In one of the threads, I said "avataru" instead of avatar. and I always say "bettaru" instead of "better" now....
I logged on last night to do a couple hours fishing and my girlfriend turns to me (bear in mind she has never played FF, or any game for that matter) and she says to me "are you sure dear, the moon phase is at 50%"! *jaw drops*

I think I realized I might be playing a little too much....when I noticed my 5 y/o kid humming the Zi'Tah song >.>

the biggest sign that you are playin too much ffxi is when you spend 150 dollars for a cosplay costume from japan to pay another 1000 dollars to fly to the stupid fanfest and upon arrival spend another 100 to get in =P enough said.

Well as long as you had fun that's all that matters. When I burnt my toast this morning I went "Perhaps I needed Advanced Imagery" aloud. My girlfriend was tres confused as she doesn't play the game.
When you see a lonely bright star in the sky while driving and immediately look for the compass at your lower left to check if it points north (really happened to me yesterday)
Every time sometime comes up at work I'd rather not do I reply: "Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass." My boss cracks up about it but doesn't play FF.
My girlfriend and I routinely use the term "Aggro" in real life situations (My mother aggro'd me, etc.). i was playing halo and was trying figure out why i didnt have signet on...felt like something was missing in that top part of the screen
you can tell you have been playing FFXI to long when your on vent with 20+ people and some one says something funny and someone replys "l o l" and everyone laughs and you dont get it.
happend ot my LS leader hhe did the lol and was all "whats so funny" now everytime someoen says a unfunny joke we all reply "l o l" ive thought of more while reading yalls.
me and my wife are both 5+ year vets of FFXI while haveing sex once she called me by my Char name. and realized it. and got super embaresed. and finally you know you have been playing FFXI when you know what "FFXISEX" is and have done it. While half asleep in the morning, I don't worry about missing the bus to school, thinking I can just OP there.
i play the game so much i hear the /tell noise at random times while at work or just out in general.

The Clothcraft guy. You know, the one with the guild sign for his avatar said: theres a noise for /tells? Lol. Go to chat filters, highlight "tell" and hit enter on it a few times until a music note shows up next to it. You'll get a little chime every time someone sends a tell. there was a time a friend who plays ff ran into my dorm(few years back when i was still in university) and suddenly frozen at the door(it was open), and i asked her wut happened, she replied
"your tell was not received. The recipient is either offline or changing area" after we moved outa dorm we became roomie for a year and during that year she was making all these weird food according to cooking guild recipes, most of them end up in the dump. as for myself, i hit ESC a lot on windows other than ff, how sad I camped Charby for 7 days straight with 4 friends of mine.
We claimed it every time it popped... but, by the end I was sleep talking and walking. AFTER we got all of our drops, I called my friend 2 days after at 2am. She answered and I said, "Is the window open for Charby yet? or am I late?" She hung up on me. Still in a daze and not understanding, I called back and asked the same question. She woke me up by screaming at me that we were done with Charby! LOL I went back to sleep, confused. XD ~Yote I frequently have violent dreams, of punching people I know in the face. Recently though, I've been dreaming of punching NCP's and NM's in the face.. Nothing makes your night happier than punching Halver in the face repeatedly

i was at the store the other day and someone from my dad's church asked me. "OH what job do you have now. Not thinking about it i said, I'm a THF right now." and payed for my stuff and went on my way. Dad got a few questions from her that next sunday... Opps

Oh wow. Reading these has made me feel so much better.
I, too, am guilty of /p, /l, ect while on msn. My friend was like "o.O what's up with this /p thing?" I hum songs from the game alll the time. I've had dreams about it. Worst one for me is my sister just recently moved here. My mom has been complaining to her that I don't socialize. So she called me to see what I was doing. My reply "What? Sorry. In a party right now" (doesn't help that I was playing Tool somewhat loudly). She was like "What?!? My sister is PARTYING?!" Saddest part, was I didn't catch on. I said, "Yeah.. I know. Haven't done that for a while." Then after we hung up, I realized why she sounded so shocked, and was asking if I was having fun. Also, I need to go pick up something at the Home Despot. >( trying to auto-run on different games.
I actually was trying to WS in Zelda...
Then I stopped...I wanted to slap myself so hard. |
