Alkalurops > Then HQ Staffs?

I didnt see this on first page of forums. just wondering if the mighty Alkalurops is a better option for lullabys and elegys over the HQ staffs ?

yes it is 20 magic acc > 15 magic acc from apollo

its 20 magic accuracy vs 15%^ magic acc, so apollo's wins as does terra's.

HQ staves will always win for accuracy.

i'm sorry, but unless you guys have the pleasure of using an alky, can't throw out blanket statements such has HQ > alky.

Datamining has shown alky edges out HQ slightly. From practical experience, i've noticed a difference when matched with my relic horn vs using a HQ staff.

For RDM or blm or whm its just killer for slow/para when you want a mind build matched with the macc.

When I went on my game break, i lent out my speed, my novio, and every other goodie i had... except this bad boy.. It is never leaving my char. It is that good.

I have to agree, I've used both and in each situation, I was impressed with the alky.

I know the statistics, I know what everyone says. But time after time I see otherwise. I understand the argument, but honestly I prefer the alky.

Use what you want, when it comes down to it. I gave up trying to make this point, I have used both and this is my preference, take that as you will.

Ok, there seems to be some miss information in here.

HQ staves are estimated to have 20-30 m.acc, it is a static number, not a percentage increase (only the nuke damage is a percentage increase).

I am no BRD, but assuming their m.acc works in a similar way to 'normal' magic.

When you below 10 dSTAT Alky > HQ
If you are above 10 dSTAT HQ > Alky

But the difference is minimal either way. I believe SE made them to be equal most of the time and that's pretty much what the maths shows

Alky has the advantage of 10 stat on it, which makes it great for potency based magic (mainly Para and Slow), elegy isn't potency modified (I don't think any brd song is), but CHR does increase accuracy.

A pretty good bard will sit around ~110 CHR in their debuff gear, so should be over 10 dSTAT (except on really big nastys) therefore HQ is likely to be better.

Alkys biggest advantage is it can be used for any element, therefore you can get way with carrying only 1 staff (well 4 if you inc Terra, Pluto and Apollo [idle, resting, curing]). But considering BRD only needs Terra and Apollos for debuffs then you haven't really gained anything.

hey lets not forget that after using HQ staffs for the better of what is soon to be this past decade.... the alky is a nice change!
