No wonder you are always trying to bring people down to your level. Do everyone a favor and grow up!

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I was completely ignored. Cool, Not feeling shunned here or anything.

I'll check this thread out again later once the drama settles down. Later guys/gals~

Sure you did. And just who were you? inb4 you hide behind anonimity yourself. What exactly have I gotten away with? You don't know ***. Most the time on Ramuh I barely played and was only with a couple of small groups.

Interesting that a person saying I'm trying to bring them down to there level immediately starts trash talking in this thread over a joke.

I take it back you don't need to take a chill pill you need to get the sand out your vagina and learn to take a joke.

Er, I'm not a furry I don't think, but when I was a wee little squirt I was in love with Michelangelo and Raphael. Does that count?

Donatello and Leonardo were just meh. But I adored Mikey and Raph!

Why don't you get the sand out of your ***, and for your information I was Celesyna. Who you seemed to find funny to keep making sexual comments to even after I told you I was a lesbian, and to shut the hell up, and that you had no chance in hell, especially with your horrid attitude. Others might find this behavior acceptable, but for me you are one of the shining examples of why more and more women are going bi and lesbian. And while I don't doubt there was the possibility of this being a joke, telling scrump to go take a dozen chill pills was unnecesary. I find it sad that when the forums are trying to be cleaned up, your type of behavior is still tolerated.

Yeah still not ringing a bell. What were you some random *** who just can't take a little joke. Heck did I even know you were a chick before you said you were a lesbian? Wait were you in that horrible namis shell?

I'm the one with a horrid attitude? Have you been reading what you have been writing?

You are a shining example of all that's wrong with women today and why adultery and divorce rate is so high these days. I mean who would want to put up with your BS?

ABILITY: DERAIL DRAMA, ENGAGE!

I haven't seen the Tyra Banks thing or CSI episode but have heard of them. I guess we can't escape the fact that for any community, only the weirdos will get represented because they stand out. The non-weirdos just blend in.

It's not unexpected for people to think of us as weirdos, which is true for certain parts of the community actually. I don't see a reason to be defensive though because I don't see anything wrong with weirdness hehe, cultural uniformity is boring.

Like people already posted, there are many different levels, ideas, and perceptions on furries. Tons of debates even within the community.

There are the casuals who just like anthropomorphic characters due to nostalgia from children's shows (yogi bear), cultural commentary on human and animal differentiation (animal farm), or just think werewolves are badass (underworld), etc. In fact, most of these guys probably aren't even furries, unfortunately people label others at the slightest hint hehe.

Then there are the therians, the guys who feel like they are an animal trapped in a human body or embody the spirit of an animal or is a reincarnation of an animal. They get ridiculed often even by other furries... but I honestly love them. I knew a guy who was by all accounts could've been a regular college frat guy (buff, straight, hard-working, friendly, a leader), except he had these quirky habits of acting like a dog haha. He wasn't even trying to act that way, it just came to him naturally. These guys are very interesting to interact with, it's so weird and fun, it's just a blast.

I was kind of disappointed to read earlier, that even the furries on here, in their haste to defend themselves, immediately put down some of the weirder members of the community by posting that one guy's post about how he acts like a dog.

Moving on, then there are the artists. These guys just like to draw and some or most of the time it's animals or anthropomorphic characters. Either for cartoon, comic interests or humans are just boring to draw. A lot of furriness is about art, since it's one of the main ways to express a fantastical idea.

Ahhh, the fursuiters! The most visible part of our group! I think the idea is to take it beyond the simple drawn art and have something more tangible, 3D and expressive. In truth most fursuiters are normal people who don't deserve half the ***they get. Does anyone like to dress up for Halloween, or (for the gays) dress in drag? There is really not much difference (except for the anthropomorphic focus).

And finally, there are the furries who are furries because of sex and attraction (I guess it could be called a fetish). We can blame the hot guys in SWAT KATS or Road Rovers during our childhood or whatever, but the end result is that somehow our brains got wired differently and, like being gay, we're attracted to those buff werewolves or werecats or centaurs, etc. There is really no denying it, the core of the furry idea is the sexual attraction towards anthropomorphic characters. (hence all the yiffing stuff, and furry artwork etc., a lot of them being NSFW hehehe).

At the far extreme is probably actual bestiality, of which only a small minority are a part of. Most furries are not into bestiality and consider them not a part of the community. I agree and disagree to some extent, but that's another topic for another day.

Those are my general knowledge and overview, questions are welcome! And if I made mistakes please correct me too.

Fair enough, everyone was in love with Raph and Mikey! They were too awesome for their own good. I'm a sucker for baby tigers and was completely jealous of Jasmine in Aladdin because of her pet tiger, Rajah. MUST HAVE!

I'm genuinely curious how much the furry phenomenon spiked after the kids who were raised on anthropomorphic kids' shows hit puberty. I can count, offhand, at least 5 shows featuring talking creatures when I was a kid during the '90s.

Also, let's air dirty laundry in public places. It's much more fun when everyone else can see it.

What's the main focus of the "furry" thing? Sexuality or identity? Seems like a mix of both but I'd like to know if one is more dominant.

Fur and Loathing in Las Vegas is the episode. I <3 you lol, you've got a great overview of the community. I don't know where I fit, I love to wear tails/ears/paws and wear them often just for every day wear, but I also wear them as part of my cosplay outfit for Anime cons [Otakon or Nekocon] when I'm too lazy to make a proper costume.
I try not to shun the "weirder" furries, though I do have issues with the weird hybrids lol, not in a bad way, more they confuse me and I'm like "how the hell is THAT a furry!?"

I would think it is more of an identity thing.
For example, Destrac is a furry but I don't think Oumura is. . .
As with Hanbok and his partner.
It shouldn't have something to do with sexuality (I think. . .). @_@

I think sexuality is more of a focus than identity, but that which attracts you also draws you in and becomes your own identity. So identity results from the sexuality in short order.

The truly identity focused (the therians) are outnumbered by the others I think.

What's the main focus of the "furry" thing? Sexuality or identity? Seems like a mix of both but I'd like to know if one is more dominant.
Identity, those into it for the sexual stuff aren't furries, they're just fetishists. Me and my mate [can safely call him that lol] don't wear tails or anything to bed, nothing about our fursona's are even brought into the bedroom. Its definitely more of an identity.

Please find me a person who DIDN'T love TMNT~ D:< xD

ive never been a fan of it

I never really was either. D:

You blasphemous kids! *sob*

Kidding, kidding. ^^ I was never allowed to watch the cartoons of it when I was little, but I just adored the first movie. Now that I'm on my own I can finally watch the cartoons! :D

My husband showed me shows called um.. Bug Bunny I think it was called. I wasn't allowed to watch that either, but it was so cute when he showed me some episodes. *carrot chomp* What's up, Doc? *chomp chomp* <3!

Looney toons is like the grandfather of all cartoons.

Not the oldest, but probably the most prolific for its time.
