I have a number of posts on this forum suggesting that they should've done a better job of tying all the monster-related activities to one another. BST, Pankration, monster rearing, Monstrosity, mounts. They could've done some cool things, but the disjointed nature of development over time meant they missed all those opportunities.
Soul plates could've been equippable on your monstrosity species. Monstrosity species level could've changed output from collecting items from that species in mog garden. Reared monsters could've been able to fight in the coliseum.
Progress in any of these areas could give BST low-level, always-on Cheer-like effects - whether only on the beastmaster or as pet species or family-dependent buffs. And you could make a similar argument wrt BLU.
I'm also disappointed they didn't find more things to do with the maze tabula/rune and evolith systems. Lots of ways to augment various things that they just aren't using. Maybe the pending changes to trusts will see something like tabula/runes - same runes for all buffs, different tabula based on trust role? /shrug

Animation carries it forward. I'm looking forward to Shadow Lord.
I actually started rewatching The Acolyte purely for the High Republic world and the lightsaber fights. Also Mae in her Assassin garb is kinda hot.
SE contuining the bright arts line, these are pretty cool at JP price... The price gouging even from SE store is ridiclous, double the price.
 I want that!

Forgot about this until seeing a thread on macros bump up just now.
Anyways seems like the method never got posted so here it is roughly, might take some googling for your specific OS since I use Windows 7, 10 and 11 support this though. Also it's a bit of a pain to do.
Basically in Windows you already have "System Protection" turned on for the drive that has FFXI installed on it so it's taking what I think are snapshots of the drive on some routine schedule for restore points. Having it on will save old versions of the macro files.
As a precaution before trying this you can use FFXIConfig's "In Game Settings" Save feature in case you're afraid of screwing up anything further.
If you ever have a situation where your macro palette got wiped you can try this:
1. Edit a macro in that palette with a searchable word like "MissingMacroHere" or anything that can be searched easily.
2. Log out or might even have to quit out the game entirely. I've tried zoning and that didn't always work so if you want to try that instead your mileage my vary.
3. Use a program like Notepad++ with its "Find in Files" function to search your ..\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\USER folder wherever you have the game installed for the keyword (i.e. "MissingMacroHere") you saved in the wiped macro palette prior.
4. Once you have the filename and its location in the search result you can navigate to it in explorer, check its properties, go to the previous versions tab and copy the old version out to someplace like desktop then back in over the current one (at least on win7 for me, my restore button is busted idk why) or just hit restore on an older version if that works for you.
Note: You can try opening the file before copy over to confirm it more or less has the macros in it you remember, it will be a little mangled looking in a text editor because of how the file is formatted, but the old hand written macro lines should be evident.
5. Log back in to see the macros restored.
Sorry if details aren't as clear as they should be, but hopefully this points people in the right direction and saves some grief.
This is a great idea and is very resourceful, thank you for sharing this with us!

If they're going to allow us to level up trusts and they're going to introduce mounts with special effects... well, I propose they let us level up mounts to gain special effects.
Would be nice to have a mount glow to match an afterglowed weapon, for instance.

Mastery rank is part of 0x01B, which shows up on zone, and at least some of the time when you check your status/title.
Code
-- Job Info
fields.incoming[0x01B] = L{
...
{ctype='unsigned char', label='Mastery Rank'}, -- 66
...
}

If you open the equip menu then check the status, for certain rank up conditions, you can see a change without zoning. ...Possibly related, though I'm not actually certain: Opening the equip menu triggers a 0x063 incoming (merit points update) even though you're not in the "status" menu, which is where Merit Points are actually visible.
(this may or may not be because it also stores Monstrosity info in that packet and HNM status gives you more points to equip Instincts, that's my best guess)
Does Mastery Rank come in that one, and not 0x061 (same place as your own title)? Just a Pavlovian reaction to "hey I recognize [thing]", not a relevant post, but asking the real wizards.

The KI needed for the new syn are from the shield itself, so only ppl who has shield can actually do this; which limited the supply heavily.
I think it is fair the guy offer his service for a price and be clear about it, far better than asking for a tip (tipping is so American)
@tarage He offering service to everyone (customers mainly); not everyone can befriend / ask for free from friends with shield.
Beside it doesnt cost only 6 sec for for someone with shield .. it was an investment for such amount of time and money (can be 2-3billions at peak) to put on the machine in PJ. It also does not only cost 6 sec but rather chatting, agreeing time, gather time, food, HQ crystal. And popping a shield also mean u cant do that again in next 60min (unless u have custome lined up which is unlikely, paid customer sometimes doesnt like to wait)

If you make macro alterations it does not save them unless you zone or logout and back in, if you spend hours on macros and crash before doing those you'll lose them all.

It should but if you're still changing jobs in quick succession, it may still happen. This was often the case for me in Odyssey. I stopped using those macro_book functions entirely because of it.
My personal solution was to make a job commmand across all my jobs that checked what my main/sub were and then input the vanilla commands to apply that lockstyle and macro set. I used to use autoexec plugin a long time ago before that stopped working, but I couldn't figure out how to get the new addon version to work.

|
 |
|

I had this and found in my lua I was calling the function twice
select_default_macro_book()
It was in the user setup and the job setup sections. removed one of them and hoping it fixes it.

Maybe partial completion doesn't do anything and only full completion of a "block" of content adds towards the mastery rank?
Yes, precisely. In the cast of my Rank 8, I didn't rank up until I completed the final nation related quest, RoE + Portal Charm.
For RanoutofSpace's Rank 9, he completed his last quest in Windurst (Scooped) 100% that nation's quests.

I Rank 7 Currently (started at rank 6 last week Doing Bastok & Sandy quest). Did Nearly all of Windy & Jueno Quest
Got Blobdingnag & Yilbean Titles but did not rank up.
Starting on outlands quest next. damn I started as 6 trying to 7.
went from 430 -> 780 ROEs
titles 417 -> 630
ranked 3 nations to 10
finisherd ACP(all storyline complete now)
golden shovel + ygnas
craft to 0>110 with several subs 70
fame capped all regular and 2 abyssya
all homepoints/survival guide
finished almost windy/bastok quests prob about 10 left
monstrosity tiger lvl 83. about 15 new species unlocked
Still 6. I must be missing something obvious but at this point its comical. I have a little less RoEs than you, somewhere between 600 and 700 , no clue about my titles and I'm rank 7 I believe.
Maybe partial completion doesn't do anything and only full completion of a "block" of content adds towards the mastery rank?

Jesus christ had you said "I'll craft it for you for free, but also I accept tips if you value my service" and people would likely tip you the amounts you're asking for. Now, instead, you sound like a ***.
If I were to ask any of my crafter friends to craft something with my mats of course they'd do it for free. Hell, *I* craft ***for people for free if someone is shouting and I can make it.

I am curious on how that is achieved It's "easily" achieved if you do 1 of 2 things: 1. Consume Mana and 2. Hold TP to effectively WS at 2.5k to 3k TP. More often than not you do not want to hit 99999 on RDM because you often lose WS frequency.
The only time I would hit capped damage on RDM on Aminon is if was about to WS around 1750-2k TP and I noticed an influx of actions at once and I needed to hold off and do an extra drain to ensure no wipe and I end up firing a WS from 2.5k+ It's not a good thing to do in all practicality purposes.
Since you were curious:

exactly my point, not sure about the epeen 99,999 on rdm, over all a dps loss.

Has anyone done a deep dive on the pieces and what's worth it?
Or confirmed the augment paths?

I've definitely hit 99,999 on RDM on basement bosses, as have other friends in my group, at least 3 or 4 of us. It's not very common, in my experience, but it does happen.
Most likely candidate would be G boss, my damage seems the best on him, but also possibly E... don't believe I've ever seen it on Aminon.
I agree with the other points though, hitting 99,999 is not the same as being attack capped. There's some overlap, of course, but they're not the same condition

Are you sure we are capped? Our RDM hits the occasional 99,999 on basement bosses but never on Aminon.
I can't see how you aren't attack capped with Dia 3* -23% def, Bolster Fury +120% attack/Frailty -42% def , like +900 attack from songs, and another -23% defense from Box Step, and Last resort. If you're not attack capped, then Aria is doing nothing for 9-boss groups, which I'm almost positive almost all groups are using.
Not hitting 99k is not a visible representation of attack cap being met on the RDM though. I'd have to check my logs to see if our RDM ever hit 99k. He is ML50, but I'm not sure if he had absorb-str/mnd on and entrust str/mnd on. Maybe with a Souleater+Consume Mana and high MP you could hit 99k, but that still has nothing to do with whether or not you're attack capped.
Not challenging you, just truly curious. DNCs being able to average 99k really throws off perspective. The reason I brought up RDM is because they do hit cap enough to notice on basement bosses but never on Aminon.

I thought it was confirmed that mastery rank only updates when you zone. So what you’re saying doesn’t seem to make sense based on
