It is impossible to do that comparison without knowing the proc rate or potency of the additional effect on Oirandori. I'd expect Kamome to win though.

Inside Abyssea. Outside Abyssea I'd expect Oirandori to be quite a bit better.

Okay, no real rush. In Abyssea it's:
Kamome - D50, 180 delay, Crit damage+10%, Acc/Atk+8 (lower base delay, more TP/sec)
Oir - D56, 190 delay, DEX+5, Enhances Crit rate (unless you're capped with Yonin)?

Not looking at anything but Damage and Delay, Oir's DPS wins.

Unfortunately, Kamome's Crit damage boost is +5% damage to both hands with a 74% crit rate (assumes no Yonin or crit from gear) even if it's taking you from +40% to +50% crit damage. In Abyssea, it's Attack+8 is also probably more useful than Oir's DEX+5.

The Crit rate cap, Yonin, crit rate gear, etc all devalue the debuff on Oir.

Outside Abyssea, the DPS is tilted more towards Oir due to the lack of fSTR and the crit rate is much lower (but so is crit damage boost).

I read it that way too. I think there was just a lot of really poor word choices in the whole conversation that made everything hella confusing for everyone. >_>;

Soloed amarok dnc/nin. Easy to tank while weak too as I discovered when my phone rang mid fight and kept ringing until I answered, unless it agas which obviously goes through/wipes shadows.

Okay I know its been said before its done, and its not that impressive. Just like to see this thread revived/back on track because I enjoy reading what people can solo so I know when to be thoroughly shamed or not when I fail :3

I duoed Iratham with myself (BRD/WHM mule singing Min/March and DNC/NIN with Haste Samba and Saber Dance) in approximately 3 minutes.

Best part is that he agroed me while I was killing the Cockatrice NM (~50%), and I got the KI. That's how I know how long I fought Iratham for... Troubed songs shortly after starting the ***. xD

what happened when he did blizzaga IV for 2200 damage and 2x tp moves in a row at low hp? or did you use twilight dagger so he didnt cast spells as often?

I'll go out on a limb and assume he had some sort of mdt - set, shell and maybe carols? To moves aren't that bad

if you dont have a mdt gear set, get one, you will thank me afterwards. mdt is like the difference between life in death in alot of situations and you really only need to get roughly 26% mdt which can be made by via twilight torque, denali hands, dark rings, merman's body and merman's earrings.

he said he had troub min / march, not carols. 1 ga 4 and shadow wreck following would kill him from full hp, mdt set or not (is he a taru?). with shell 2 (/whm) and that mdt set, shadow wreck would do about 1300-1400, and ga 4 about 1850+, if not 2k+. probably used fools/fanatics and spam cure IV bot non stop lol, with luck of not ga 4 -> shadow wreck, shadow wreck right in a row. also had no fan dance or waltzes.

well for one shadow wreck can miss, two if the spell wont kill the dnc out right he/she will be fine unless he TP's immediately afterwards. he is damn near soloable by dnc as it is, having a brd/whm there to catch a cure while your timers are down more or less seals your victory. additionally killing it in a short time lowers the chance of dealing with such an issue, 3 minutes fight for the whole fight could very well mean that for a little 0ver a minute he was under 50% which does not give the mob much time to do anything.

um yeah ive actually soloed it 100%, without fanatics or fools or megalixir (or brew obviously), so i may know what im talking about, hence a more detailed understanding of both his double tp move at low hp and his basic damage of spells / tp moves. shadow wreck is aoe darkness damage, ignores shadows. personally never seen it miss anyone ever, even thfs and dncs with evasion atmas/sets. possibly "resisted damage", as any magic damage can be, but not miss. the point i made twice was if he did blizzaga IV (did about 1850 to me with future fab and shell4 from book), then shadow wreck, it would EASILY kill a dnc from full hp. then add the fact that it does 2 tp moves in a row, regardless of tp gain at low hp, thats (being generous) 1800 + 1200 + 1200 = 4200 hp. or slightly less if it does shadow and malign which does maybe 900-1k.

ok im gonna stop then since you already established that you've solo'd it with out any temps, and you're making a big deal about someone who duo'd it with their dualbox.

not that fact that he soloed or duoed, more in the details. if you said "i soloed iratham on whm/nin" and i said i soloed it on dnc, the details would matter more than simply "i soloed it". he should say he used fools powder, fools drink, fan power, fan drink, cure IV bot etc if that is the case. also to your point of time / danger, hes doing march sabre dance haste samba, so iratham gets tp that much quicker. the danger is easily still there.

I like MDT gear, face-tanking AM2's that don't even break stoneskin is fun. lol

I guess that's off topic though, I didn't even notice this was in "Dancer" until too late. >.>

Well, my toughest solo on THF (which I guess is comparable) would be Mictlantecuhtli? He's not even hard. Just takes some attention.

Run when you see either a spell or the first TP move at low HP%, but in such a way that you are in range of your mage. You'll outrange the 2nd TP move and/or buy yourself time to recover.

you could also just turn while its casting and not feed it tp, then it wont use tp right after spell, much easier.

typical stereotyping, i'm sorry but not everyone who uses a better macro system such as spellcast that bots. i'm not even sure how the *** they are related.

no im serious, what the *** does a program that targets player A and cure it when it's hp is low, and rest for mp when it's low HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH SPELLCAST.

since you insist .... for one, i know i have some nerve not distinguishing between levels of cheating. two, most people dont think a cure bot is a super horrible offense in relation to movement/teleport hacks and claim bots (degree also implied by your simple innocent description of what a cure bot does). oddly you make cure bot sounds so innocent just like using windower, aiding my point. i cant estimate your level of cheating or what you feel is normal, passable or beyond the acceptable amount, all i know is you do it. bottom line is you need extra programs in order to function and play at the level of me, and its not my job to guess where your line is.

soooo you're insinuating that byrth cant function at your level of skill without spellcast and a cure bot by that last line. also you seem to think that spellcast is an actual bot rather than a macro program. a bot is a bot, nothing more nothing less. if it plays the game for you then it's a bot.

actually i was implying it about "you", since im talking to you, and said "you". however, i dont mind extrapolating. yes you all need those programs, whoever uses them. no way did i say or imply that i think spell cast is a "bot". its simply a cheat like any other. if i call an apple a fruit, and an orange a fruit, does not follow that an apple is an orange. small logic lesson just for you.
