Anyone else notice when you log in now that stupid ESRB T rating thing pops up? It's annoying. lol

 Thought I was the only one lol. I blame a mom. I bet she saw her son/daughter playing and someone in an LS saying "*** a mother *** haha yeah ni*** this and ni*** that..." and bitched to SE and now behold the ESRB thingy.

I know the mild language refers to players, but is there any instances of actual cursing in the game's dialogue?
The "worst" it gets is damn. That doesn't even count.

I logged and saw it and laughed. Thought it was funny as hell. But that ESRB rating is inaccurate but i guess it's for the "game content only." What about the content and context people shout/say in chat? I've seen my share of raunchy convos come about in LS and even whitegate shouts.

I was curious for this, because they usually very clearly state that online actions are not rated by the ESRB. Then again I think thats somewhere in the rules where they put that :X So I guess they didnt need it again. ... still, I was laughing when it poped up XD

The only even mild language I recall is the starting CS for Windurst when I first started. had Nanaa Mihgo talking to you, then some punk kids spot her, and she runs off saying "damn S.O.B.s" or something. Up until I meet the "Star Onion Brigade" I thought she meant something else ^_^

That doesn't even count. iirc, Luzaf says the big bad, H-E-double hockey stick word a few times. ESRB ratings are stupid. It's just another reason for parents to be even more lazy and not research the products they buy their kids. And most of them don't even care in the first place. At my old job, I got written up for refusing to sell GTA to a kid who obviously wasn't 17+ (if I had to guess, he was 9), and his mother complained. I think to this day, ESRB ratings aren't backed up by the law like movie ratings are, so ESRB ratings are simply arbitrary. (I know a few states have tried and failed.)

Looks like its only on NA versions of the game...
(or at least I haven't heard of any EU players with the 'problem') Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this pisses me off and I don't know why!

The funny thing is, once the game goes online, ESRB can't rate the content anymore, and it becomes a free-for-all. This ESRB thing is just to make someone that complained, very happy.

ya from what ive seen so far looks to be only NA. probably some US regulation nobody cares about. I hate how with any games us Canadians always get shafted by US laws. /sigh
Am I the only one that isn't bothered by it? sure it's a 1-2 second delay, but.... so?

lmao when I first saw it, I freaked out, my jaw dropped, it was so huge and covered the whole screen and delayed 1 second longer than usual. The only thing pointed out in my brain was mostly the black color, because I wasn't reading the actual ESRB text, I just saw it in the corner of my eye. I thought my PS2 HDD just died on me, for that millisecond, haha, then I'm like, "Oh, wtf was that, must be a glitch... let's hit "Cancel" then try it again..." and of course, yeah, I totally thought I was losing my mind 'til I tried it again.

I think when they made this, there were alot of " PLay on Names" when they did this, and said ahh ehh WTH.. lets leave it in there for fun... I mean its the SOB'S.. Star Onion Brigade... not the.. well You know what I mean.. I don't want to put it in in fear the ESRB maybe watching.....ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... LOL |
