Someone that has T1 V25 clears but V15-V20 clears on T3/T4 is better served doing 3x V25 then a single V15-V20. Ah yea, that makes more sense. If you don't have access to your target NM on v25, there's some justification. |

You're the one who brought up dev income from gamepass subscriptions.
gamepass is great for low budget indie devs, its great for AA+ games that are 5++ years old. Its *** horrible for brand new games to be released on subscription services like gamepass.

People are mostly fairly anti-social these days, they are not going to team up. If the option is wait an hour or team up, they are gonna wait an hour.

I've always seen the underlying preferential attention and promptness towards the JP playerbase as downstream of how SE handled the game's international launch, with JP players generally reacting pretty negatively when NA players started showing up on their servers. This is also why I personally believe Dragon Quest X has remained a JP exclusive title to this day. These are just my schizo theories, though.
The producer of DQX simply does not want to waste his devs time converting the game and then having to support western markets, he is happy doing what he is doing.
Square Enix have far less control over these games than people think they do, many of these games are run like mom and pop stores and SE simply funds them. If Fujito and the last 3 devs woke up tomorrow and said they are done the game would close. SE would not find more people and carry it on.
DQx was never converted cause the producer doesn't want to do it, SE don't force him to do so cause of money concerns. So because of that, it's never going to happen.
SE are not run like western companies, people really need to get that into their heads.
If anything, from what Yoshi P has said. they don't even really care about the JP audience that much anymore and see the west as the most important. That is literally what he said about ff16. |

My point is saying "money spent on game pass goes to devs" is complete BS.
I am pretty sure a portion of them did, otherwise no one would agree to put their games on game pass.
But yeah, if you absolutely want to support the dev, pre-order games on day one with deluxe edition is the best way.
Also I think how much a dev benefits from putting their game on game pass is case by case. |

What's the optimal way to earn RP for a specific piece of equipment?
My understanding is this:
1. get 3 phone IIs and an amplifier (10.5k segs)
2. enter gaol, do a v25 (any tier?) but not the one you want, take it to 94%
3. repeat #2 on another v25 (or the same one take it to 90%?)
4. use your amplifier and do the v25 of the one you want and kill it
This should net 10476 RP if I'm understanding correctly?
Repeating 4x takes something to rank 29 (need about 3k more to rank 30)
(i realize available jobs/skill/gear may not make this practical for any group, i'm just trying to make sure understand the best way to optimize segs/time to get something to max rank)

While you may be right in that its faster to team up, I think the reality is some people team up when they're 4/5 and say stuff like "hands mines" and let everyone lot the other 4 pieces, there's no incentive for that now. |

They are never going to add a universal AH, the main push for that is from RMT because they want to farm stuff on low pop servers to sell on Asura (where 90% of their buisness is). It's not going to happen, it's incredibly complicated and counter productive. Also they won't even increase the server data cap from 56k (that is responsible for most of the lag in the game), upgrade from directx8 or fix the ui font icons (that are still made for square CRT monitors) and you think they will do something 100 times more complicated?
They posted how to obtain malignance armor now.
Quote: Malignance armor will now drop as a "Malig. Box" instead of specific armor pieces.
Opening the Malig. Box causes it to change into a piece of Malignance armor.
If the armor is a piece you already have, it will change back into a Malig. Box and you can repeat the process.
Note: Due to the way the system works, you may need to use the Malig. Box more than once if you already have multiple pieces of the set.
The downside? Everyone is now going to spam after patch harder than they did when they added the Shinryu BCNM, so I hope you're ready for hour long queue times. If Lillith shares the same area as Odin etc, queue times are going to be hilariously massive for all of them (and even after this, the drop rate on VE/E is still around 1/10-15. I'm not even going near it for a couple of months
If people are dumb enough to complain about queue times again, after what happened last time and then increasing the merit point to enter there is no hope for them.
That's a pretty forgiving system. Even with long queues I'll be done farming Lilith for my two alts in a week. Most people will, since they've removed duplicate armor drops from the pool, essentially. The long queues won't persist.
It's a good change. |

Idk, but you could easily tell it's been that way for a long time just from how the game is promoted in live or in person events. They'd have one T shirt and a Mandragora booth in The USA for a "FFXI" event here and there'd be an entire parade in Japan. Can also be seen in their translation efforts.
If you show bias at the top level in any organization, it will trickle down to employees and be seen as acceptable.

I've seen some noise about Gamepass recently, but never read into it. Wasn't that service like $10/month previously?
That was a long time ago. I've never had it because I haven't owned an xbox since the 360, but they have raised prices a few times since then. It was 19.99 now they are raising it to 30. People are fleeing to cancel. |

So it's ok for SE to ignore potentially valid reports because they consider NA community "whiny babies"? Are you not supposed to report violation of the TOS? Don't they literally encourage that? The hell do you mean "whiny babies"?
SE absolutely has a bias in favor of JP and they don't even try to hide it. I posted a link to ballista royale the other day, and I completely had forgotten that SE secretly planned for the winner of the NA ballista team to play the JP team, evidently they disclosed this to the JP winners but never told the NA. This gave the JP an unbelievably unfair advantage against NA players and they never acknowledged how biased and dirty of a move that was. They've been shamefully biased towards JP players for years.
My question came off as facetious, but I am actually curious about where the bias originates. Was there a time that they did listen to NA players, or has it always been this way? |
