I'm gonna go out on a limb here: Green.
Ignoring +0 and +1, the mog wardrobe colors go blue, yellow, green, red, ect. I'm going to guess they go green.

Axe+1 offhand is slow, I tried it years ago and was never impressed. Blurred knife+1 was decent pacing for multi step on BST, but back when I was experimenting , I started with Ridill offhand first. It's terrible for damage, but it's all about fast TP, and it wasn't terrible. Ternion is a reasonable option as well that's probably better overall, but I've found multi attack builds on BST are unreliable for self SC, even ones mixed with STP. Once I got a kraken club, there's no real competition for offhand weapon, it's really a must have for BST if you're looking to keep up DPS wise. Supper fun too. I've also gone ikenga's/barb+1, and under the right circumstances, it hits like a TRUCK, but man is it super slow to get TP solo without Sam roll.

Axes just have terrible delay in general, making dual wielding them on BST a slog

play GEO most of the time for sortie, so AF legs & relic legs/feet are being made even if there's barely any difference simply because red box.
hope the AF hands get some physical acc so I can TP in those.
By Dildonunchucks on 2025-06-09 23:09:11
Out of the jobs i play doing SAM first
Got my fingers crossed for the relic +4 hands and feet

But maybe the Artifact +4 might be better
Have to wait and find out

Well i wouldn't want them to change much to FFXI
Maybe just more quality of life adjustments

What i meant was like bring the game up to 2025
Things like HD graphics
Stuff along those lines

I would also like to play on console again

I'll pay full price for this one, for the 4th time. Love this game and super excited about a hard mode.

Yeah I don't give a ***, I'm buying this game and might get it on multiple platforms. Have WOTL on my phone and it has great replay value for the couple of bucks I bought it for. Been my favorite game for years and I always enjoy replaying it. I've spent more on wristbands at the state fair for my kids than the cost of this rerelease. Just extract the damn money from my bank account...lol

When you say you swap to pet pdt gear, im assuming all slots but weapon, or at that point you don't even care about losing tp?
Arthur is extremely squishy against phys. dmg, and pulls in dynaD these days count 3-4 statues (hi there Xicu, thanks for the nightmares), so im surprised the slug even survives lol.

Yeah, I have my weapon locked.
Arthur is not super squishy to physical damage, but there is plenty of mobs in dynamis so yeah, he goes down if you don't have high pet pdt set on and all the mobs come for him.

but w/ so many dd's buffed, the mobs go down quickly also. like 6 are dead by the time I release my pdt set.

It's time for a 2025 remake

Hell no! FFXI does not need a remake. It's fine as it is. You can never recreate what FFXI did throughout its entire life. Not everything needs a remake.
and I just posted this this morning...

If you ignore the obvious problem(s)

The fact that Africans have so many artifacts from the rest of the world in their museums?

Heritage Repatriation Simulator.

Well, it sounds more appealing than power washing a fence I guess.

Epic Games publishing a new game, it's about a bunch of black people looting from museums. It's called relooted, pre-order now!
Lol I thought that was a joke when I saw it.. can't make this stuff up
Someone did.

While the Insane Difficulty board had their own approach to making tactics challenges appealing (before the more prevalent "Hard Mode" fanpatches that we may see more of nowadays), it still left a splinter in which tactics port delivered the "best" way to engage with the base game.

To those who would like a more complete package (including the online content), whether it be the PSX or PSP that left a better impression, there is an option that can let you get the best of both worlds.

I've never liked fanbase projects of hard modes. It's like fans with zero video game creation experience are also bad at creating hard mode who would have thought. Is filled with ugly recolors and so many silly mechanics that are just punishing for no reason. It's not really hard when the whole thing is against you. Most fan games I just completely avoid because they're all pretty terrible.

An old LS-mate of mine came across my youtube feed, so I came back again after romanticizing the game for a bit haha.

I would argue it's not even a case of the pace of the game speeding up so much as it is the game no longer expecting you to spend literal hours not doing anything until you can find other human beings to do the thing you want to do.
And how this is not speeding the game up?

I think there's a better term than 'speeding the game up'. Some people are referring to how accessible content is (ie. using an item to force a spawn rather than camping for possibly 3 hours that only requires 3 minutes of attention). Other people are referring to speed as a measure of how active players are during combat.

I don't see the relation.

I'm looking forward to playing it. If it is too expensive for you just wait for a discount. I'll be buying it on release because I haven't played it in over 20 years and it was one of my favorite games back in the day. Oh also, I like what SE is doing and want them to continue.

FF1 of course was named because it was their last ditch effort before leaving the business, and it worked.

This is, of course, a myth and not true.

Quote:
Initial Idea:
They considered "Fighting Fantasy" as a name, but it was already trademarked by another company.
Last Resort:
As a result, they chose "Final Fantasy" as a temporary name while they brainstormed further.

In Dynamis on bst, I'm usually with a full alliance. I usually bring arthur and melee.

I usually parse it too. I have a fantastic pet MAB set. I usually hit corrosive ooze on the whole crowd right after pld tank spawns a statue or 3. (I also swap to pet pdt set until pld or other take enough hate off my pet).

I find that in wave 1, Arthur generally does as much total damage as I do. which surprises the competitive dd types on the parse because It puts me in 1st or 2nd when I actually add my totals. Pet damage drops off significantly on wave 2, even though it still keeps me in high standing for a dd in the alliance.

However, it is a bit more cumbersome starting fights this way and keeping pet alive if you don't cycle your pet pdt set on for first 20s of each pull.

As far as Aymur and Primal Rend goes, the damage is fantastic but the biggest hit to it is actually the double darkness weather that is permanently in dynamis. IIRC its also always there in Odyssey and Sortie. A sch keeping aurorastorm II on your is a HUGE boon.
If I actually had storm spell, wizards and sam roll, and just use either Zhivago or Bredo as a pet, I'm going to be slamming around 60k primal rend without any geo buffs.
Which means I want to be in a party w/ leaden corsairs, Trueflight Rng, Seraph Blade RDM's for dd's and It fits in quite perfectly for buffs.

I bring arther mainly for the party-wide benefits. attack -33% and def -33% is wonderful alliance support. the AoE damage is just gravy. I think In wave 1 I usually do 11k AoE damage, and in wave 2 its 6k~8k. thats just because higher levels. I also burst 40k on a commander mob the other day which was fun w/ no pet buffs or mdb down at all.

Other pets can be wonderfully fun in dynamis as well. Roland's Jettatura is remarkably effective with double dark weather, making freezing ninjas or other mass aoe damage type mobs completely helpless for plenty of time to rip them apart before they go boom.

Nihility Song is also an underused gem when it comes to claiming large, spread out groups. like 3~4 statues all spread out... you REALLY need your pet pdt set for something like that though.

As far as building tp for the pet, its rather useless. just use the abilities whenever you need them.

ALL ready moves execute at 1000 tp no matter the actual tp of the pet. All warrior type pets (the vast majority of pets are warriors) have fencer trait which means they automatically have over 1500 tp for EVERY ready move.
Nukumi Manoplas +3 add 700 to this so you can always do at least 1700~2200 tp for EVERY ready move. With Aymur this goes up another 500 (yes, only 500 guaranteed, the other 500 is a bit nerfed) so 2200~2700 tp with 2 pieces of equipment all the time.

at most if pet has 800 tp on the meter, then it will always be 3k tp if using both Aymur and Nukumi hands +3. TP bonus equipment covers all the building tp needs for ready moves. and you get charges in 10s. Thats not nearly enough time to build up tp on pet. so its really not worth fussing over beyond having the gear in your ready gear set.

The sch keeping up aurorastorm is pure genius, i've never even considered the idea.
