Re: No K-Club RNG without Heavy DD geared discussion from page 1 -

My brother actually saved up for K-club over the course of like 1.5 years or something, and also got a loan from a friend to buy it.

At the time he bought it, his only jobs at ML were THF, RNG, RDM, and GEO across two characters. His go to style of play was to dual box his RNG and Idris GEO with his friend's PLD, COR, WHM tri-box.

The coolest thing they ever did(that I heard about) was "duo" H-Unlock in Sortie between their multi-box setups without any Odyssey sets. Just AF+3, Relic+3, and I think some of the Empy+2 was out then? Mixed with the best HQ Cursed gear at the time, too.

And he pretty much stuck to that playstyle while very slowly building other jobs gearsets. Course his friend quit due to IRL reasons, so I had to break him out of his loner shell a bit last year. Got him in on a more regular Sortie group that we built up over last year.

Nowadays he's added... DNC, NIN, COR, and almost RUN to his repertoire. He's working on Monk and GEO again next(DRG is in the mix as he has an R15 Ryunohige, it's just very low priority for him, and he didn't AGIII it until December last year), so that his old main can fill-in any time for his new main (He's a weirdo and leveled his DNC on his non-main, thus creating an issue where the only way we could fit his old main into the Sortie runs once we finally had 6/6 members was on COR when we have an absentee).

TL;DR - Weirdo RNG mains do exist. Something something Pariah Contrarians. Something something, playerbase too set in formulaic play. Something something, won't play what he doesn't like.

I love ranger. Watching the gun shooting animation was like watching the coolest person in the world non challantly raise their massive canon at eye sight, extra bonus cool points for one handed shooting animations, and blast whatever bunny was in their sights to dust.

It made me level bow ranger and shoot wooden arrows at colibris for way too long.

And you want to make ranger into another savage blade spam job? Like there's not enough of those.

Ranged ranger *or gtfo of the forest*.

Hay, increasing extreme lag is not an issue for them. It's your fault for not living in Japan.

Not that it's an important distinction, but it's not a living in Japan issue, IME. The infrastructure/code itself causes the lag, not the ping to the servers.

So you mentioned overflow damage for the SB RNG situation, but don't consider it for scenario 2? What WS are the SAM, DRK, COR, BRD and WAR using, are those WS incapable of creating fake damage?

I see close to 600k SC damage in scenario 2, nearly triple the SC damage in scenario 1 with the RNG (the RNG has almost no SC damage added in scenario 1). Is this all valid damage, or is some of it overflow? Also, the COR and BRD are both using Savage Blade across both parses, but they are carrying MORE damage across the second run than the first run, and still it's 65 seconds slower? This data isn't showing what you think it is.

I mean you can split hairs whichever way you want and say kclub isn't worth it, and RNG kclub isn't a necessity by any means I agree. You guys can debate that if you want. But by your own numbers, kclub tp bonus bow RNG beat your next best DD by 300k and sped your run up by an entire minute without any other advantages like Prime aftermath or SC damage contributing. Judge that for yourself, but you'd have to be straight up blind to ignore how powerful that is as a DD. If killing an entire minute faster is not significant just by changing out one job (bring 3 kc rngs, you get 3 full minute improvement!), then idk what is.

I never said people should buy a KC for their RNG to out-damage their SAM. I said RNG is a beast with KC, which it is. As you can see, it beat a DRK, a WAR, and a COR in DPS. Seems like a pretty good DD...

TBH I bought KC to do Yoichi trials. Gil is basically pointless past a certain level, so who gives a *** what it costs?

Anyway...yeah RNG is quite niche and not something people should level to replace their WAR. Of course. If you are a RNG, the bow/arrow/KC combo is the best SB setup and you can get and it's quite nice. Are we...not getting the best gear for our jobs now...?

If you want to be lazy, you can use a TP bonus gun on RNG to save an inventory space. Bow is still better though, so if you want to min/max, it's better and you should make one if you take RNG seriously.

- Support for an AutoHide setting which controls whether or not the chart is automatically hidden after you disengage from your target.
- 'aaev hide' command to hide the chart on demand.
- Support for BGOffsetX and BGOffsetY settings to adjust where the background is placed relative to the chart.
- Mapped 'parry' attack results to be interpreted as a 'block'.

@Keylesta it's a bit janky since the background just inherits the position and dimensions of the chart. But you can get it there by turning off the max label, reducing BGPaddingY and then adjusting BGOffsetY to shift the background down. I found that disabling the label, setting BGPaddingY = 15 and BGOffsetY = -10 looked pretty good with other default settings at least.

I don't think they were really designed for major utility, it's just an array of mostly interchangeable, sort of customization-lite gameplay element, intended more for casual players who just want to see a character they think looks cool or who they liked in the mission/quest stories. It's barely any different than the myriad of cosmetic gear options or mounts.

From a damager perspective, most of the DD (and mage) trusts are interchangeable and are very weak at Lv 99. But some of them do have interesting effects that make them worth using specific ones. For example, if you keep Zeid or AATT hasted, they can stun TP moves every time one goes off. Even better if you have access to Matsui-P, who has unique SC and MB logic. Some trusts have special attacks instead of melee attacks (like Darrcuiln oi Teodor). If you use one of them vs Selkit (who responds to special attacks with Hell Scissors), you can lock the NM into a non-stop cycle of Hell Scissors spam. This is how I killed it way back on BLU or NIN.

There's a few here and there that have some neat effects, but they're all super weak for our level. Under 99, some of them are straight up busted.

There's 10 tanks 10 healers with varying degrees of uselessness. and EIGHTY DD that are all completely useless. That's the issue at hand.

A bunch of random DD trusts that are all mediocre (at least at max level) is working as intended.

There absolutely could have just been 10 DD trusts instead of 80 if the point was to differentiate them for utility's sake. That was never the point, IMO. People here sometimes forget that there are a lot of casual players who don't post here (they aren't hardcore enough to ever wade into a forum), don't have a deep understanding of game mechanics (and don't care to), and just want to call up a random DD trust as they solo their way though stuff. This is for them, not you.

Doesn't mean they can't do a more universal upgrade to slap better stats on the trusts, which in some ways actually IS a nice improvement for players who do understand the mechanics more and can make better use out of this tool for their solo/lowman play.

Nothing that hasn't been said before, but if we got our wishlist for making trusts not suck - stat boost, equips, gambit system - then a bunch of players would take a hard look at paying monthly sub fees for their private army of alts.

So they've got an interesting tradeoff to consider - help the soloers at the potential expense of the bot armies... and that's why we'll get a mediocre trust update that makes no one happy, except maybe Eiryl because he'll get to say he told us all.

Trusts shouldnt be better than a PC who cant clear the first floor of Sheol A.

While that definitely USED TO be the developer philosophy, I'm not so sure that remains the current thinking under Fujito in 2026. Ever since they did the player survey, which got a strong response from players who reported they are interested in pure solo play, it is becoming apparent that some of the developer decisions are shifting to support that play style (Limbus, shared Dyna Divergence instances, etc.)

I totally understand the opposing viewpoint that trusts should remain inferior to a real player, but I would be entirely unsurprised to see trusts getting buffed to the point where they ARE better than a mediocre real player.

And really, doing that at the increasingly more solo-friendly endgame is not that out of line with how trusts are far better than a mediocre player at lower levels. While leveling up, Shantotto II is ridiculously strong for damage for a long time, the tanks are incredible, I'd say healers are at least on par with a run of the mill player, the melee DDs are serviceable (definitely way more useful than they are at endgame). I can see the logic in making trusts similarly useful for a lv99+ player.
