Kaelyth is my mule, and i'm the one that made the error, 9 times.
Its really a simple mistake as to how the error happened so many times. I had made an initial bid, which didn't go through because it was too low. I tried one for 1,160,000, and saw that it had gone through. I was a little too excited over the fact that I might actually get to buy a couple ingots at a more reasonable price (the price jumped by more than 100k within the last week and a half) that I failed to see that the Imperial Wootz Ingot wasn't actually selected when the bid had been made the second time.
Having seen that the bid went through, I didn't waste any time trying to hurry and make additional bids. And being on a skype call at the time talking, I wasn't 100% focused on reading the chat log. I'm sure there are some people that skim chat log in-game when holding a conversation on skype, or the phone.
It was on the 9th bid that I looked closer to the actual chat line and realized the error.
Sucks that it took so long for me to realize, and I really wish that in that particular moment I had paid a little more attention. I've been playing the game for almost 5 years, and have never had an AH mistake like this. It does make you wonder how a person could repeat the mistake so many times, especially with an extra "Are you sure you want to make this purchase" question, but it happened.
I appreciate that Buckeyespud came here and posted, I didn't even know at first. I'm already hoping to try and get in touch with the people that I purchased the stacks of iron ingots from by mistake, and hoping they would be willing to make an arrangement with me but I also know that getting such a big lump sum in your delivery box is probably something that is hard to pass up on. And i'm sure that there's slim to no chance of me recovering even half of what I spent the last months saving up and working to make.
But just as Buck mentioned, one person so far has been kind enough to help correct the error that I made and I can only hope that if I try to get in touch with the others, they might do the same. If they don't, well then at least I tried. Mistakes happen and that's really all there is to this. No one is asking for compassion, no one is asking for any pity.
If anyone does happen to know the players though and could send them a /tell to inform them that i'm trying to get in touch, it would be greatly appreciated.
