Server Merge

Since the server merge has left several characters outdated. there should be option to change server/name if required or even to delete an old character. So I can change from Remora.Jenks to Leviathan.Jenksy (Yes my name was already taken, as was my mule, although never been seen on Levi's AH, ***.) unless i'm missing something and you can just update the Link to the FFXI community site? just thought it might be something to look into... obviously some checks would be required to make sure names are not already taken and stuff..

There is a menu on the right part of the screen.
Select [Verify Character], add your Leviathan name and follow the process (you'll have to buy a crystal on the AH etc...)
Once the character is verified, you'll be able to edit the data and Leviathan.Jenksy

Once all this is done, go to [Edit account] and choose your knew toon as default profile (delete the old chars if you want etc etc...)

They've put in a function to allow you to transfer over the screenshots from one char to another, but the only other things I can see them doing that for would be the comments and maybe merits. Speaking from a database point of view, the ID for your old char would be tied to alot of data in the background [ie. sales transactions] for the old server that would either become orphaned, or cause existing queries to return incorrect results.

The bottom line being that the devs could spend many hours re-designing the database and application [which they provide free of charge] to accommodate the mergers, or we can each spend an extra 5-10 minutes verifying a new char and editing a bit of info.
