Bolter's Roll is only really relevant in caves/dungeons/town. Not insignificant, but a large portion of the overworld is outdoor zones where mounts are allowed, so unless you're trying to enjoy zone music or do Voidwalkers it's kinda ehh.
For towns/dungeons you can use Sprinter's Shoes + Movement speed gear on any job for 22~28% movement speed. 24~30% with Cactuar cheer.
I'd go with BLU/dnc or even BLU/brd(Raptor Mazurka is +10% speed and you get to hear your lovely singing voice). Any dungeon/cave you get agro in, you can just cast Subduction and continue moving without engaging at all. 18% movement speed option in Carmine Cuisses+1, so you don't gotta sandbag the entire Adoulin mission line to get your movement speed (I mean COR can wear these too but...)
BLU can cap its magic haste on its own, too, if you really need it. Like for a quest NM fight or something. Most high end BLU physical spells put most quest mobs in the grave pretty quickly too. It's like the one area they get to shine in, old content with low HP pools. Don't even gotta engage.

Does anyone have any data on the duration of the Melt Kukri/Knife defense down effect?
I've been testing it out on Locus Ghost Crabs today, and it seems to be tier 2 defense down. Able to overwrite Scissorguard, but also seemingly able to be overwritten by it... (this I am unsure of tbh, I don't see the defense down effect wearing off in my log, but I am not sure whether it's up or not when Scissorguard happens).
I'd actually never seen the enchantment effect icon, which looks sick.
I'm also curious to know if the Kukri has a higher potency than the knife. I've only got the knife right now, because I do not have alchemy skilled up/none on AH.

ok, so most of the time it gives 2% but in rare cases it gives 4%!

going to see the wicked double feature tomorrow. i haven't meaningfully celebrated my birthday for the sake of it in over 10 years, and i haven't seen the stage play either. i'm hoping this will be some fun! 
Had a good time and thoroughly enjoyed both features. :) |

Well a guy at discord did say a big was found that "causes the wrong window to get focus after alt tabbing" we are not sure if this is infact the root cause of the issue that people have been seeing but that is just some more info we know
guy at Discord? There is a guy who works at discord in the windower discord. |

Do you know what they mean by "Cosmic orb"? I tried trading a spent Microcosmic orb and nothing happened.

Canceled a Vanquish Omen task yesterday on my Mule, it was on my list today again. I hit cancel, now it shows "Unwanted Orbs" cancelled and I can't do it lol

I've run into something similar however it has not affected FFXI for me - rather it has been a bother for Notepad++. Frequently when I alt-tab to it from FFXI (possibly others as well but I notice it primarily from the game) it will behave as though the alt key is still pressed and when I start to type it instead tries to navigate the menus with my keypresses.
A bit of googling led me to https://superuser.com/questions/1700798/windows-11-alt-tab-keeps-alt-pressed where they suggested PowerToys or other applications that 'register global keyboard hotkeys' as possibly causing the issue. I do have PowerToys running and if I exit PowerToys, Discord and Steam that maybe reduces its frequency. But what really seems to cause it to occur most regularly is how quickly I press and release Alt-Tab. If I press them and then tab through some of the windows it doesn't seem to occur at all. If I have just FFXI and NP++ open and very rapidly tap the buttons to swap back and forth then it happens very regularly. Or if I just pause briefly and don't release the Alt button until NP++ has taken focus then it seems fine as well. |

Retested, it does appear to be 3% based on this check:
Gear +18%
Bolters+7 Roll 9 (+32%)
1.18*1.32 + 0.02 = 1.5776 (+56%) or 1.18*1.32 + 0.03 = 1.5876 (+58%)
Targetinfo gives +58% movespeed under this condition

Huh, I wonder if this is the cause for a strange behavior for Controller/Hybrid I’ve been seeing only just recently. I always just move the mouse and click on the window of whichever alt to control them directly but lately it’s been attempting to clone all inputs across all characters, movements and all lol. Can be useful in some instances but not when I can’t control it 0_0.
The work-around I found was the click anywhere on the desktop background BEFORE attempting to select another character lol hopefully this is just something weird with Discord and this change fixes the shenanigans. Thanks for that.

Hello all,
making a post here since this is being pervasive.
A lot of people are reporting an issue where they are unable to alt+tab across FFXI instances. There's a few different flavors of the issue, but most of them appear to be caused by the discord overlay.
Try to disable the discord overlay for FFXI, and see if it solves the issue. You don't need to disable it entirely, you can just disable it for FFXI specifically.
Phew I'm glad it wasnt just me having this problem. It was ongoing for a good week until I figured out it was discord's fault and did this fix x.x |

I didn't even notice it says "Phoenix Down" until you said so. For me it was just "Ah, that bunch of items" because they're all used for the first reforging at Monisette.

When you complete yesterdays objective, todays objective becomes available. They did not *** up this time.
Is it not the case that if I kept "Sparks of Eminence (VBD)" active through the week, come next Sunday I can spend Sparks to complete it and it'll be replaced by that day's Daily?
Vana'bout challenge period is until 12/1 so if I complete Sparks VBD on 11/23 won't it be replaced with daily for 11/24? Then complete that and get daily for 11/25 etc? |

set Allow Windows Key to ON in the windower launcher, it is on the advanced page of the profile settings iirc Will try this when I get home, thank you either way. |
