Mars Volta isn't really my style of music but that is pretty damn good for a long song. Most ones past 12 min. tend to drag on or go dull.

Yeah, it's a real hit or miss with them, but Jesus, their drummer is like an octopus and their guitarist is from another talent with his skill. This is the one big gem by them I thought was worthy of sharing. The others tend to be really obscure and lengthy. Most volta songs have me going "WTF am I listening to?" 5 minutes into it. lol I posted the longest song I've heard so far a few days back on this thread but I'm sure it was overlooked... (I honestly think most songs here get overlooked sadly. lol :/ )
I think Iron Butterfly has most of us beat.

Anyways, a friend showed me this but at first I found it hard to believe that this is simply a rock version of this... Had to listen reallllllyyyy closely to both to finally grasp it. Unfortunately he passed away today. :/
