Super Soloing!

ah k, so i use a better macro program, im no better than dirt and i may as well pos hack and cure bot, gotcha. interesting how this turned out to be a question of my skills.

your from what server? Yuna plays on what server? exactly... so how would you know; with out ASSuming his/her playing ability that he/she "needs" the program to play at your level... exactly you dont.. stop ASSuming things and just play at your level, or switch servers, and come play at our level, you might learn something.

Twice since I hit 90, I got Zirnitra to 17%

My problem was that I kept forgetting to put Fan Dance up, so Calamitous Wind took me down so low, that a single hit knocked me out.

My goal has been to solo Zirnitra for a long time, and it WILL be my first successful solo on DNC.

i feel for you, i was so happy when i got that ***, and when i got him i didnt even care about the drops i was just happy i finally got him.

Actually, I'd just killed the *** NM and gotten the KI I came to the zone for and I have all of Iratham's drops / no reason to kill him besides the fact he agroed, so I threw caution to the wind and just zerged the ***out of him.

The only spell he cast at low HP was Comet. He Shadow Wrecked once, and I alt tabbed to my bard to spam Cure 4 on myself. He also used Diabolic claw, so I tabbed and Erased + Cure 4ed myself then too. I don't have a cure bot program, though I also don't have anything against them particularly. A good bot is better than a bored mage.

After the fight, I autoran into *** to warp home. If he'd done some killer combo on me, I'd just have HPed faster.

see 5 pages of discussion about zirnitra for details. made up patterns, arguing the definition of patterns, arguing about nonsense such as twilight dagger making mobs cast less often etc. either read or dont. simply being stubborn about being wrong many times (actually listed in one of my replies). its one thing to not know something, its another to argue things like mobs cast more with more tp gain or whatever, even when someone (me), goes out of his way to list proof simply to dispel nonsense. yeah you go find it.

she has links to w/e spell cast junk she uses and replies in said threads, so obviously uses programs, and defends their integrity here. i guarentee she's not going to stop using them any time soon to prove she doesnt need 'em. i dont care, dime a dozen nowadays, but where are the assumptions? ironically you are assuming i have no evidence for my opinions. i didnt want to rehash stuff, but got "called out" internet style :(.

anyways to move on/conclude:

I just reskimmed the last page in slightly more detail, and I guess I could address the anti-spellcast sentiment. I played on PS2 from early 2004 to late 2010. I dealt with the 6-swap limit. I meticulously engineered my macro sets to work around it with a minimum of difficulty. I moved to PC, and suddenly I wasn't limited anymore.

The name "spellcast" is apt for the weather/day effects and Fast Cast, but otherwise I find windower macros benefit melee jobs and JA dependent jobs *cough* much more than mages. I had no problem swapping 12+ pieces of gear per spell on BLM on PS2. I'd cast from the menu and spam well-constructed macros that I adjusted based on day/weather. (http://byrthnothgaruda.livejournal.com/2401.html) I still play RDM and BLM this way, pretty much. Old habits die hard.

On the other hand, Dancer was a gigantic pain without Spellcast due to the gear swapping delays of the official client.

If you're using the official client and do not wait a little after hitting a gear swapping macro, you won't always get the effects of that gear. This removes a large chunk of our Dancer advantage, instant Cures.
Windower does not have this delay, which makes it much better for Dancer. With spellcast, you set your cast delay which determines how long the system waits after swapping your gear before it executes the associated JA. Typically this is around 0.2 seconds, approximately equal to the time the official client would take to equip one piece of gear.

Do I need it? Not really. Would I enjoy playing Dancer without it? Not nearly as much, and I'd end up selling a lot of the gear I have whose benefit is destroyed by the added delay cost of using it.

i still find it incredibly amusing that this became a question of my skills and even more amusing that under both "names" almost every single post of yours was to instigate me (personal vendetta?). when all else fails, nick pict at other people's imperfections. Additionally being wrong/stubborn (which i have openly stated on many occasion that i am both of these quite often) really doesn't affect one's skill.

in regards to the title of this post.....theres nothing "super" about watching a dnc poke a mob for 40 minutes that you could have nuked down solo on rdm in less than 10

First of all it wasn't dnc, it was nin/dnc.

Lastly please, please post a video of you soloing hydra on rdm in less than 10 minutes, i will dub you king of super soloing. You cannot nuke hydra down with rdm in less than 10 minutes. I promise you this.

there's also nothing super about raining on parades.

And a BLM could do it faster than a RDM.

I dont post to often in here but I like to take and share pictures.
If not solo most of these were dual boxed with blm and at most a BLU friend for proc. He is smart enough just to stay out of the way. I can tank alot but holding hate is a different story and he knows he will die. :P










PS just a little DNC fun. Hate that the pic caught me right after a waltz and glitched with my flowered shirt on but I was to busy to take another one. :P


PS you can tell how bad things are if you see me pop the EVA macro and put on the old SH+1 and some PDT pants. LOL

Fuath is now a trivial (but not fast) solo assuming you have Etoile Casaque for reliable stuns on her spells. You might not even need the stuns, but it certainly does allow you to play a bit more aggressively and probably cuts down the solo time by 50% or more.

Hedjedjet was soloable at 90, but I think it's a more reliable solo now that if you get petrified by Breakga, it's not necessarily game over.

This one made me lol. The Korrigan stuck in the the sand.

The Sharabha one is nice. He handed me my *** the one time I tried him. Although I wasn't too well geared at the time.

I am not seeing anything super about any of this soling, as it seems 1/10 people I know can solo most 90% of abby NMs O.o.

The reason you bring friends, is soloing is not as fun as hitting shyt with other people, and so we get procs of course.

Off topic question: What plug in did you use for arrows? For example, the cursor next to "items" is a lot different than mine. I like that a lot more than the default arrow. Thanks!

I sort of soloed hedjedjet just now >.> Took it down to 60 something %, when I got unlucky with a hell scissors getting through with poison aura up which kicked in the second the TP took me down to 2hp and died. A mnk+whm duo standing nearby grabbed it off me and brewed it down to 10% and died somehow I guess when the brew wore (I didnt think that would happen so I wasnt watching)

Reclaimed and killed it though teamed up with them since I was still weakened and the whm helped me out. Im going to attempt this again later on when I dont have competition next to me psyching me out (though they were nice enough to say they'd invite me anyway if the staff dropped and the whm was complimenting me while fighting) I was having too many flashbacks of when I first tried to solo khalamari at 80 cap and died in 30 seconds and was panicking from the moment I started >:
