Tbh I won't be assed to do the elemental staves since SCH is my only mage. I'm working on Surya's atm (mainly because SCH gets a massive shaft in cure potency gear) though its going slowly because the trials are so tedious its not even funny. If I do any of the elemental ones it'll be thunder and ice, naturally.

TotM can get quite boring, it really depends on the element
my MAB katana took around 2 days chilling in uleguerand to be done
the MDB one really pushed me on the verge of genocide.
what i like about katana trials is: whatever you do, it's gonna be usefull

TotM stave trials actually aren't that bad. I've got Curing/Thunder/Ice done and halfway through Wind. But then again I have rdm/whm/blm/brd. If you can do it in Abyssea it's cake. It'll be nice when servers come back up, I can start doing them in Abyssea again since I had to save stones for other things...
Note about curing staff, if you've got a nice DD friend, pixies count as elementals for the last 2 trials (minus geodes), and can rip through those trials in La Theine.

/yes as a melee job i say pixies are really nasty, interruption rate on them is 0, ALWAYS, and they usually start with protect and so on, plus i lag like ***there
