The wording doesn't really lend itself to a packet exploit. I haven't done Limbus, but the matter are a real item so don't you need to trade them to the furnace to upgrade? If they hadn't been received yet, you wouldn't have them to trade.
If it was an exploit, I'd guess it's probably something more stupid like when the card exchange was busted for trading RUN cards. Talk to furnace while still in the crate and it gives you free upgrades with no packet shenanigans because they halfway implemented a system that checked stock in box before deciding to use a real item. Dunno.
I guess if you see someone running around with a maxed cape, you'd have your answer. Perfectly likely it was just fixing something that costs you rewards, though.
My guess was there was a way to manipulate your inventory such that you only had to consume Temenos/Apollyon Units to upgrade while having only collected one or two matters. Maybe recycle bin shenanigans with Matter's previous spot in inventory or something? Idk.
The matter obtainment rate is super bad, even if you have NM credit, and while it has been 6 weeks since implementation of accessories/matter, so it is, theoretically possible to have obtained 30 matters legitimately, you can only increase your unit cap by 15k per week, and it takes like 630k units total to upgrade to R30.
So it's even just super sketchy when you see people with R20 earrings. That's like 230k units and 21 matters spent (an intial matter is required to make the accessories). I think there must have been an exploit, since I have seen people with R20 earrings. And that would mean they've only missed getting 9 total matters...
It'd be one thing if they were just some joe blow too, but when they're also armed to the teeth with R30 and Stage 5s, it seems suspicious. What's more likely, the guy who has it all is also insanely lucky, or the guy who has it all is using whatever means necessary to be as high on the totem pole as possible? |

Limbus isn't the fun content it could have been. I think many were expecting it to be at least somewhat near what the original was.
Nail on the head. I have to remember that original version was a game-generation ago, and I'm older, so maybe I'm just not into killing mindless fodder for points endlessly anymore, and prefer something a bit more engaging. I'm still waiting on the final version of Limbus, which is why I'm on no hurry to grind it now. I'm hopeful it'll be better than right now since it's still being developed in stages. Right now, it's nowhere near as fun as the original. |

Ive just finished reading Aiki and its sequel, Aiki-S.
Oh, boy. This story can be thought as when a talented artist, with good and appropriate style, competence in laying out elements in a page, good picture, framing, all the good visual techniques, he has them.
But the same good artist is a crap writer or storyteller.
That is basically Aiki quality in a nutshell. Very decent visual, one of the weakest story ever. It is even hard to properly describe the story quality. Maybe just think if the author just think the next chapter while drawing it. Only this to explain so many poor or useless story choices.
Completely skippable story.
My next series to read will be… Chainsaw Man.
Ive been getting too many spoilers of it. Unlike Jujutsu Kaisen, when I discovered Chainsaw Man, I did feel like it was different, it was worth to read.
I just read the first chapter, and that was a strong one.
Im pretty sure I will enjoy a lot with this one

Game is in a really bad place right now. Sortie is daily grind content (im actually way more in favor of Sortie than Limbus) and Limbus is flat out terrible. At this point, if you're still playing, it's because you just like FFXI so you'll take whatever you can get. Kudos for anybody forcing themselves to still do this, I try every day to join a pug but immediately get a headache thinking about it. It's THAT bad. But there's not much else to do, so people might feel forced into doing it due to no goals. Just a rough spot FFXI is sitting in

Testing Tupsimati
Can confirm that with /sam, proper sTP set, haste, and AM3, SCH can self burst all spells to include Impact. Impact can only if you pre-cast Alacrity for only that spell in particular. I save so many stratagems meleeing that swapping arts or casting ebullience every spell is possible. Myrkr solves all MP issues.
In long range fights can obviously go /rdm for MAB, fastcast, convert, and use staff AM2.
Extremely versatile staff in the hands of a wise mage.

C1 midway around the map. To be more precise it's not on the route people normally take in Central #1 to go from entrance to exit.
It's in the far north room, the one populated with Quadavs. On the right ledge you can fidn the ???.

I've been rushing to do as much limbus as i can while others still kill some nms. I can never expect when SE will fix things and their first fix here did very little so i figure i basically just have a few more weeks before the number of nms killed gets so low it will become pointless for ring and earring progress.
On the bright side earrings have made major progress, I'm getting decent master levels with the 135 enemies and i can always go back to working in +4s.

So many bad RNG streaks made me desensitized with low chance.
Before I thought: damn, dealing with this 5% drop rate / event occurence will suck major ***.
Nowadays: 1% chance? Easy peasy.
The only thing I still cant take is dealing with bad streaks with a low chance.
Having to fight 500 times for that supposed 1 out 100 rate is what breaks me

This one below is the first time I seen this many augments.
 You should do a gearswap export on that. I'd be willing to bet that that's actually a set of paired augments. Two or more stats that are part of a single aug. If I had to guess, I'd say each stat+1 is linked to two of the stat-1's. But which pairs with which, I have no idea.
Would be interesting to see what the actual augment structure is. |
