60k ep would be crazy, there's a reason we can only do 1 pinkies per day. Imagine being able to do pinkies 8 times a day for a week.

Is this a per NM reward or a one type participation per month reward?

Because if it's per NM, then that's x22 for the people who play on spawn time, 220k EP and 66k units. Pretty hefty monthly bonus

/DRG is the best, imho, because of the WSD boost and also the situational utilities of jumps.

/SAM is situational, /WAR is very generic and works. I prefer /DRG but /WAR ain't that bad.

At the very very very least they should drop a large amount of EP and a small amount of Units.

This would affect only people who took part and/or are in zone at the moment it's killed.
Which is a bit of a kick in the bollux for people who took part earlier but then went away, but given how the reward is so small and generic I doubt a lot of people would "feel" like they're missing out big.
It wouldn't be a big incentive of course, and it doesn't need to be, but it would be at least "something". The fact they don't even give EP a mob of their ilevel would give is beyond preposterous, if you ask me.

Development follow-up.

I've rewritten a large part of all components and will deploy it later today or tomorrow Monday.

I'm happy to report that it will be more automated now and tested with and without Superwarp (I've gotten reports some part of the old version wouldn't behave as expected in certain scenarios).

It will automatically detect the NM from afar, where I got some ideas from https://codeberg.org/svanheulen/limbus

It will also update the backend automatically if a second scan no longer detect a NM/??? but are still active in the database and mark them expired - This require more testing but we ran out of NMs on Shiva... Lol

I've tried to retain as much as possible so it will be backward compatible but an addon update will be required long-term.

I'll make another update when everything is live and you will notice when loading the addon since it will run a version check on load.

There, you have (at least) 72% FC even with no subjob, plus light arts, can use full potency, only spend 1 second in your cure potency set (the least amount possible), and are back in your idle set right away, all in one macro.

If you're putting Hvergelmir in your midcast cure sets, you're doing it very, very wrong.

Trying to figure out the new limbus NM works now?

- Is everyone screw for the month?

- Is it last week that count?

- Does it reasses the count every week like before but reset at the end of the month (or update)?

- What is everyone point of view?

So far, on Phoenix, 2 weeks ago all NM got kill and had about a 50% drop, last week barely any NM got kill and it’s totally trash, like sub 10 if not 5. After the monthly update, no difference to that trash drop, can say later after the Sunday “reset”.

Vanilla users often (not always) forego having precast/midcast sets, and just cram some fastcast in their midcast sets. This goes especially for spell with already natural low casting times.

Ukonvasara - I have awesome memories with this weapon, starting from completely dominating Abyssea with it, then Voidwatch, making it 99lv seconds after the update that made it possible and finally playing with my favorite white damage builds in current times. Also Galka Ukko's Fury animation is just amazing.

Verethranga - Pretty much the same story as Ukonvasara, but while I prefer MNK theme much more than WAR, I can't forget that Veret is only Empy weapon gutted from being able to proc aftermath on all hits or at least all hits with one hand.

Apocalypse - Imo it's by far the best-designed weapon in FFXI (spoiler: alongside Tizona). It looks the best, it has the best looking/sounding WS, it fits the job lore the most, it has great utility and was by far the highest dps at some point. Ofc it's now overpassed by Foenaria in some aspects (still missing JA haste and gold>black :P), but Foenaria it's just an upgraded idea.

Tizona - Same arguments as for Apocalypse, except Expiacion doesn't look as cool as Catastrophe, but it aged much better not being overpassed by anything.

Do you mean FC sets, or are you genuinely putting Hvergelmir in your cure sets? Regardless of gearswap or not, you should never cast a cure in a Hvergelmir.

Anyone have an up to date fast blade II set for geomancer? Been searching everywhere but cant find one.

Since we're going down this rabbit hole: i think it's much easier to get more CF WS out when you have Samurai roll. Without it, it takes way more jumps/attack rounds to hit 1k TP, so it's harder to squeeze in the third.

With Samurai roll, it's very trivial to get a 3rd WS in with some combination of an attack round, NFR, and a jump. Without the roll, it's less of a guarantee, IME.

Yes. But unless you WS Disengaged, it's hard to get 5-6 WS unless you disengage or turn or something. That's why I said 3, because first WS will be boosted, Rf for second, might trigger an auto attack, that burns 1-2 more crits, jump/high jump burns more, etc. Gearswap gives an insane and unintended advantage where you'd normally only be able to squeeze 3 out vs a sortie boss or something you're kiting, or Aminon. Unless I'm doing something very wrong, that's usually how a Climactic plays out on DNC for myself and others I've watched.

Honestly, seeing as they have been reusing low level models for actual gear, I totally expect we could eventually get a 119 weapon that says "Unlocks Knights of Rotund true potential" (or something) and the WS is suddenly actually pretty good.

The player survey and all their other metrics also show exceedingly clearly that the playerbase LOVES when SE reuses/upgrade old stuff in new ways.

With the exception of Sortie, it should have been in Rakaznar Inner, not outer, dammit.
