Maybe we deserve this content because we didn't fight back
Back in the day, SE reduced the experience points required to level at the higher end down to something more reasonable. This was done because they could look at the numbers and see that people were lagging behind or falling off at a certain point. Players weren't botting for days on end to overcome the steep curve so SE could actually look at the data and make the correct choice.
Today, that data is saturated with people botting for days on end, paying mercs/RMT to accelerate their progress or creating tons of alts to convert XI to single player game. Why is anyone surprised that SE has no clue what to do anymore? People think they're getting over, but they're making it worse...

One could argue it's the only thing AI is useful for because if you use it for something you don't understand how would you know it isn't just hallucinating?

Generally speaking, everyone present should be there with the goal of increasing the party/alliance's DPS This is not what I said though. I said "it implies every character has an equal impact on DPS", and I would like to believe you're smart enough to know that a WHM has a much lesser impact on DPS than a DD job does.

ItemSet 365258
BEST SET looks stupid yes but if you wanna do 15k-40k Auto attacks trust me
if you have Indris GEO and a solid COR buffing you can hit 14k Consistently also with these you can reach that 40k
Double Attack JPS cape on WAR is dumb no reason to have 112% Double attack instead get the Crit hit RATE on war +10% don't believe me try it out
love to see everyone with ukonvasara do my recommendation

Last couple of years I haven't participated in Nanowrimo's novel sprint because I was either super stuck and/or that website was plagued with scandal. But now the scandal has finally caused them to just shut down and Reedsy has taken over the competition, and even offers better rewards. And more importantly, I'm actually positioned to participate.

I don't think any of the latest content had anything really planned out. Seems so okish before the 6-month grind was implemented - now we have round 2 with Limbus. Maybe we deserve this content because we didn't fight back

I dont think when SE made Sortie, they built it with the expectation that groups would be doing 8NM+Aminon on a regular basis
So just build alliance content, scale the difficulty for 6-10 players, and let the players figure out the optimal ways.

Except the initial statement never states a blanket "moogle segments acquired will be increased by 50%", you're inferring that for whatever reason. The initial statement states there will be a change to the reward for reaching the vortex and then lists what the changes are. There is no need to repeat "for touching the Vortex" multiple times when the opening statement states that the campaign changes only apply to the rewards for touching the vortex.

Following this train of thought: you get 0 job points for touching the Vortex and if that's doubled, it's still zero. :)
I don't understand what you're saying here, but...yes?
If you get 0 JP (because you're capped) then you'll get 0 JP including the +50%. If you do get JP, it will be increased by 50%.
I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at, but I don't think it actually causes any problems with the way they laid out their message.
These bonuses apply to the bonus for hitting the vortex:
-50% bonus to JP
-50% bonus to segments
That's it. Whatever JP you would've gotten (0, 5, 10, etc.) will be increased by 50%. Whatever segments you would've gotten (0, 1000, 2500, etc.) will be increased by 50%.
Yes, 50% of 0 is still 0. That's logically consistent with what they wrote.
Edit: We can't even have a decent internet argument anymore because we both spend most of our time in the Edit Post screen. :(
It's definitely a curse I have...happy to hear it's not just me.

I'd listen to the community, not addicts who spend 60 a month to solo. I want FFXI to be great again
So...you think that Sortie was designed specifically for 6-boxers? I wonder where in the world you got that idea.
Frankly, I would say that the reason Limbus sucks so badly is because SE listened to the community, who are a bunch of morons.
They wanted an event that can be done solo, or done with a group up to an alliance. That's what everyone keeps saying: they want to play FFXI solo (because they *** refuse to talk to another human); they also *** that 6-man events are the devil, because they paradoxically have 7-10 friends and can't fit them into their 6-man group.
So SE designed dogshit-level content with no difficulty because, as I've been saying for years, it's basically impossible to make content that is difficult for 1-6 people and also difficult for 18 players. So we end up with this absolute steaming pile of boring, easy, repetitive ***.
Congratulations community, now we have "old school" 18-man content, and you can also solo it! Everyone's happy!

Dang, my playthrough went smoothly by the end of last week and got me close to the last leg of this run, but last three days went with a turtle pace.
Also, my supposed cold/flu is taking way longer to heal. It started Wednesday last week, and now Im still coughing 9 days later.
I do noticed my mother and stepfather started to cough similarly. My guess is that it was covid in the end, because normally a flu only get me for a week most, and normally I never get in much contact with my family during that time.
Only covid (or worse) to have me coughing for 9 days and to have such transmission rate.
At least, aside mid intensity cough and sleeping bad a couple of night, nothing else is affecting me.
It just will get me that this week I decided to not work at office, and I will need to make up 16h at office when I get back to normal.
Quite amusing, because the place more likely I contract the covid was either the office or the traveling to office. So, work at office is what made me sick, and because of that, I will have to work even more hours at office

The royals never really interested me. RIP Diana though. My roomie has royal family trees MEMORIZED.
As for me, I can't remember which Edward bailed after marrying Simpson thereby handing the crown to Elizabeth II.
I think it was Edward VII, whose only crime was marrying a 3 time divorcee. They literally made him abdicate cuz of that. He went on to be a Nazi collaborator so, maybe they got that one right.

Im still loving Chainsaw Man, but this part 2 feels like the author gave up the plot and started to do experimental stories. Does a big guy with a chainsaw need a plot?

The HDCP + HSA system was the best thing to come out of the ACA, too bad it's just so poorly understood.
High Deducible HSAs were around for at least a decade before ACA. (nothing good came out of the ACA).

It's not widely known, but precast and midcast both process when you use a JA, so it's fine that they are in sets.midcast.BP. Pergatory has put notes to that effect. He still uses sets.pet_midcast to put the gear for all his BPs

It's neither, it's all the hands in the way between the consumer and the provider. Each level is driven to take their cut of the money, especially with government money. There is so much fraud and corruption baked into the system that is obscures the true cost of services making informed decisions hard to make.
There are ways to handle this, but it requires educating people and those people then making smart choices. Getting people to make smart responsible decisions about food is hard enough without going into the complicated realm of finances.

Hi, not sure if anyone is stil paying attention to this thread.
Wondering about Pergatory's Lua and why there is nothing in it for when you precast a Blood Pact. doesn't seem to have a 'sets.precast.BP' specified in it?
I was under the impression a precast set with 15% BP reduction I and 15% BP reduction II combined with as much Blood Boon I can equip would be what's needed before any sets.midcast.BP
maybe this Lua uses the sets.midcast.BP when the JA is activated, because further down in the Lua there are sets.pet.midcast.BP with more specific sets for BPrage/ward
It's just that I'm used to Lua's with the sets.precast commands and this confuses me somewhat.
