"As part of these updates, we are adding a new kind of points that are based on how much damage you inflict against the notorious monsters.
This points system is a direct response to your request for a reward structure tied to actions such as inflicting damage on the notorious monsters within Limbus. Once you have earned the required number of points, you will be able to open one additional treasure chest. This will increase the pace at which you can earn the matter needed to reforge your equipment. Plus, these points do not expire, so you can keep them until they're needed. Additionally, the Grace buffs within Limbus increase incrementally depending on the total number of treasure chests opened in the World, so the more that are opened, the stronger the effect will be.
These points are awarded not only when you inflict damage on the notorious monster, but when your party members do as well. I recommend you form a party and take on the monsters together if you're using a job with lower attack strength."

Has anyone bothered to see if the legs give an extra favor tier? If delay goes below 20 seconds? You can do it with the NQ. Otherwise, is there any value in the new limbus armor? Only body looks close, but I'm not sure. Is the +1 to avatar level worth anything?

Gold box. Got a single shard, nothing else, across two characters. Both were 3k boxes at 135. Did 119 previously and got several drops on both, 3k + 5k (though the 5k wasn't anything special).

Actually, speaking of MMM, trying to farm a Lycopodium Earring is driving me insane. Someone give me a hand with this, let me know if I'm missing anything. I am literally, no exaggeration, 0/345 so I must be (love you, mazecount.lua, thanks to Kayte who posted that!)
I am currently using this:
  
(in text form, that's 7, 14, 16, 17, 18, 100, nothing else - 7 for plantoid, 14 to make it the Flytrap, 16 to allow Lycopodium Earring to drop, 17+18 are higher level, 100 is go faster / more rewards)

I have also tried:
-using 13 (Great Warrior) instead of 14 (Tiny Warrior), which gives the Goobbue instead of the Flytrap.
-adding combinations of 101 (less time), 104 (no spells), 103 (no abilities) to get more marbles.
I have not tried:
-094 (Lost and Found) because per Byrth's research (and hey you just posted here maybe you can confirm this):

I just noticed the New Years guide is missing directions for how to get Hoary Spire during the event.
I've copied this from the the 2008 New Years Guide:

Each nation has a child NPC(first three listed above) who will want a New Year's Gift [trade the Ixions in the starting areas] obtained from the other event. Choose the option "give you something from my pocket" and you will obtain a Battledore which will be necessary for the next portion of the mini-quest. If you choose any other option, you will have to obtain another New Year's Gift to proceed. Repeating the quest after obtaining the Battledore will grant you various fireworks. Using the New Year's Gift on yourself will give various effects depending on the language the gift was written in:
"Happy New Year!" gives fishing support
"Bonne Annee!" gives Question
For the next portion of the mini-quest you will need to board the Airship in Jeuno toward Windurst or Windurst toward Jeuno and find Dilauriome who is standing on the upper floor of the airship. If you equip the Battledore he will request a sheet of Bast Parchment and two jars of Black Ink. Trade him these items to obtain the furnishing item Hoary Spire. |

So yeah, I'm a wee bit skeptical of "I got 7 drops from a 3k box" and am more inclined to believe they hit a 5k box with capped units. I've been cucked by seven 3k boxes this week and not one has contained more than three total items: Shard (seems guaranteed 1x from 3k box, 2x from 5k box), Hydro Oil, and Matter. I have never been capped. |

Can't believe so many people are capped on units. I mean, I can, but still.
Being capped on units doesn't really imply anything. You could be capped on units and only have done a handful of climbs (if any) just by grabbing the ??? every couple days. |

Ok so after some messing around, I am able to get FFXI + Windower + Reshade working on both a 32-bit and 64-bit prefix on Ubuntu. Laptop was a quad core intel cpu, 16GB of ram and a 960M with 2GB of VRAM (yes it's old). Display was 1440p, without reshade it was 40~60 FPS, reshade brought it down to 30~40 FPS with my presets. Was also able to get other unspecified third party tools working flawlessly.
Ended up using a simple startup script that an icon on mydesktop points to. Both start-ffxi.sh and start-ffxi64.sh just reference their specific prefixs and install locations.

Winetricks made this easy by just clicking to install the requirements from the FFXI linux page, only using dotnet48. Ubuntu has wine / winetricks available so just apt get wine wine64 winetricks. Then type in winetricks and you can create a new prefix, mount folders into prefixs, and install libraries and run explorer.exe where you install FFXI / Windower exactly the same way you do on MS Windows. |

This is exactly the opposite. Farming sets will cockblock you from farming earring for years. |

Sure, but there are like...9 or more of some of the mats up. Enough to make serious attempts at them.
Except jackasses are trying to charge 5-10m per mat, and price fixing them to encourage others to do it. Obviously it will get better with time, just venting. |
