Ouch! I hope this one passes by quickly as well. We were supposed to have storms, but it drizzled for like 5 minutes while I was on lunch.

my cousin on the other side of town posted pictures of baseball sized hail

It's starting to thunder here now. Nothing big though.

the major storms are gone now, the there was a third one that was really strong, nearly broke some windows with the hail

Ack, our storm is still hitting us.

Man I miss out on the whole southerner/TX talk while I'm out of town... stupid Closet station.

I have a feeling that it is probably going to be a field that pertinent to Pediatrics~

I am thinking:
General Pediatrics
Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Pediatric Medical Oncology/Hematology

I have the hands for surgery but - based off my summer experiences with a plastic surgeon - I really didn't enjoy the feel of the O.R. ;;
Maybe, I'll do trauma surgery at a children's hospital. ^^;

I think emergency medicine will be enough to fulfill my adrenaline craving.
I just know, I want to be a rockstar.
A rockstar with scalpels and/or stethoscopes.

Medicine - at least for me - is not about the money~
Although, I realize that I must take care of myself before I am allowed to help others. ^^;

I dunno, I care about others and I care about my work (I am a very work oriented person) too much, it will be disastrous for my private life. ;;

could also work at a shriner's hospital, help children with disabilities.... i miss my visits there, they were always fun

I've wanted to be a physician since around negative two; haha?
I've never really deviated off of this goal but, I know that everything happens for a reason and one day you'll find something you truly want to do with your life. :'p

That's because people aren't as introspective as they should be. They often can't tell the difference between what they want and what is expected from them. So they go about life like a chicken with its head cut off.

As long as the term "Living" in "Living the life" is viable, it never is a horrible plan unless you corrupt another person's life. :<

Not everyone was meant to be a mother, a father, a physician, a lawyer, an artist.
That's the beauty of life - we don't just don't know.

I think pediatrics would be so fun! Then only really depressing thing would be working in NICU. One of my friends is an RN and she worked NICU for her first couple of years. I imagine it's a little different for doctors though.


No obstetrics and gynecology for you? LOL!

LOL, I was telling my family that I think being an OBGYN might be fun. ^^;

I wouldn't like waiting nine months though! >:[
I'm on a busy schedule and I want those babies to be popping out like machine gun rounds! D:<

Also, NICU is for babies that were just born
Neonatal (events surrounding birth) Intensive Care Unit.

I think what MIGHT be hard is watching children in the PICU~

Both sound pretty killer. Kudos to you if you have the gusto! Sounds like you have the heart and determination! I'd probably be crying myself to sleep at night. LOL! Too overly sensitive when it comes to kiddos.

If you worked at a big practice in OBGYN you would probably have so many expectant mothers yearly that it would seem as though they were "popping out like machine gun rounds". Giving pap-smears would suck. They're bad on the recieving end. LOL!

Ehh, I am pretty sure I'll end up balling my eyes out a lot along the way. ^^;
I always feel like I could have done more or could have been better. ;~;

Nothing wrong with being harsh on your self as long as you are also fair on yourself. Everything looks better in hind-sight so don't let it get you down if and see something you could have done better. Learn from any mistakes you have made but don't let them get to you and remember that the lesson is learned and you can avoid the same mistakes next time. Also gotta agree with Zahrah, your mature, respectful and not hard to talk to which aside from the obvious medical training are some of the most important qualities in a doctor imo.

Labor and delivery can be very fun, like when a 400 lb woman give birth without painkillers to a 12.7lb Stuie from family guy shaped head baby. Craziness goes on in that delivery room. The problem with OBGYN if that you will have one of the worst schedules schedule, your always on call. You also have to be ready to tell many women that they miss-carried, and have your hands all up in vagina's and also sowing them back together after they tear.
NICU is cool and are becoming more needed as more and more hospitals are creating NICU wings. It's high stress, bad schedule, and but really, depending on your level of empathy, not to bad.

If you are an adrenalin junkie, want a good schedule, and like having fun, then ER doctor is a great way to go. You have to deal with more annoying people, drug seekers, idiots, and sad things like father and son Quad(type of 4 wheeler that goes fast) accidents. You will also work with patients, of all ages from 1week in the womb to 100 years old. ER doctors usually only get called in if there are major situations in which a lot of people where injured, for example 80 car pile ups, bombings, the A&M bonfire tragedy.


Ultimately the reason medical school is so comprehensive and requires so many different clinicals is because you really don't know until you get in there and experience it. In the end you need to choose the field that will let you brain survive the longest, with all the deaths, bloodshed, stupidity, ect... going on around you.
