What did I do?
By echohawk on 2026-02-13 15:25:28
I was trying to get it to reference all the other superwarps and go from there. I tried to answer whatever requests it had and I thought we were making progress with counting notes, checking for access, logging the menu, amd targetting a whole one (1) npc. It definitely doesn't help that I have no idea what I'm doing beyond some pattern recognition and copy/paste. I could tell where the 3 strongholds would have been on the teleport list. In a bit I'll post what I had incase anyone wants to glance at it

Do you mean changing the button layout? Sorry I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding.

Like you use back/select to begin binding/maping and "start/pause " to change to different bar layouts. I reWASD those buttons to be alt + tab, and I was hoping to keep it that way but the addon is cool enough I may have to reWASD a different pair of buttons.
Bummer about the hud size. I suspect I'm having user error issues elsewhere thats really behind it

I thought coding was supposed to be A.I.s strongest area
You just have to know exactly what you want it to do and the technical details about how it should be done.

I would venture a guess campaign warps just never made it off a todo list
By NynJa on 2026-02-13 15:08:48
Chatgpt can only provide what it knows. It doesnt know what to look for in regards to:
which npc its interacting with (is it even available during a city campaign? Been a while)
checking if the area is unlocked to your char
if you have enough AN
what packet to inject to teleport to which area
By echohawk on 2026-02-13 14:54:51
I got bored and tried to see if I could get chaptgpt to make superwarps include campaign warps from bastok s and was wildly unsuccessful after an embarassing amount of time spent on it. So I'm just curious about some things I should have asked a while ago:

1. Did the campaign arbiters get skipped because nobody cares and/or not worth the effort (fair, but my people are dying)
2. I thought coding was supposed to be A.I.s strongest area.
3. Is this something that is even possible?

Clarion Call increase songs duration by another 40 seconds.

I did not see where CC increases song duration in the Wiki. Is this a hidden effect that is otherwise known by the community?
By Galkapryme on 2026-02-13 14:16:45
New~ish BRD, here. Please *** my Song Duration set, and let me know where I need to make duration adjustments. My math is indicating +171% increase from gear (about 11mm25sec songs with NiTro up).

So is the consensus then to just do Venus orbs?

I just posted some valuable infos about Fast Blade II for WHM SCH GEO and RDM in the "Onion Sword III for dd WHM" post, also tbh MNK could also be an amazing fast blade ii user apart from DNC.

Throughout this week i'll record footage of in game proper shenanigans with this weapon and then i'll publish the showcases with also the pics n description of the simulations, the builds, the various tiers of buffs you can do depending on the job and how much atk/accuracy you need to reach (mostly to figure out if one can squeeze in etudes + geo DEX etc)

In general Fast Blade II can be terrible if used poorly single wielding with bad gearsets for it, or insanely good if used properly dual wielding with tons of MA to get those juicy TA/QA procs for 99k bursts on virtually any job.

Could you elaborate a bit about how MNK would best put it to use? This is the first I've heard of that and I'm intrigued by the possibility of a slashing option. How differently would MNK put it to use compared to DNC?

I confused him with someone else on Asura whose name starts with a T. Thought I'd offer an alternative route but I'm mistaken. Carry on.
By Brimstone on 2026-02-13 12:26:11
I assumed he was only asking about "worth testing" (if you care about making money why ask about the test?) if I could just get gil that easily for orbs I'd probably take it.
By Lutia on 2026-02-13 12:19:18
It would have been corrupted on 6 different computers at the same time, unlikely. I deleted/redownloaded it anyway, result is the exact same thing.

Not sure who you're replying to, but if you're testing probably want a similar sample size of each:
300 = 18x10 + 20x6 or 19x10 + 18.3x6

If someone wants to do linear algebra:
6m + 10v = 300
m - v = 0

Of course need whole numbers and it said "about".

I wouldn't do 50 of one and 30 of the other, those are different sample qualities.

The test wouldn't be a "similar sample size" anyways if you did it that way, because you can't guarantee a win or what you will pop on those 18-19 runs. You might "win" (ITG/ILT) 5 Mars and lose 13, and win 2 Venus and lose 17. In any case, it's all moot, he doesn't have enough to generate a large sample size with that few vouchers.

yes I think its small. Supposing 20 orbs of each type with even distribution:
If he should buy lottery tickets he'd open 200 chests (inc. final coffer, 180 w/mimic chance)

If I never want to be on an airplane with him it'd be 20 chests.

Realistically it probably be around 100 of each type (if you tried to open 9, so about 2 wins per type)

Denominator would be "chests opened" Numerator would be counts of mimics/thuds/LT/ITG, with a sample size of 100 (still small) it may be possible to see if there's any meaningful difference in thud quality rate, but if he doesn't want to waste his orbs and stops after opening 5 or 6 or first ITG or 2 LT or whatever, sample size would probably 50-100 chests.

I mean if you're gonna do it anyways that's enough to at least be interesting data, if you want to test mimic location or see if quality of rewards is different based on orb or if those dumb hints are just red herrings or w/e else (zone matter?) probably not enough to do anything. I don't think you can say anything definitive from that sample size but its at least big enough that any data is better than hearsay/conjecture.

If he opens after first ITG and the denominator is smaller on the venus side, that is also interesting data.

Anecdotally I think i've had better luck with Mars orbs (although I usually do venus), didn't realize just selling the orb on Asura was a thing.
By Tarage on 2026-02-13 11:35:42
I'm not selling the orbs. I'm not on Asura and I doubt I could get someone to buy 600 voucher's worth of orbs anyway.
By Dodik on 2026-02-13 10:58:19
Venus previously only affected the middle chest, did it not?

It was changed recently.

either your plugin is out of date or corrupt (would try removing and redownloading it) or your windower is corrupt/out of date. Assuming retail server?

OR it may be a file permission issue, but why it would affect just gw and not other plugins is unlikely.

That was my understanding, and what I had been running with for a long time. Maybe I'm wrong, but I did manage to snag like 3 Orphs from it.

I should have been more clear.

For a long time the accepted way to spend vouchers was on mars orbs because the upgrade to venus wasn't worth it in terms of probabilities to get good items/gil items. They have since changed it so that venus now has a higher probability of getting ILTs. My question was, given that I have a set number of vouchers to spend(300), is there value in testing the hypothesis that venus is now better than mars in overall efficiency of vouchers.

I'm asking if my experiment is worth doing, or if I should just throw all in on mars or venus and not do the other one.

??

Mars = 6 vouchers
300/6 = 50 Mars Orbs (x 2,500,000G = 125 million gil on Asura market)

Venus = 10 vouchers
300/10 = 30 Venus orbs (x 5,000,000G = 150,000,000 gil on Asura Market)

I don't know how you assign gil value to the orbs. (i've made very little money from trove)

Hmm, the best you could probably do in the settings xml is change the spacing to make it appear smaller. As far as I understand it you can't change the actual scale as a whole without going into the LUA files of the addon itself. As far the menu selection; same story.

Do you mean changing the button layout? Sorry I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding.

Valefor.Keylesta said: »
This is likely not what you were meaning, and this is in no way a substitute or even similar to XIVCrossbar, but you asked about menus, so: Taskbar

Haha i do like this idea, but I was actually wondering about in addon menus. Currently you can do this by making a new action bar, but you need to rid it up in the actual character job-job.xml files. For instance with the addon as it is I press the button to open the bars menu list, then i go to "add", and name it to like.. Weaponskills. Then in the xml I have to go to section i want to go the button, and add it manually like this

<hotbar_2> (right trigger button)
<slot_7> (RT+B combo)
<type>ex</type>
<action>xb bar WSlist</action>
<target>target</target>
<alias>WeaponSkills</alias>
</slot_7>

I was hoping to one day see an in-addon function to make it a bit less tedious.

Good point. I haven't done a whole lot with the 1k set and that'll be the easiest to get 2 fotia piece values for. I can do the 1k with fotia spread with 2 fotia pieces
