hi scrump~ HOWDY! How have you been? :3
On a side note, queens be cray cray.
I was accused for "tone policing and homophobia apologia" today.
(This is on another GLBT forum.)
In respect for the Chick-Fil-A thing, I feel that if you aren't completely against it, you are sort of shunned from the LGBT community. Now, I am not saying that I am not against it -- in reality, I am. I just don't stand on a soap box and praise to the world.
As someone who has had his opinion repressed, I respect the right for other Americans to formulate their own opinion and judge their actions and the actions of others. Is this such a complicated concept to understand?
The fact that you make your own opinions and it's perfectly okay for others to have their own opinions, but still treat you like person?
In a much better example, I identify as ***. I acknowledge that people, especially people who are in my cohort, do not fundamentally agree with that. However, even with me identifying as ***, they treat me like a fellow colleague and as another aspiring physician. In the end, that's all you can really ask for.
I respect the right for them to formulate their own decisions on the *** community. I don't want to picket them, I don't want to tell them how their fundamental doctrines/morals are wrong, I just want to live a life where I can get through school.
Is that so difficult?

Oh I could totally date a female. But I tried to do the physical portion a few years back I was just so turned off I was like closing my eyes and having to fantasize about a guy lol
I think this is how/why ex gays say that it works. I think the mental side of dating a female probably appeals to them?
"Ex-gays" say it works usually via psychiatry and perscriptive medications, BUT thats a whole another topic lol. But i think that guys thinking they can become straight has a lot to do with social pressures moreso than appeal.

Edit: As long as they aren't paying for the continued repression of my basic rights, it's all great in my book.
To be honest though, I think that a lot of people who say "oh I respect you as a person, but I don't agree" are talking out their ***. How can you respect someone you don't even view as deserving of the same rights that you have? Their attitudes range from openly antagonistic to silenty complicit. We are given a choice between a miserable existence alone in the closet or a lifetime of other hardships at the hands of these people and their clumsily veiled judgments. This is hardly a choice; what room is there for anyone to "disagree?" I'd much rather hear the truth--that they do not in fact respect us as they respect themselves--or better yet, nothing at all.
Can't believe I'm leaving Wednesday. o.o I can barely handle packing to go visit my grandpa, how am I supposed to do this whole working abroad thing ?? XD *forgets all the things D:*

Kinda how I feel about it... You can hate gays all you want I really don't care about that, but once someone is willingly supporting less rights being given is where the line is drawn imo. Like, if you don't respect us enough to give equal rights you don't respect us as a person, it's a package deal. You are free to beleive whatever you want to beleive but attempting to take that kinda hazzy middle ground just makes me >.>
Happy Birthday Hohen and you'll be fine Carrelo XD

I've seen these kinds of sentiments before with other LGBT issues. Such as thinking the LGBT community should devote more focus to ENDA rather than marriage equality, or thinking Dan Savage is a scumbag are apparently all it takes to make me a radical activist. You'd think that there would be more allowance for diversity of opinions in the community.
I'm fine with the boycotts of Chik-Fil-A, they really deserve most of the negative backlash from this. But the more I thought about it, I don't quite necessarily agree with having city officials blocking them from opening. For one it sets a dangerous precedent (imagine a mayor or city alderman blocking a business from opening because they support LGBT rights, feed the hungry, or donate money to save the environment). It's not really their place to do that. Let the people decide.

Question:
Do you think there is females who are into gay guys? Yes, I have a friend who loves gay men, but obviously wrong gender and everything lol, couldn't tell you why she has an attraction to someone who has no interest in her though. I find myself crushing on guys that end up being gay alot.
Metro guys are a good substitute if they have that slim build and effeminate thing going on. I've also dated m2f but they are rarely into females so that is a bummer when i crush on one that wants a guy instead >.>
Oh, the lack of anyone from valefor on this thread makes me sad panda.

I know there is a Valefor person or two around here, I just can't recall their name, maybe they'll post after this!

I'd say about 80-85% of the mtfs I know (myself included) identify as lesbian. It's more common than people think!

That's been the hardest thing for people to wrap their heads around when I've come out to them. If I had a dollar for every time I've been asked, "If you like girls, why didn't you just stay male?", I'd be filthy rich.
*facepalm*
Just curious to see how many of us actually play FFXI. **Now, let's try to keep this clean, please don't respond if you have nothing nice to say.** :] Don't be shy, speak up! :D
EDIT: You don't have to be gay to post in here, if you want to be apart of our conversations.. feel free to join in! Don't be shy, we don't bite.. well some of us do! :] Anyyyyyways~! This thread has become a home to many from the LGBT community & even some from the straight community who are open minded and enjoy chit-chatting with us, :] so let's keep it drama free, we deserve a place where we can be ourselves without being made fun of/harassed.
