Ambrosia > All For Endgame?

Had a discussion with a LS mate about ambrosia usage during endgame events. He said that it's really overrated and basically not worth it. So, I was hoping I could cop out and let someone else do my math:

Two situations, both DD. One, standard SV rotation on a Kirin tp burn, another on a more regular DD sea jailer fight (non SV rotation, maybe 2 bard songs) for something like Hope. Key difference being, I think, the capped vs. uncap accuracy, but I didn't look too hard at math yet.

Aren't I right? Isn't Ambrosia basically the best you can have?

I like using it during noob levels. It sure helps unnoobify things.

Every time I poke Kirin with an arrow he casts Quake 1200 on me or smacks me. Ambrosia is nice, but if you are going to be dying a quick and messy death within 20 minutes of using it, then not so much. On the sea situation, I'm not sure because I'm almost always blm in sea, not rng.

Lol yeah ok well death is obviously an issue, but there's other ways of dealing that. And with Kirin it's all about people skills ... ^^

It has it's ups and downs, because it's +7 to more or less everything, it makes it really good for mages (although only gives 7MP, so a lot of people would prefer other options). 7 INT/MND and hmp are pretty sexy for a mage if you don't need that mp boost that some other foods offer.

As a melee though, 7 acc is crap if you need acc, 7 attack is crap if you need attack. The 7 STR/DEX IS nice, don't get me wrong, but when you compare it to something like dragon steak, which doesn't give the DEX but gives +20% attack (150 cap) you see why Ambrosia really isn't that great for melee.

But as Jiko says, it turns you into an absolute god at low levels, basically increases your level by about 3 or 4.

I used Ambrosia quite a bit on war/sam farming in sky and sea and on bard doing gods or jailers. I also used it most of the time fov'ing my PUP from 58-75. I think for anywhere around 2-5k for a 4 hour food with +7 on all attributes is pretty swell.

I use Ambrosia for farming big things (like dios and stuff like that).

I'd rather have more att def or acc generally. Though on a mage where we don't get any % boost food. Sure

Ambrosia lving 1-10+ is very nice
also used it when i was lv'ing up BLM and hit those sessions in V.Inlet(s)

for my DD jobs tho i can grab Dragon Steak/Red Curry Buns etc for full BRD zerg

It's neat for mages. I use it sometimes on BLU while using Eyes on Me, since it's the best CHR food. However, it's not very good for melee...

Basically this. If I know I'm going to be nuking for the next 3 hours I may pop an Ambrosia, but I'd never use it while meleeing.

Ambrosia = most fun you'll ever have on a level 1-10 job. Unless you have a 75 BRD PL and ambrosia that is. 1 shot VT's ftw

I'd use it on blu for physical spells if I knew I was gunna keep capped acc even in my full str/dex gear. And I wasn't cannonballing. And it was easier to get.

The only use I can see in end game is as a incredibly expensive and long lasting Cream Puff + wizards cookie all in one for BLM. It could have some use for RDM giving a boost to INT and MND although it wouldn't be my first choice food. For WHM I would have thought mushroom stew or goblin mushpot would be better.

After that you are into things like BLU casting food and that's about it.

For a melee it doesn't get close to Meat/Pizza/Sushi.

Cursed soup is only 2k here so i really dont see any reason not to use it if u have it.

It's the best food in the game for a nuking SCH or BLM really. HMP 7 and 7 int is awesome ^_^. Pizza/meat is a ton better for melee though.
