I'm assuming we still have no idea how to reliably get the ??? in temenos, correct?
I think we do its just more of a pain in Temenos.
Its a random mob type, that must be killed over and over until the NM pops and the NM drops the ???. Plenty of reports of NMs being killed but not dropping the ???.
In Temenos everyone focuses on the quick easier mobs near the port which leaves entire types of mobs neglected more often that Apollyon.

FWIW WS range is always 1 yalm longer than Melee range on the same mob so you can park your butt at 5.1' or whatever and get the "out of range" message when you try to autoattack but your WS macro still goes off just fine.
You won't know the exact distance without an addon, but you can still creep forward until the WS macro successfully goes off full vanilla! I'm aware, but the SAM is outputting a lot of damage and often taking hate from the MNK from 100%>30% or so, so they can't stay out of range since they'll often be Aminon's target.

Sorry to let you down, I've only been subbed about 30% of the months since 2011. Not even half of the last 12 months. I'm happy for anyone that finds intellectual stimulation, challenge, and life fulfillment in easy, repetitive content but personally not for me. I enjoyed playing FF3 3D remake more than ffxi for years. You really seem to hate this game, and it makes you act like a reprehensible person in forums. That's a pretty difficult platform to stand on while questioning other (ostensibly more stable) people's choices of what to do with their time. If you enjoy the game, play it. If you don't enjoy it, belligerently attacking strangers on the internet probably isn't the best expression of your dissatisfaction. (To be clear, I'm not attacking you. I can see this causes you pain and I truly hope you feel ok. Drowning in anger feels like ***; I know firsthand.) Nice sock account and I appreciate that you're so interested and passionate about my life that you're willing to play pseudo psychologist and write me an essay.
I don't hate the game, it was great, it's just sad how less and challenging and more repetitive it is getting. What offends my intelligence is the people in denial, people happily wasting their lives and so deluded and duped by SE they think they're "good at ffxi". Be my guest to waste your lives. I don't think you'll be wishing you made more primes when on your deathbeds though. Obviously if you've known nothing else since the age of 13 your life is *** though.
Making primes is a waste of time, but having over 3,000 posts in 2 years on a forum dedicated to a game one admittedly has played <30% of the time since 2011 is a great use of time, supposedly

Am I just not awake yet, or maybe I'm overthinking, but did SE release content that will not be properly usable for two, maybe even three, months?
Were currently on blue boxes here and I know we had all the NM's killed before the 4 week rollover.
Doubt it. It's probably the same thing as last time: people misunderstanding the graphic because the colors/design is awful.
My prediction:
Only the last 4 weeks' result affects the chest.
If you killed W1 only, you get a Brown/gold chest.
If you killed W2 also, you get the Red chest.
If you killed W3, you get the Gold chest.
In the picture, this is the green box "total defeated", and the green box "treasure chest upgrade"
Then 4 weeks later, the same thing is evaluated. This is the blue boxes in the graphic.
Then 4 weeks later, the same thing is evaluated. This is the red boxes in the graphic.

Limbus T2 NMs:
Everything moves at greatly enhanced movement speeds, but Bind lands on everything without issue by a geared RDM. Since they can all link with each other from across the entire zone, binding two and focusing one is the best way to handle them without an insane amount of deaths. A well-supported tank can also handle one in a corner if you can keep the other two off of them. Their auto attacks hit for 800-900 per hit regardless of defenses, and they use a TP move every ~15-20 seconds no matter how much TP they should have. Evasion tanking can still kind of work, but the threshold is much higher (RUN needed SV Mambos and Blind II to evade consistently) and they all have elemental attacks anyway. Shadow tanking with NIN might work better. If you focus one at a time, they'll fall pretty quickly if they're being properly tanked and the other two NMs are being held off. If the other two (or all three) are running around freely, you're going to die very quickly regardless of job or buffs.
Temenos:
NMs are Khryoskhimaira, Ironclad, and Mammet.
Khimaira casts -ja spells and can use all normal Khimaira TP moves + Fulmination at low HP%. Didn't see Lithic Breath. Fulmination spam can cause a full wipe, but maybe height differences in the zone can help block it? A well-supported RUN can also live through the spam long enough to finish it off.
Ironclad has all the normal TP moves except for Eradicator (or at least he didn't use it). Ballistic Kick, in particular, does ~2500+ damage and can kill large groups of people at once if he's running around firing it at max distance. Between that, Turbine Cyclone, and AoE basics, this guy is easily the worst of the three besides low-health Khim.
Mammet swapped between sword, staff, and polearm that I saw, preferring sword. He didn't use his physical absorb TP move or cast, but he used all other Mammet TP moves. Of the three, he's the easiest by far for a RDM to hold in a corner with Bind.
Apollyon:
NMs are Dvergr, Vampyr, and Wyrm (Vrtra).
Dvergr died really quickly and I was focused elsewhere so I didn't see much of what he did. From what others told me, he casts -ja spells and has normal Dvergr TP moves.
Vampyr has Decollation, Wings of Gehenna, and Bloodrake for certain. I was focused on the Wyrm at this point so I didn't see much of this, but apparently it kept Stunning everyone for long periods of time until a tank got control of it. It may or may not have the Vampyr Charm/Doom/Terror TP moves. Of note, Repose landed on this towards the beginning - Sleep/Repose might land on other things as well?
Wyrm has normal Vrtra TP moves (Horrid Roar, Absolute Terror, Cyclone Wing, Sable Breath, Spike Flail). Spike Flail's range seems to be limited only to directly behind him, but everyone behind him died the one time he did use it. However, at 80% he took flight and remained flying until the other two NMs died. While flying, he only ever did Cyclone Wing, which he spammed for 1500 unresisted damage and Sleep in normal Wing AoE. Naturally, this wiped a LOT of people until I got it under control and forced it to stay still long enough for the Vampyr to die. Dark Carols help a LOT with this and a RUN with SV Dark Carols can very easily hold it while flying. Bind kind of worked while flying, but it wore off frequently (maybe people were RAing it...). After the Vampyr died, it used Touchdown and didn't fly again the rest of the fight.
TL;DR Bind/tank two in a corner, kill the third, have Poison Potions/DoT gear ready for Wyrm. The hardest part by far is getting everything controlled without mass deaths. Not sure how feasible it's going to be to kill these NMs after the initial hype dies down, especially for lower pop servers...
Omega/Ultima require all 22 fomor NMs to die, 250 chest openings, and 2 ??? spawns. Time to finally figure out what exactly spawns Temenos' ??? I guess!

I was just a part of wave2 clear in Apollyon and I enjoyed it a lot. Required on the spot adaptation. There was initial chaos with the Wyrm. It flew in the air at 80% and started to kill everyone with Cyclone Wing. Mischief took it on the side and we focused on Dvergr, it was pretty easy, but Paralyze and Curse was annoying.
Vampyr was a problem when he was on the lose (Mischief bound it at start, but some JP guys hit it). Wings of Gehenna is a big problem if it hits many people including healers. Stun is very long. I haven't noticed Dread Spikes, but maybe we were lucky. It charmed someone I think and otherwise went down fast after it was properly tanked by PLD (Tappo).
Wyrm (Vrtra model) finally went back down and we were able to zerg it all the way without any more air time. Cyclone Wing was still annoying even with double carol.
I gave Mischief all the info I noticed during the fight, so maybe he will make some more detailed post later (he killed wave 2 Temenos too).

We've recently moved away from MNKx2 and started doing MNK SAM and I think it's a bit better. TP feed with 2 MNKs was a bit too risky on Aminon with our ~400 TP absorbs and I wanted to try something with a bit more breathing room so I figured I'd give SAM a try. Our Aminon kills are a little slower, but the rest of the bosses die a bit faster, however our MNK does not have a Hoxne Ampulla, so the addition of that would probably make MNK SAM as fast as MNKx2 if not faster (MNKx2 wouldn't be able to afford either MNK to use Ampulla). Our full setup is MNK/DRG SAM/RUN COR/DRK BRD/DRK GEO/DRK RDM/WHM. Ideally the MNK would be /RUN so the SAM could /DRK for extra Absorbs during Aminon (especially Hard Mode), but our MNK isn't comfortable trying it and unfortunately he's a close friend so I have to settle with him.
Unlike with MNKx2, with MNK SAM it's acceptable for the COR, BRD and GEO to contribute some WS damage while Penance is up and SAM's Meikyo Shisui is down, though keep in mind in our setup we only have 3 Absorbers, so backline will still have Caster's Roll as one of their rolls for 12s Abs-TP timers limiting how often they can WS, but it's fine. Aminon dies fast enough to 9 boss Normal Mode comfortably with a practiced group. COR BRD and GEO might want to avoid WSing entirely if your MNK has Ampulla.
On SAM I only WS through Meditate, Meikyo Shisui, Yaegasumi and Random Deal/Wild Card resets and avoid feeding TP through auto attacks. It's not uncommon for most people to just use Gearswap to WS while disengaged, but if you don't want to do that, I put together a TP set you could use to minimize the TP you'd feed while engaged. It focuses on low accuracy, low Haste, 50 Subtle Blow, and STP wherever else. I tried limiting it to gear that either one would already own or would be simple to get.
As far as my WS sets on SAM goes, while Penance is up I ignore any Subtle Blow in my WS set and just go for full damage. If Penance is down due to bad luck with Random Deals, I'll throw on 40 Subtle Blow & Mpaca's Hose on my WSs (Chirich x2, Peiste Belt +1, Bathy Choker +1). Our RDM also uses Auspice so that puts me up to 55 SB in my WSs while Penance is down. Once you're all out of Meditates and 1 hours, you *could* play it risky and TP on it with Hasso down which I did do on our 1 Hard Mode attempt with success, but I looked at Absorb logs after the run and noticed some 400+ Absorbs, so TP at your own risk. I used this set with /WHM Auspice for 50 Subtle Blow. Without Auspice you'll need to throw in 9 more SB somewhere. It has 22% Haste and 0 Multi-Attack to avoid excessive TP feed. Unfortunately all of SAM's Subtle Blow II options have TA or QA which is dangerous if it procs, so I settle for 50 SB with 0 multi-attack.
Aside from Aminon, the only other boss that I imagine people might have questions about is H boss. For him I TP in 70 Subtle Blow (capped SBI, Dagon, Niqmaddu, Mpaca Hose) and WS in the 55 Subtle Blow set I mentioned above. SAM alternates Mumei/Fudo and MNK alternates Tornado Kick/Raging Fists to avoid creating any SCs that will heal Aita. Open with Chi Blast. Aside from the forced TP move he'll do at the start, he shouldn't get another TP move off until under 20%. After which it's a simple reposition and Panacea if anyone was afflicted by a Fetter's DoT and finish him off.
I've been enjoying my time in Sortie tackling Aminon a different way from most groups and I hope maybe some other groups looking to spice things up (or just don't have anyone with DNC like our group) will give it a try.

Someone sold the material on our server, so it's clearly obtainable. Not someone I know so I haven't heard where, but assuming gobbie box?
I don't believe anyone can make the gear yet, because the uncursing thing comes from the box upgrades, which haven't happened yet?
This is definitely speculation, but the best I know ATM.
yes, the materials and the NQ piece can come from gobbie box and has on quite a few servers

Fujito did announce new zones, but I'm trying to keep my expectations low...
100%, don't let expectations grow out of hand.
That having been said, the epilogue quest of tVR teased giving players access to Rhazowa...
Sounds awesome, but... a new continent would almost, more than likely mean a whole new expansion. How likely is that to happen at this stage of the games life?

It depends on whether they use a Path A/B/C approach or make it random. They probably did A/B/C, so probably yes.

Is it possible to datamine the augments before the gear is obtained or are we stuck waiting in anticipation?

Quote: You can add and reforge augmentations to your crafted equipment with the Temenos Furnace or Apollyon Furnace.
The process requires purification items and units corresponding to the relevant equipment.
Also, the augmentation can be transferred to a different piece of equipment.
In order to transfer the augmentation, trade both the original and new pieces of equipment to the Temenos Furnace or Apollyon Furnace after meeting the requirements listed below.
Note: The source item will be lost during the transfer process.
1.Both items are the same type of attire and for the same body part.
2.The target item is of higher quality than the source item.
3.3The target item does not already have an augmentation.
So really just hinges on what those are for a lot of the pieces

Do they have augments? The base stats on the pieces are kind of high, but the special stats suck, so actually augments could fix them.

It happened before.. and SE patched it before. It was not intended.
Resolved issues.
Quote: The issue in Limbus wherein the player still took some damage upon being attacked by certain notorious monsters, even when the player was invincible. Now, in this case this was only them patching the issue for Invincible, but to my mind it introduces a lot of room for this to all be bugged as ***when something that major is going on. Hopefully they'll address it all and not just invincible/sentinel related issues this time.

I haven't read too much on the fomor NMs pre-patch, but I noticed similar behavior on PLD. Sentinel didn't do anything. Neither did blocks. Didn't see any difference with low or high Defense. Rampart helped slightly, as did DT. However, I did not see a change specifically using PDT (expected based on Sentinel results) or MDT. Is it possible the auto attacks are breath damage? Or some other sort of non-elemental damage?
