Internet Explorer?

You can get anything from the right CSS exploit. Stop using it.
I use Firefox. =\

Not sure what you mean but I never tried to buy what it asked or anything x.x Everytime it popped up or whatever I just closed it.
As a former exploiter of morons everywhere, let me share a useful piece of info. Closing, canceling or shutting down any pop up window with a mouse or key strokes can trigger a virus infection. Prevent pop ups to start with and don't ever click one. Always kill pop ups with the task manager after starting it with the run function (i.e. don't use ctrl+alt+del).

*** badass. I never thought to start Task Manager from the run command. That would sold my whole Vista-crashing-FFXI-whenever-I-press-cntl-alt-del-in-order-to-get-task-manager.

Just to confirm, what's the filename for task manager?

I actually just got some really bad Malware yesterday from FFXIclopedia. It downloaded this ugly crap called "Malware Defense" which was the actual malware and spammed me with pop-ups and made my Anti-virus go into seizures. Luckily, it didn't go through and delete any of my system restore points.

I use Webroot Antivirus + Antispyware and Firefox. I'm sure its just some crap that downloads on one of the copious amounts of adds on the site, and once it gets discovered they take the add down. I don't think everyone would just go to a page and get a virus or some other scum but it can very likely happen. Just make sure you have restore points, popup blockers, antivirus with all the goodies and don't download any suspicious pornography and it shouldn't be too much of a problem :P

I said it could have been a coincidence. No I haven't reported it to anyone because I haven't gone back onto Wiki since getting rid of the virus. I never said I knew 100% that it came from Wiki x.x

I was more or less referring to the original poster, who has coincidentally been absent since the making of this post.

He undoubtedly said wiki = virus.

I was simply wondering what steps he did to confirm it's a virus, whether he bothered to report it, or even looked at the source code.

It's probably an ad malfunction, if anything. That site's gone to hell since Wikia took over. I've even had Chrome detect malicious ads on THIS site, which I promptly reported to the admins with the source code and a screenshot.
