mine told me he was going to break up with me and dump me into a hospital with some stranger to attend my birth if i didnt bring him bloodtests soon.

i felt hurt, but he's awesome. I believe if i forge a strong friendship with him he will be kinder on the birth lol
Lmao, thats great! I wish I had a doctor like that, for my pregnancy with my daughter, I never had a consistent doctor, there was 5 I could see depending on what day my appointment was, I met 4 of them, 2 were good, 2 sucked. Dr. Hamilton was the one that almost got knocked out by my boyfriend for telling me "The next time you come in, your baby will be dead and it'll be your fault" because I wouldn't take the 3 hour glucose test, I failed the first one by 5 points because I had soda that morning and they sprung it on me >.> they also got my blood type wrong somehow.

He wouldn't take my concerns seriously though, so I said to hell with him. The female doctor I hated too -.-, she delivered my daughter, via unnecessary c-section because her shift was ending and I wasn't getting her out before her shift ended =/ I did get yelled at by one doctor I liked, for saying "this hurts like hell" but I was in full blown labor [back labor too] and it did hurt! XD he didn't like cursing.

yeah, i didnt bring the glucose test the first time so he told me that, he did say the baby could die and he wanted to take care of my baby but i needed to take care of it first. he was a bit kinder.

when i went for the glucose test i couldnt finish the drink and gaged it up so today i did the sugar test but with food :) mcdonalds breakfast ftw lol

seems to me you can pretty much sue the doctor for giving u an unecesary c section you know?
Need to find a more stable and responsable doctor tbh. ive been on the same for the last months, i do hate his nurses and secretarys they gossip alot and say rude comments.

Your doctor just sounds awesome, I knew the risks, when I took mines I almost fainted and Rogue I'm sure did, she went from moving near my ribs, to not-moving and brick-like at the bottom of my stomach, so that worried me, they wouldn't acknowledge it when I expressed my concerns. Mmm, McDonalds breakfast, we're not supposed to eat or drink for 12 hours before the test u.u

I could, theres a lot of things that hospital did wrong during delivery and sadly, we've got about a 40% c-section rate, the 4 days I was there, MAYBE 4 people delivered naturally, they're also induction happy and don't like people making it to their due dates =/ I agree about the nurses and secretary's, they have nothing better to do than be miserable and gossip about everything, gets 'em through their day, the ones I'd see, you'd think making them do their job was the worst thing in the world.

yeah on those glucose tests your not suposed to eat, but since i couldnt tolerate the juice the doctor changed the order and told me to do the test with food instead, which was a lot better. though, lately ive been noticing whenever i get an stung for bloodtests it hurts alot :/ i think im getting very sensitive.

My mom is telling me to toughen up and give birth, I'll give birth if the doctor gives me a green light that it's safe, I'm kind of a coward for it, but if he decides c-sectioni might aswell take my fate like more than half of the women nowdays do.

I do trust my doctor, he is very fun too lol thats why building friendship is important, so you feel trusted.

I don't like the whole midwife thing, I'd rather give birth in a cold hospital then at home and have something wrong happen, besides so much bacteria at home and what not.

I wish the doctors here would've done that, they just said no food or drink, if you throw up, you have to take it again, yuck. They could be doing it wrong too if its hurting more than it should, though you could be getting sensitive to it. You'll be fine when the time comes, its less scary when you're in labor, mainly cause you're focusing on everything but fear lol and a c-section isn't too bad, though I'd rather not repeat personally.

Agreed, if you're on friendly terms with a doctor and theres trust established, it makes for a better birthing experience and doctor-patient experience. Midwives also deliver in the hospital lol, but they're who you ask when you want to try a homebirth, its not done just on a whim, they make sure theres no complications prior to trying it and for me at least, I'd feel better at home, on my own terms than in the hospital, just because I've never felt safe/comfortable in a hospital, too many bad experiences.

ask your doctor to do it with food, I did, it's kind of bad he doesn't want to :/ to me he's being pretty much an uncaring douche bag.

last I heard from someone birthing with midwife at home the baby died because it was born with lungs that didn't really work. IDK how you can't pick that up on the follow up ultrasounds and what not. so meh I'd rather avoid stuff. :) 2 months and I'll be through with this.

You can't really tell with ultrasounds, they usually do an amnio but theres a risk in doing that. To me that sounds like it might've been a premature birth :( they're supposed to stop them anytime before 36 weeks. Lucky you with 2 months =p, I've still got 30 weeks to go x.x and this pregnancy is much slower than the last. I'm gonna suggest that the doctor lets me eat or drink something before the test, but if I and the baby reacts like last time, then I'm definitely not repeating it.

it's a diabetes test, you have it done if your sugar test scores high, usually the first test you only have to drink a glass which you can pretty much pass by easily, but that happends more into the pregnancy not now so dont need to worry.
though if you score high on sugar you'll get a diabetes run test, which you have to drink the whole bottle, if anything ask your doctor to do it with food and lie you dont tolerate it, i gagged it up so they didnt make me drink the rest of the bottle but i had to come back another day to finish it.

Stupid quote button, expect that test around 28ish weeks then, diabetes doesn't run in my family, but any pregnancy runs the risk of having gestational diabetes, so its a precaution. The one hour test isn't as bad as the three hour, which is twice as sugary, still glad I passed that one up.

I have hypoglucemia so they have to check me a lot, but you can get gestational diabetes, which is a temporal diabetes while your pregnant, and that my friend is worse than anything, baby could die, overgrow, or be born with diabetes in most cases.

so have to always get sugar check ups pregnant, since gestational diabetes is very common apparently.
