide DRG for Aminon, which seems really strange to me. I wasn't suggesting to go DRG over DNC.

You can do several angons back to back with Random Deals and wild card and another random deal. You could also technically go /DNC for 13% def down box step. I don't think being /DRK is an requirement, since DNC isn't /DRK in this fight and it works.
I was playing on the assumption that angon might not get rerolled since youll have jump/spirit/soul/high all competing for resets, entirely possible to get it back atleast once though

The only real "lacking" thing for ami specifically is no box step to push everyone elses dmg up, you could instead angon, maybe do jump under spirit surge though that means spirit/soul get nerfed so could throw that in towards the end.
Pretty sure any DD can do ami, some will just be faster than others. its just can they do ami + 8 boss effectively

Imo PKD's core theme is really all about social commentary. He challenged the power structure of the society and the reality/identity brought by technology. As well as man-made entity's role within the human society. Quite a lot of mid century SF is social commentary. Remember this was the height of the cold war and still quite conscious of the late unlamented House Un-American Activities Committee.
The theme that appears most often in PKD's works is WTF IS real anyway? This starts in his earliest work, way before his druggy period. The first story he wrote "Roog" goes there big time. Its PoV character is a dog.
For those interested in his work I recommend any of his short story collections. Do NOT start with the novel "Valis."

Accuracy+20 Attack+20 STR & DEX +12 "Dbl. Atk." +6%
is no different from
Accuracy+25 Attack+25 STR & DEX +15 "Dbl. Atk." +7%
That these two items will parse identically:
Accuracy+25 "Kick Attacks" attack +15 DEX & MND +12 Kick Attacks +20 Physical Damage Limit +8%
Accuracy+30 "Kick Attacks" attack +20 DEX & MND +15 Kick Attacks +25 Physical Damage Limit +10%
Come the *** on. You're either *** stupid or just trolling. If you're not actually going to participate in the conversation, what are we even doing here? Because I literally said SOME of the Necks aren't worth the full Upgrade. SOME, not ALL, never said none of them. Who here said anything about MNK Neck being not worth it? Wasn't me.
WAR Neck with today's gearing options isn't going to bring any meaningful returns. 5 Acc 5 Atk 3 STR 3 DEX and 1% Double Attack is not going to make a *** to a full Sakpata Set for TP and a Full/Nearly full R25 or R30 Nyame for WS. Again, you keep twisting my words into saying to use a full set of Ambu gear or something silly, literally no one has said that this entire time.
I'll say it again, in a maxed out set it will not matter if your WAR Neck is +1 or +2. It just won't. So if you were a Career DRK or DRG or something and just happen to pop onto WAR for shiggles, having a +1 Neck will not matter. Back when it came out, it was the ***but now? Not so much.
MNK Neck is a different story: Kick Rates, Damage and PDL go up. THATS a good purchase.
GEO Neck increases further increases Loupon Duration and further adds to the Loupon's survivability, thats a good purchase, especially if no Idris.
RDM Neck maximizes Magic Accuracy, Enfeeb Potency, Enfeeb Duration and Ehancing Duration, Thats a good purchase. I would dare say mandatory.
WHM Neck adds more -Enmity, Fast Cast and Cure Potency which are things WHM has an abundance of options for so this one isn't as powerful as the rest. The only hard requirements WHM has is Capped Cure Pot, Some Cure Pot II, Empy Body, Empy Legs, and a capped DT Idle with Refresh, and there's about a dozen ways to get that to make a viable WHM so this one I would say might not be worth one's time. But that's only the opinion of a person who dislikes playing WHM in general so feel free to disregard.
So no, you've been wound up over something you thought I said but didn't because reading isn't your thing.
I said to discern cost vs value, and you somehow got "All HQs are bad.. Opportunity Costs!" Great Job.

Call me elitist gate keeper if you want I'm pro-gatekeeping on IPs I strongly care about.
I use ChatGPT today, and I was so shocked that all those were predicted in BR 2049 few years before ChatGPT. And I would say BR 2049 is also very "PKD style" because of this.
This kind of social commentary about the technology, IMO, is what the core theme really is. I'm glad you came to the conclusion that good literature can sometimes predict change and offer insightful social commentary, which (as I recall) is a different attitude towards the topic from the one you had 2 years ago in a conversation we had.

Changing the lead actor is in the book, that's the whole story. It's the same guy, different body - or should be.
But Anthony Mackie was a wrong choice, and was very jarring compared to Season 1's lead.

That second season of altered carbon fell off hard though.
Ender's game, the movie skips half the book, the entire B story.
They recasted the lead actor for some reason that I don't remember. I think they brought in Anthony Mackie and it just tanked. Outside of playing Falcon that guy just doesn't have it.

Simon, if you want to objectively end the discussions: mathout every weapon's DPS and then math out the presumed percentile increase of each support weapon. I'm just spit balling, but if Honor is over a 15% increase to your team's overall damage whereas a weapon is +/-5% you could make a very clearly objective tier list base upon numbers.
For you question? Aminon.

I know you said solo and mentioned other members interrupting your SCs, but have to ask ; are you using trusts that WS/SC with you, or purely support trusts?
Yeah, this is a potential concern. For Limbus, since I'm stuck with 3 trusts, I usually use Sylvie, Monberaux, and Arciela, none of them interrupt me. For other content, I like to use King of Hearts and Qultada, and yeah, sometimes Qultada can get in the way. He doesn't build TP nearly as fast as me, so it's usually not a big concern, but something to be mindful of.
He for sure means self SC with 3 x Imperator killing a mob. With stronger buffs 3x Expiacion also kill a mob in Limbus, so Tizona is faster, 3 x imperator with high buff will overkill a mob in limbus with darkness damage doing much more than required to kill, but just 2x Imperator has no chance to kill it, unless maybe on some mob which takes extra damage from dark or earth. In low buff scenario I can see 3x Imperator killing a mob in limbus with SC damage and 3x Expiacion not being enough with undercappef attack.
Yes, exactly this.

It's there, you're already doing it
You're choosing to spend time doing Ambu and not doing other things.
Which is the entire point. You're spending a currency, which is your time.
If you had a better gil making thing to do, would you not do that? Would that not then change what you think a +2 is worth?

People ***on 2049 before it's out. People ***on the OG film and said the book is better. Even the writer of the book trashed Ridley Scott's film for quite some time because he didn't like the film direction, then he changed his opinion in the end. I am a HUGE P. K. *** fan. I read the book long before the movie came out. I liked the movie and I understand just why *** trashed the movie.
1, The movie took vast liberties with his plot.
2, The movie had a hero. P. K. ***'s works rarely have have heroes.
3, The name of the book is "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" The name, Bladerunner, was bought from an Alan E. Nourse book.
I also understand why he came around to liking the movie.
While the move did rewrite much of the plot it stayed true to his vision and the questions proposed in the book. None of those questions were the title question BTW.
IMHO the movie was much more accessible* than the book. ***'s books and even his short stories can be heavy reading.
*in the literary meaning.

Maybe specifically in the case of Drg it's good, but in relation to all the jobs, I'd say there are other DD's I'd rather bring like Drk, War, Sam, Rng, and mages.
Here we go again... again? Do you want to tier weapons or jobs? Where would you want to bring war Sam rng and drk over drg and why?
