Does it irk anyone else when someone says "People who say Happy Holidays are doing it wrong, it's Merry Christmas"?
On the one hand, no - there is nothing wrong with saying Happy Holidays if that's the message you wish to convey.
On the other hand, there is also nothing wrong with wishing someone a Merry Christmas (or whatever else you wanna say lol) - or at least there shouldn't be in my opinion.
For example, I have lots of friends from Malaysia. I'm not Muslim myself, but they include me in a lot of Muslim holidays - greet me, let me borrow traditional clothing for their events, lots of stuff. I don't view that as "disregarding my culture" or whatever bs people say; in fact, it makes me feel happy when someone else welcomes me into
their culture.
I think it's silly when this whole "Happy Holidays"/"Merry Christmas"/"Happy Hanukkah"/whatever debate crops up every year. As individuals we should be able to greet each other in the way of our choice. <__< That being said, organizations and businesses are a separate issue.
