They give price before you select destination, so offering free transfer would likely require overhauling the interface. There's some middle ground in between "Locking servers to force you to pay" and "Doing extra work to save you money at our own expense". They still make plenty off of people who buy gil on Asura(now Bahamut too) to get AH items and transfer to their own server.

I think they should really *** with us and give us not only 18 man content again but give it with a three flavor restriction
Have to beat all three wings or something to challenge the mega boss
1st wing three types of close range damage slashing piercing blunt
2nd wing magic only
3rd ranged only
Mega boss staged version of all three
Force some annoyed job diversity on us

The game population on all servers has been higher at various points. I don't recall a time when Asura was as high as it was immediately before the lockdown. Obviously, only highest matters much here.
Congestion in instanced content has been worse than now, too. Sortie participation is probably at the highest it's been on Asura, since it's a difficult piece of content and people gradually approach the ability to do it while those doing it don't really cap out. It's also an hour long, and you pretty much don't finish early.
The worst I can recall instances performing was during delve era all the way back in 2014. I suspect a large part of the reason we haven't gotten more substantial 18-man content is because of the problems there. Obviously, the amount of data sent goes up exponentially in a larger group since each player needs each other player's actions and position/health changes. Has there been any 18-man instanced content since delve and incursion?
ome of the infrastructure changes they made a year or so ago is causing load problems that didn't exist on bare metal Virtualization always has an overhead, so certainly a valid theory. But, it's not like the server never ran up against these problems before. I wouldn't have too hard a time believing that they avoided it this long by just avoiding the most demanding types of content (alliances in instances).

XI has a bare minimum dev team now, Yohi-P simply will not give them enough staff to run the game properly. They are trying to spread the players out more because the game isn't designed to be the way it is, given how few staff they have this is the best you're gonna get. Close servers off from new players that fill up, and hope they move along to the next one. They will close Odin in the next few months I would guess too.

I'm actually kind of curious... what are some of the unintended consequences of locking down Asura? It's affected other servers like Bahamut, yeah, but I remember hearing people theorize that Asura's economy would be affected.
Interested to hear if it's had any unforeseen side effects from people playing on Asura.

SE doesnt want to change, and can only come up with some bad strategies to deal with it, bad developers, bad servers

Trying to cut streaming services cold turkey and I'm going to need more drives to pirate more TV shows. Like I have my stuff but the kid really likes some trash shows that go on far too long.
Check out Jellyfin. It's a free multidevice media player service, like PLEX but not absolutely horrible (like PLEX). You can to put together a very cheap PC that you can use as a server. You can stream inside your local network to any device and you can download the files to those devices for offline/outside network.
I used an old case, RAM, and PSU I had then picked up a used B450 and a Ryzen 5400g off eBay for under $100. Then just load it up with as much storage as you need. I bought 2 8tb HDDs and run them in RAID1. Thing streams 4k over wifi to my TV with zero hiccups.

They should have just left everything as is.
Asura was so congested that there were lineups, yet no one left Asura because they were ok with the lineups because it was the byproduct of having a larger population with readily available PuGs. The people who didnt want it had the ability to use world transfer to go to another server as they saw fit.
Except they *** things up by closing Asura down, which induced a panic and everyone moved to Bahamut, now Bahamut's being closed down.

i am currently in the process of getting my Sch up to speed again, and someone said, Regen V should do 5% HP per tick, for a duration of 15 min+, and i am falling short on that, Got musa, Telchine with 10% enhanching duration on all 5 pieces, Empy relic and AF 5/5 +3 and i cant figure out where to find that 2% per tick i am missing without sacrificing my duration.
Is this yet another case of being incredible lucky on augments to get Enhanching magic duration AND 3 potency for regen on Telchine ?
Or am i missing another crucial step ?
Also, most of the gear on the squares is not showing for some reason on the 1st page of the post, am i missing a setting that it doesnt show for me ?
not gonna repeat what others have already said, but i will give you some numbers to look at
Regen V has a base number at 40 hp/tick
in light arts that adds 24 when mastered. (64)
tabula adds another 36 (100)
musa adds 25 (89/125 tabula)
arbatel head adds 11, (100/136)
100 hp/tick is the benchmark you should be looking for. on a player that has 2k hp, that's the 5% that you were told, but I agree, that's an odd suggestion to make.
if you want to get technical, look at the potency with the duration and add up the total number of hp that would restore and compare that number to your pure potency with less focus on duration and see which provides more total healing. for things like dynamis, where players are fighting on and off, the longer duration has more value, vs something like sortie, where you're doing 2-3 minute fights in bursts, the higher potency would have more value.

Triple plot twist: Everyone posting in RT are just different personas fighting inside.....and communicating with each other using internet forums as the platform.
MIND BLOWN!
Maybe I should sell this story idea to Konami as the next horror game story!

I'd normally say if they want to balance the server populations, the first thing they could do would be allow free transfers off of certain worlds to other certain worlds.
They could also just add a surcharge for players going to certain worlds. Or possibly change the monthly fees for the "high pop" worlds, but I'm not sure this would work since I expect the game play is different enough that it would be easy for most users to justify the cost.
Maybe offer some of the campaigns to the low pop servers full time.
of course the better solution would be to rewrite stuff on the backend to handle the high population or even just having a single AH for all worlds, but that requires budget that likely does not exist.

The multiple persona is an interesting concept.
The other day I heard, if you hace conflicting personas, then one will try to destroy the other to coonquer a self, resulting in the many psychological problems we see nowadays
On the other hand, I believe if your personas can coexist in harmony, then you can achieve solitude, the feeling of complete self.
I think more than ever people nowadays wants to connect with others. And are willing to sacrifice any value, morals and ideas just to be accepted in a community, like we see with people who polarized in every single thing, politics, soccer teams, products, games, etc.
What is missing is the connection with itself, to see above the two sides the cattle are lead to believe is the whole

Bad news: a storage setup isnt overly cheap, electricity costs too
Good news: you never have to see the words "we are removing this from our library and you'll never be able to watch it again"
More good news: you dont need 8 gorillion subscription services to watch what you want.
Tell me more or DM me. I'm curious what you chose for your storage setup. (Synology or some OpenNAS home build? Hardware vs Software RAID? Which disks/SSDs did you use? I could ask about 50 questions on this topic but my home lab is outdated). Neither
Its a couple shucked out hard drives sitting in an older PC sitting in my closet that runs Emby as the portal backend.

They even said they'd work on it roughly a decade ago.
They did say that 10 years ago. Then 7 years passed and they said they were scrapping the plan. No reason was given, but I'd guess it was dumped because it was bad. olddognewtrick.gif

The way this is going they're just going to lock server after server until all of them are about the same size.
Idk about everyone else but if every server turns into Asura, I'm quitting for good the very same day.

They have enough people to completely re-work Limbus and Besieged for i119.
Idk, autotarget would be pretty high on my list if I were prioritising things. They even said they'd work on it roughly a decade ago. "We have heard your complaints that auto-target doesn't work very well or as intended, therefore we have decided to delete the autotarget functionality. Enjoy."
AutoTarget is now closed.

That would actually be an improvement.
Saves having to have `wait 60; /autotarget off` in every autoload script.
