specifically what set needed for COR/DRK? Absorb-TP set?
Absorb-TP set, Fast cast set, QD Max STP set, roll set, Savage blade set, Idle set built around STP/Regain/Roller ring/Regal gloves for TP return, Icarus Wing set.
I think that is all that I use for Aminon itself
No, that's legitimately the answer to the question. There are no strategy differences between NM and HM Aminon. Especially not for a COR. It's an ignorant, poorly phrased question from someone who is very clearly not ready for HM Aminon. Maybe someone will carry him through some wins though. After filling out his lua for him.
Um...Like, what's the entire strategy? There are at least 3 different strategies. You want someone to type out the entire strategy for you? Just the COR part? There are like...50 posts about this, plus dozens of videos on YouTube. Do you...have any questions about the HORDES of information that is available about this fight? Why did you mention HM when, after doing your research, you found absolutely zero evidence that the strategy for HM is any different from NM?
Again, poorly worded. Is this supposed to say what sets ARE needed for COR/DRK? If so...what the hell kind of question is this? You have absolutely 0 sets for COR and want to know what the minimum sets that you need to make are? Do you already have a COR with the "standard" sets and just want to know which EXTRA sets are required for this fight, in particular, that you might not already have? If so, maybe you want to share the sets you currently have, to make sure the people giving you advice can be sure what you have/don't already have?
Is this question asking "Is an absorb-TP set necessary?" or "Could someone share an absorb-TP set with me?"?
In either case. Provide what you already have and ask for advice. Ask about which stats are the highest priority. Ask about how much macc you need to land it. Ask about BiS FC options...
IDK, bring ANYTHING to the table other than 3 extremely vaguely-worded, lazy questions. I know, I'm being unreasonably elitist.

Icarus wing “set”?
Am I missing something or does some gear actually affect icarus wing return?
Store TP affects how much TP you receive from any wing items (Lucid, Icarus, I think Daedalus might be fixed 1k but never tested in ballista)
Similarly, the more STP you have equipped while getting hit, the more TP you gain from taking that hit. That’s why you’ll see people prioritize regain and then stp in their idle Aminon sets.
As snarky as it is, I don't think Maletaru is out of line or trolling here. They often give advice to players who ask for it, but the OP made next to zero effort in their post.
In the past we would hit em with the "let me google that for you" website. Granted, Maletaru's response isn't the nicest but I don't think it's a requirement to be nice, and the OP sounds like something you would ask chatgpt.
The question is legit and anyone reading it could infer that you wanted someone to put the effort into typing up an entire rundown of COR's role and required sets for hardmode Aminon.
It's still pretty self-centered to expect others to take time out of their day to write thorough responses and collect this information for you when you clearly didn't go to the effort of:
looking at other available resources
outlining what you already know
scoping your question so the answer isn't more work than needed
It's clear you didn't want to put more effort than the minimum into asking for help. But, you got upset when MT gave you a response that was equally minimalistic, so you understand the value of clear communication.
Idk, it still came off as out of character for him, but I get it.

I never asked anyone to do anything they didn't want to, that is your speculation. I did do my research and this is one of the forums I was seeking advice from. Should of , could of, would of can apply to any situation. If no one wants to reply, that's fine. Getting bashed for asking a question in FFXIAH was a risk I was willing to take to get more "research". I get it , you guys love to shitpost, more fun than playing FFXI amirite? So all these trolls took time of our their day to shitpost while I am trying to get help is truly FFXIAH.
What people are trying to say - not in a particularly respectful way it has to be said - is that if you ask a very open ended question like "How do I beat Aminon HM", then there's not much to go on for someone that perhaps wants to give some feedback.
A better approach would be "Hey, I'm looking to start doing Aminon HM for mesos, is there anything beyond X Y and Z that I need for HM specifically? Is it the same as normal just harder? What gives."
Asking for help is fine, you do need to show you've done at least some of the research and not just asking for gimmes and to be told exactly where to stand, what to do, what buttons to press and so forth.
No one likes a "let me play the game for you bro". Everyone equally dislikes "how do I XI" from someone claiming to be able to do the hardest content in the game.
XI is not a game for hand holding, I'm sure you are aware. Do some research, ask pertinent questions. IMO.
And I'm the kind of *** that has no problem telling someone "I don't want to carry you bro, find someone else".
I'm confused as to why anyone would consider COR/DRK if it wasnt for Absorb-TP. Surely you dont plan to stun it?
clearly it's for tractor :D
to clarify though, for anyone reading this who doesn't know, /drk for absorb tp, souleater, last resort, even consume mana has application for that fight.
