AFAC did like a lot to the RDM NM before it spammed breakga with 1hr. SMN strat would work though

Odds are you gonna die multiple times fighting the dangerous NMs.
You have to balance reward with both effort and risk.
Right now the fights are high effort high risk, questionable and not visible reward. As a result, a large majority don't bother.

The core point to me is the fact that these NMs don't even give the EP and Units any other normal mob in the zone gives.
Zero, absolutely zero.
Feels like trolling if you ask me.
Would having them drop small amounts of units and ep create a big incentive to killing them?
I doubt it would radically change things, but it would be a (small) incentive nonetheless.
Small and due, if you ask me. The fact they give absolutely nothing feels so incredibly unpolished, incomplete and pure trolling.
I can only imagine it's because those NMs will have additional systems tied to their existence, but such systems are not in-game yet and as a consequence we get this "incompleteness" feeling.

Sechs you're right, 10k EP a kill wouldn't be that broken, I was on mobile and typing was a pain, your suggested 3k units would be 66k bonus units per zone which is more of what I was trying to say as the hefty bonus but didn't articulate it properly. But you quoted me replying to Dodik's 60k ep per NM, which actually would be kinda broken. 60k x 44 would be 2.6million EP if killed every NM which again there are absolutely people that would. Which is 1.5x more than you can gain doing daily Peach Princess but also cramped in 7 days instead of 30.
But, now that I'm on pc I can reply a bit easier and have had some good input I think. My opinion is that personal rewards would be flawed and forever unbalanced unless its something meager and meaningless like handful of EP per kill which would be pointless.
Instead adding it to the final chest reward to me looks to be the only answer. Either EP or units, something like say 50 units per NM killed added to the final chest reward, if all 22 NMs killed that would boost the chest from 3k to 4100. Over the week would only be 5500 bonus units.

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »Do you mean FC sets, or are you genuinely putting Hvergelmir in your cure sets? Regardless of gearswap or not, you should never cast a cure in a Hvergelmir.
Vanilla users often (not always) forego having precast/midcast sets, and just cram some fastcast in their midcast sets. This goes especially for spell with already natural low casting times. Not only that but if you have lag then gear isn't swapping all 16 pieces for pre and midcast cleanly. A single set for pre and mid cast can be safer in zones with lag like ody c
I've never experienced whatever nonsense you are describing here...you hit /equipset 12 and the game equips...half of the set, but not the other half...because lag...?
Anyway, let's assume that actually happens, somehow. I'll grant that this happens. Please explain how making a hybrid FC/potency set improves that compared to what I do?
Are you going to try to imply that this lag miracle also applies to /equip main Hvergelmir ...? If so, I can assure you it never happens. I've had macros like these on SCH, RDM, and WHM for years and my log shows "equipment changed" 3 times for every spell, with 100% consistency. I have cast thousands, probably tens of thousands, of spells with these macros and I've never once seen the chatlog show 2x (or fewer) "equipment changed".
After that, the macros have the same number of equipset changes...so I'm not really sure what the advantage is here. You (or whoever is utilizing this strategy) are equipping 1 equipset (the hybrid FC/potency one) and I am also equipping 1 equipset (a cure potency set), except mine has better stats in it.
Even if we assume that somehow SE will not equip half of the set.
Don't put Hvergelmir in your cure midcast sets. It's just bad play.

Much respect to the folks who have the luxury of multiple Prime weapons, but Laphria? Nah. Not a valid or justified choice in my book. If you made it for fun like a Liberator cool, it’s your time and your $13 a month. But if you’re out here selling it as “META”? That’s where I step in and call it out.
Its more WAR that is Limbus Meta. You want a WAR in every NM killing party. Just like you want WAR in every v25 clear you can melee. Tomahawk and Warcry are huge party buffs.
Laphria just happens to be WARs best weapon when you can have a SJ. Meta jobs best weapon, nothing more or less.

Can the server have more than 4 NMs a side up at one time?
|
|
 |

A single death at ML50 with no reraise, outside of Limbus zones, is ~80k lost EP, to give you an idea of how blatantly anachronistic and stupid that whole system is.

Limbus is empty 23 hours out of 24 as far as I can see.
Asura things are Asura things, no one gives a f.

Unless you have a clear idea what killing an NM gives you, why spend hours doing it.
Even if it gives a relatively small percent, if that applies to every box opened by every player on the server, you're creating a pretty huge benefit. If you only think of yourself, it's possible they're worthless. If everyone considered it in the context of who else it effected, it seems pretty clearly worthwhile.

For the same reason people solo'd hundreds of VE Lilith's before the new update(and still will after) and the people who still farm shinryu. Because eventually the thing will drop. Lol

Increase drop rate by.. what. How much increase per NM.
We know the base rate sucks, not news. Unless you have a clear idea what killing an NM gives you, why spend hours doing it.
|
|
 |

I wouldn't call an increased matter droprate 0 incentive though. Even if it's small. For all we know it's 2% increase per NM and if we kill 0 NMs then we have no chance at a matter at all. (Basing off the estimate of 40% drop the last few weeks)

@Meliora I can't say much as I log off before JP midnight when they spawn and I haven't had time to do Limbus the last 2 weeks to see if any are unkilled, but I have seen a late night JP shouter forming an alliance to hunt them on bahamut
|
|
 |
|
|
@Dodik I disagree, if the personal reward is good enough, there are absolutely going to be people who make it a point to kill all 44 NMs. If it's not enough then still no one is going to bother. And public consensus already seems to point towards the matter drop rate isn't reward enough.
|
|
 |
|

Yes that's been my assumption as well, once killed they won't respawn until next month. I wouldn't call Shiva is a busy server but we've been able to kill them fast enough. Can't even imagine how its like on Asura, Odin and Bahamut.

Very popular in Europe too.
As is Muji, another Japanese brand.
Sadly Muji went enshittified, at least in Portugal and Spain. New stores sell mostly overpriced generic synthetic crap, the cool stuff they had a decade ago is all gone.

Quoting on mobile is annoying.
60k ep would be crazy, there's a reason we can only do 1 pinkies per day. Imagine being able to do pinkies 8 times a day for a week.
|
|
 |
|
Is this a per NM reward or a one type participation per month reward?
Because if it's per NM, then that's x22 for the people who play on spawn time, 220k EP and 66k units. Pretty hefty monthly bonus
|
|
 |
|

/DRG is the best, imho, because of the WSD boost and also the situational utilities of jumps.
/SAM is situational, /WAR is very generic and works. I prefer /DRG but /WAR ain't that bad.

I keep hearing about personal rewards or better incentive to killing the NMs, but I want to ask, how would you balance that without unintentionally creating negative fomo for all the people who physically cannot attend due to work/school/life times vs the people who are around/work from home/don't work at all who can witch hunt all the NMs at jst midnight when they spawn all at once? At the very very very least they should drop a large amount of EP and a small amount of Units.
10k EP? 3k Units?
And a chance for a zone-related Matter.
This would affect only people who took part and/or are in zone at the moment it's killed.
Which is a bit of a kick in the bollux for people who took part earlier but then went away, but given how the reward is so small and generic I doubt a lot of people would "feel" like they're missing out big.
It wouldn't be a big incentive of course, and it doesn't need to be, but it would be at least "something". The fact they don't even give EP a mob of their ilevel would give is beyond preposterous, if you ask me.

So I/my group/many people don’t run the addon (yet?!?) is there a way to update the data on website?
- Phoenix ??? Is apo SW3, display as 2 atm, this is a new one as we spawn it yesterday, it shown the previous one but timestamp show recent.
- Also, we took down 2 NM, and would like to mark them.
So is there an option or that was ruled out because of saboteurs?

Development follow-up.
I've rewritten a large part of all components and will deploy it later today or tomorrow Monday.
I'm happy to report that it will be more automated now and tested with and without Superwarp (I've gotten reports some part of the old version wouldn't behave as expected in certain scenarios).
It will automatically detect the NM from afar, where I got some ideas from https://codeberg.org/svanheulen/limbus
It will also update the backend automatically if a second scan no longer detect a NM/??? but are still active in the database and mark them expired - This require more testing but we ran out of NMs on Shiva... Lol
I've tried to retain as much as possible so it will be backward compatible but an addon update will be required long-term.
I'll make another update when everything is live and you will notice when loading the addon since it will run a version check on load.
Thank you for all feedback and patience.

Sure, but when you have 50% FC on a single piece of gear, like this exact situation right here...that seems really dumb?
Here's a free gift:
/equip main Hvergelmir
/equip body "Melinic Jubbah"
/equip feet "Merlinic Crackows"
/ma "Cure iv" <t>
/equipset yourcuresetnumber <wait 1>
/equipset youridlesetnumber
There, you have (at least) 72% FC even with no subjob, plus light arts, can use full potency, only spend 1 second in your cure potency set (the least amount possible), and are back in your idle set right away, all in one macro.
If you're putting Hvergelmir in your midcast cure sets, you're doing it very, very wrong.

Trying to figure out the new limbus NM works now?
- Is everyone screw for the month?
- Is it last week that count?
- Does it reasses the count every week like before but reset at the end of the month (or update)?
- What is everyone point of view?
So far, on Phoenix, 2 weeks ago all NM got kill and had about a 50% drop, last week barely any NM got kill and it’s totally trash, like sub 10 if not 5. After the monthly update, no difference to that trash drop, can say later after the Sunday “reset”.
