Except you do make a "who else is straight" thread. You do it every day. All of Final Fantasy 11, and arguably all of gamer culture, is that. Join any linkshell in FF, or even just scan these very forums, and what do you see? Conversation after conversation about women. Or bouncy animated avatars of boobs. Or women flashing skin. Repetitive, non-stop, crude and tired jokes about sex. It's arguably half the conversational content of the entire damn game.

And guess what? That's people putting their sexuality on display. I'm not gay myself, but I can easily imagine that to a gay guy, the ceaseless oversexed chatter about women and bouncing breast avatars is just as "counter-productive and asinine" as you find this thread. Yet most of them don't complain, and they certainly don't swoop self-importantly into others' conversations and tell them they're "asinine" for talking about being straight.

Because to them, it doesn't matter if the people around them are straight. However, it seems to me that it does matter to you if the people around you are gay, otherwise you wouldn't have felt the need to butt into the thread.

We already had "who's black" and "who's straight" threads just like this one. We had to eventually trash them because people couldn't behave themselves, and descended into profanity, underage porn, and racism. So far, this thread has been remarkably well-behaved by comparison. So what does that tell you?

Your claim would make sense - IF this was some crazy gay pride thread. And it's not. It's a chit chatty 'hey nice to meet you' thread. Is that so wrong? It's basicly the same thing as a game convention or something, this is just a place to talk and meet others that feel the same or share common interest. So shoo fly~

Well the fact your naming this thread as a gay community and encouraging people to come out the closet FF style lol you are creating a minority group which appears to be only inviting gays so you have no right to trash this guy. Why not just call it FFXI community, he is right it may aswell be a gay pride community, I really don't get why you have to try and stamp your sexual orientation all over everybody else and force us to support you like its normal.

Everybody is welcome to post, I'm not gay but I like the people here. They are interesting, fun to talk to and they don't pretend to not care about someone's lifestyle choice and try to stifle it anyways. That was a shot, I'm pretty sterotypically normal. Seriously though why does it matter to you? I sincerely doubt anyone would come out of the closet for this thread, but I think the reason they labeled it gay community is so they had a safe place (which you're clearly attempting to destroy) to talk without being discriminated.

I don't see anyone here asking for your support, actually. I'm not gay myself but I find it nice to sit here and have an interesting conversation with these guys. I also don't feel like I wouldn't be welcome to post and chat just because I'm not. So whats your deal? If a group of like minded people want to have a conversation, and you don't agree, don't read it. Don't post.

And have been around to see some people bash them for being so open. Oh and Gimmie...your icon is very eye catching. Even for me being straight I sat there for awhile watching it XD. So hows everyone doing ^^?

I didn't say Dynamis sucked, I said Wednesdays suck and thats my typical Wednesday schedule.

If you aren't gay or bi, it's silly to say that. For some people, in this thread or wherever, it's nice to meet others and feel more comfortable about our orientation. Because society is so disgusted and refusing to accept this, what choice to we have sometimes but to group together? If none of you even give it a second thought. So suggesting it's just an FFXI community thread completely defeats the purpose of socializing for this reason. I do not see anyone trying to " stamp your sexual orientation all over everybody else", I see people thaat happen to be gay socializing. And for you to say "and force us to support you like its normal." you contribute to the reason gays are segregated as you *** at us for making a thread like this.
