There are versions of this song without the steam and machinery clanking, but I feel like it adds to the audio aesthetic.

In the context of remixes, I'd like to share my absolute all-time favourite song, among any genre and any artist.

This artist is honestly amazing. His works have gotten him recognized enough to be the lead composer on an independent video game.
If you have the time, I recommend listening to these songs in this particular order, preferably with the lights out and your eyes closed to really absorb the depth:
1. Terrible Fate
2. Majora's Wrath (this song's actually kinda spooky)
3. Final Hours
4. Time's End

Did what you said. Lights off and eyes closed before sleep. That Time's End was probably my favorite. Felt like a Lord of the Rings movie score. I'd be surprised if this hasn't been posted before, but I offer this in exchange:

Time's End is wonderful. I think it caps off the album (or even just that series of four songs) perfectly.

Memoro de la S^tono is such a great song because it captures the entire essence of Final Fantasy XI's design philosophy and the history of Vana'diel in its tone, its literal lyrics, and the language chosen to sing those lyrics.
"Hand and hand together across the limitless eternity. We will no longer be put asunder. We will no longer be separated."

I'm going to stoke the absolute fire that is this page with another one of my favourites...

That's a really good one. But I think this is among his best work. Really loved DKC soundtrack tbh. This rendition is just breathtaking.

My friend and I always banter back and forth about certain game music triggering our nostalgia goggles even though we have no history with the associated game. I myself never owned a SNES, but Donkey Kong Country music swells my heart just the same. David Wise (et al) made a truly exceptional soundtrack.

My first Nintendo console was the N64, which came packed with Star Fox 64. The theme for Zoness has always had a great melody, but this light metal cover by GaMetal elevates it into the stratosphere. At least for me :)

Ahh, one of the N 64 classics that almost nobody ever heard of. That and a similar game... Flying Dragon were among my favorite N 64 titles of all time. Spent so many hours on them both. Serious, this fighting game is almost unheard of but the way it allowed you to level up your character and the items you unlocked beside them was pretty ingenious. It incorporated RPG elements into a fighting game... something that to this day I have never seen replicated in this manner. It was brilliantly addictive.

On the topic of obscure N64 games, I had fond memories of this one. Not even sure this is a good song, but it's definitely nostalgic at least :P

I used this song as the theme song for my lute-wielding Bard in a D&D campaign. Such a nice song for walking along a forested path with your friends.

Still hard to believe this acoustic, medieval-style song was composed by the same artist who composed Hell March and Act on Instinct.

I actually had to look it up because that sounded a lot like Tomohito Nishiura's work. I'm not even familiar with the actual artist (though a cursory Google search informs me that the artist hasn't done a ton of stuff).

I'm going to give some love to David Clynick here. A lot of the songs he composed for Perfect Dark 64 are songs I skipped over as a kid, but have since become staples in my musical library. Special mention to my favourite, Crash Site: Confrontation.

I never played Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but loved the soundtrack. I think I already posted the gold that is Death Match With Torna a while back, so Imma just go in a different direction.

We just got dumped by a blizzard in between two unusually warm days. This feels fitting somehow.
