How Much Money Could You Have Made Playing FFXI?

So here's an interesting bit of information...

I've been playing this game since January of 2003. I have taking numerous breaks throughout my FFXI life, anywhere from only a week to one lasting up to a year.

Between my very first character, my newest one, and my mule that I played and leveled for a good while, I have accumulated roughly 520 days of gameplay (and rarely do I leave the game on while i'm not playing at night/work etc..). Now this may or may not be alot compared to some people, but for me this has been a major part of my life.

Now to the point I'm trying to make... So I've played for 520 days. That's comes to 12,480 hours (if my math is correct XD). In the state of Mississippi, in which I live, mininum wage is currently $7.25/hour. So, with these two pieces of information I've calculated that by just making minumun wage in the state of Mississippi, I "could have made" $90,480.00 playing FFXI!

Crazy huh!? Let's see how much money you could have made!

Only 518 days here. But min wage is 8.55. So $106,293.60

Last I checked, I think it was only like 53 days XD I think minimum wage is 7.50 here so.

I could have made a ton more if I worked instead of sleeping. But probably I would be over 100k.

lmao, how about how much money you can make while playing FFXI relative to the cost monthly for the game service itself. Its called investing ppl, and it means getting your money to work for you. Also it wouldnt be a bad idea to work for a company in which you get paid while taking time off of work. Maybe put the same type of dedication to ur job that you do towards XI and you may be able to not hate ur life. ^.^

But what do I know? I'm just rish bish!! And don't try to attack me personally, I'm just trying to rouse the audience so to speak. ;)

Sorry, maybe its just the emo ppl on Carbuncle that are always bitching about their lack of income and medical problems or broken home problems. What SE needs to do is have a Psychologist NPC in all the zones. :P

Leave Carbuncle. Trust me on this. The 3 months I was on that server was utter hell.

According to the minimum wage (when converted to USD), I would have gotten: $215,642.07

According to my actual wage, I would have: $224,894.04

Before people come to the realization that FFXI = FML, I'd like to point out 2 things:


1) Money can't buy happiness, at least so they say.
2) The times you had, the fun adventures and company you had doing them over the years = priceless

They lie! They tell you that so that they can keep all the money for themselves.

Ironically it can buy FFXI, which makes me happy, and sushi too... ***. It was a lie!
