So long as a guy isnt wearing a rainbow belt, stickers, buttons(NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT, JUST NOT MY THING), weirdly colored hair, or looks like a Lady Gaga I"M ok with them. Oh yes and women's clothes big no no for me personally.

I halfway agree. I think it's only an insecurity when people allow their sense of gender identity to compel them to adopt behaviors that they would not normally display or that make them uncomfortable.

Well, I think it's difficult to determine which is which in most cases.

In genetics theres something we use to broaden why something is common in a population but still varies.

Genetics + Environment = Phenotype(Final Expression)

I should have quoted the whole convo. When @Carrelo, mentioned about it being it being an insecurity to some. Phenotypic expression isnt just physical manifestations in organisms.

personally, i recommend that everyone on the planet take a course in behavioural endocrinology and/or neuroethology

fascinating subjects :P

Punnet Squares are Mendalian genetics, which are somewhat archaic now lol Because they only work on single trait specific alleles/genes. Where as most genes/allelos code for multiple factors.

E.g. Colorblindness is on same allele as sex chromosome. etc..

Social Evo/Ecology was bad enough. All i remember out of that class was the dog with multiple food bowl example... neuroethology? what univ is this lol. Its called pyshobiology at most univ's in the US lol or falls under anthro lol

behavioural endocrinology is the study of hormones and their impact on behaviour

neuroethology is the study of how the nervous system translates biological relevant stimuli into behaviours in natural settings

correct and neither of which has a single dedicated-course. They are usually included in other courses, e.g pyschobiology, evolutionary genetics, molecular genetics, b/c all three of those fields cover those topics to some degree- at least in United States universities.

That's like me creating a course on prokaryotic bacterial population genetics. Its far too specific of a course even at the graduate/doctoral level.

lol when i took evolutionary genetics it might as well have been a mathematics course

idkbro, i guess i'm lucky in that my university (virginia tech) offers a lot of semester-long courses in specific areas.

things i've taken that are highly specific at the graduate or undergraduate level in our biology department:

neurochemical regulation (4XXX)
behavioural endocrinology (5XXX)
disease ecology (5XXX)
insect structure/function (5XXX)
ethology (4XXX)
neuroethology (5XXX)
chemical ecology (5XXX)
aquatic entomology (4/5XXX)
medical/veterinary entomolgy (3XXX)

random specific things that are currently on our timetable:

food microbiology
social behavior of birds and mammals
inflammation biology
cancer biology
quantitative ecology

we also have separate courses for

microbiology
microbial genetics
microbial physiology
pathogenic bacteriology
environmental microbiology
virology

i enjoy it, i'd rather go in-depth in a specific area of interest than overview a group of interrelated fields.
