Laugh if you want, but I'm on the verge of producing a model viewer that will allow us to manipulate FFXI's zone geometry in a way that was driving other people insane trying to reverse engineer.
I'm working on a new project: using AI to vibe-code a new model viewer that I've elected to name DATura, which is a pun on the DAT file format and the poisonous datura flower.
That's cool! I've been working on a model viewer like this too :) so far I've been able to figure out how to build brand new zones, vfx, sfx, collision mesh changes, navmesh, losmesh, asset builder, custom assets, and then a bunch of QOL editor stuff. Excited to see yours, it's cool we're finally getting progress on these tools!
Since you're all using AI for this and they train off the things you're doing, you're effectively just copying off each other. Which is why there are 10-20 people are all making the same things with AI now.
>Oh I'm doing this too!
>me too
>that's crazy, I was making the exact same thing!

Dunno what spicyryan has to do with it i havent spoken to that guy in about 3 years.
Using AI to datamine yes, but to come up with the tools not really. If you can show me a couple prompts that gets you to this stage feel free to share the chat :)
I also dont know whats so bad about copying off each other, are we not all learning things together? Bit ironic coming from you :D
Either way, you can stay being grumpy and we can enjoy cool new *** :D
